Grunt is a meatshield and nothing more to me. Miranda- instant dislike. Not trying to be a hater, just being totally honest in that I can't stand her. She never goes anywhere with me, and even though I have had many maleSheps, I only romance Jack and Tali. Too bad Samara isn't an option- love her. I do feel somewhat sorry for Miranda when she is meeting her sister. But then I look at the sprayed on suit and cameltoe, and say, "Really?"
Jacob is growing on me. His romance is still cringe-worthy. But he's good looking and apparently a nice guy, so I've romanced him before. Thane's dead wife thing is a total turnoff. But I kind of like his lips and his nose and the way he looks in sunglasses. And the joining hands thing is nice. Would prefer, like some others, that he get cured in ME3.
Interestingly enough, the person I hated the most on my first playthrough became one of my absolute favorites- and that's Jack. She is my favorite romance for maleShep. There's just something that rings true about her if you Paragon-mance her. I just find myself flat out liking her. She reminds me of one of the 'social misfits' that end up being my best friends. Also, she just has these gorgeous, soulful eyes that show that there is so much more beneath the ink suit.
Zaeed is disturbingly sexy to me. I don't know what it is- well, he's got a great ass and a sexy accent, but he's also rugged and competent. He doesn't seem to be long-term relationship guy but would probably be willing to give you a roll in the hay just for fun every now and then.
Samara- what class. I trusted her in a Kelly-trusts-Shepard way as soon as I met her.
Tali is a sweet galpal who obviously has a true heart. I've MaleShepmanced her a time or two.
Mordin is hilarious. Clearly has depth.
Legion is somewhat of a puzzle, for which I think we'll gain more pieces in ME3. I hope so.
I liked Kasumi the most when she told me about the things in her room. Especially the painting. Spiffy voice, too.
And then there's Garrus. Always liked him, but when it came to he and femShep flirting in ME2, something fell into place and I got warm, fuzzy feelings about how the two of them probably belonged together and how two people in their position would have a high likelihood of falling in love. And that voice just makes my toes curl. It's like being rocked in a cradle of velvet. There's also a quirky thing about the way he moves- a tilt and shake of the head, a sidelong glance or very Garrus-like expression that is all him. THIS, my brothers and sisters, is what makes it seem impossible to be 'faithful to Kaidan'. Don't get me wrong. I like Kaidan a lot. He's a very handsome dude. But when I see Garrus, it's like running into your old flame at Wal-mart. You're in biiiig trouble.

I like most of the team. The only one I truly can't bring myself to care about one way or another is Jacob. The rest I either care about enough to dislike (Miranda), or to appreciate to varying degrees. Even Grunt: he makes me chuckle. My favourites, besides Garrus, would be Mordin, Tali, Samara, Thane and Kasumi. And I completely agree about the fact that we need more storyline involvement for Legion.
Oh, and I've never even had the interest to recruit Morinth, which would probably qualify her for most disliked member.
@ silentstephi: What is this, I don't even...

I think my Shepards are all a little eccentric. xD MainShep likes Saren, saved the Council only because she likes turians, and thinks giant human Reaper-making machines are good presents (TIM would agree). When the MaleShep I'm playing in ME1 now reaches ME2, he's going to be the total opposite. He's a Sole Survivor, and he's so paranoid of Cerberus that he purposely gets Miranda and the crew killed off, then he blows up the base. He's also going to choose the "concentrate on Sovereign" option at the end of ME1 - mostly because he doesn't want to risk losing the battle, but partly because the Council annoyed him. I actually don't have any Shepards based on myself, but MainShep has the same taste in characters.Aricle wrote...
@ Kim Shepard: I like your take on it in terms of gratitude, although I personally couldn't approach it from that angle. I don't feel *that* grateful. I might try that as a Shepard who is a break from one who essentially does it as I would.

I really love Grunt, he's my second favourite after Garrus. He is nothing like Wrex, but he's still young. My krogan baby.

Maybe it helps to just create a character, think about it from their point of view, and make the decisions they would make? None of my Shepards will ever be pure Paragon or Renegade though - even Evil Shepard has to pretend to be a nice guy at times. But it is hard to make Shepard be mean to your favorite characters.

I am now imagining Shepard changing Grunt's diapers and then cradling him to sleep while singing him this lullaby.
Hmm...maybe it'd make for a good crackfic.

Garrus is my LI, Grunt my baby and Wrex is Grunt's godfather. Shepard reading Nijntje/Miffy stories to Grunt? A lot of potential there for a fic

One thing all of my Shepards agree on is they'll always recruit Garrus. I can't think of any reason not to recruit him unless the Shepard doesn't like turians. D: If any of my Shepards are going to hate an entire race, it's always the batarians. I think one pre-service history and two military backgrounds involve batarians, so it makes the most sense. I guess a Spacer Shepard could have had family in the First Contact War, and I don't think a father is ever mentioned (could have died). Now that I thought of that backstory, I'll want to play it... but still not want to play it because I like turians.

I really wish they hadn't added the stupid to Saren's character from the book. /sighs
He was so much cooler when you just cut out the blatant evil you see in him from the novel, and instead are just given the "misguided villain" of the game.

My MainShep is a Colonist War Hero, and she has to try really hard not to hate batarians. She fails at it most of the time, but that one sick batarian, who she only saved because she wanted more information out of him, turned out to be the first batarian she liked because he said Shepard changed his opinions about humans. That's one of the reasons she can relate to Saren, his feelings about humans are very similar to her feelings about batarians.
