I'm going to make new shepards, cause my main man shepard....the only shepard i have, is a colonist, and hes ruthless. So i want to make maybe another male shep and a female shepard.

oh btw Andauis, you missed on of those wacky thread moments we usually have, its a couple pages back. And also there is a photo-shopped picture of grunt and the space hamster which will make you face-palm.

For the most part, I like all of the crew. I'm still cool on Miranda, though. She's a less interesting, unsympathetic Julian Bashir (and not nearly as dreamy, and I say this as someone who also likes girls). Hell, she's a less interesting, unsympathetic Grunt. Grunt gets a lot of flak for being a poor man's Wrex, but he's got a surprising amount of depth to him. He feels weird that he's the 'perfect' krogan who's never gone through the adversity that defines his people.

I like Thane well enough, but I find his romance really offputting; I know a lot of women go for it, but I can't stand the whole pining love thing. And I don't think it's possible to talk to him normally without him starting to call you 'siha' and all...it just rubs me the wrong way (particularly because it's clearly not a friendly nickname, like Kasumi's 'Shep'). Reminds me too much of creepy guys who give you nicknames after hardly introducing themselves and then go on about how you're 'giving them signals'...I know I'm projecting a bit, but I can't shake the association. But I do like him outside of that! Wish you could interact with his son more. Just...not a fan of the romance.

I'm also lukewarm regarding Jack, but that's mostly because of her development and how it's inextricable from her romance. After her LM, I was like 'this is pretty world-shaking for her, maybe she will start to open up--' 'WHOA NOT A LESBIAN' :| Really burned me regarding the character as a whole. She's also got a lot of the Damaged Woman cliche, which also puts a bad taste in my mouth regarding her romance.

The more I think about Jacob the more I realize that he had a lot of potential but it gets totally killed by his inconsistent characterization and awful interactions. When I first played, I thought he had a kid (when you ask him about his family, he replies 'only child'. I guess I'm too used to interpreting clipped speech so I read it as 'only a child'), and when I realized he didn't it was like 'welp you got more boring real quick'.

I like Tali. Rolled a Manshep just to romance her (made it through ME1 in one night, 11 hours straight, woo). I also really dig Samara; I like paladins and the whole 'duty' thing, I really want to know more about her Code. Only 5000 sutras, and it covers 'every possible situation'? There's no way there's not some extrapolation in there...

Zaeed always seems kind of obnoxious to me. 'Ooh, I'm a hardass grimdark etc, look how cool I am'. Him jerking me around on his LM didn't endear me in the slightest, and while beating the ever-loving crap out of him in the Paragon path was nice, he pretty clearly gives in to you to save his own life rather than because he respects your authority. I liked Wrex and Canderous way better because they were more mellow; I never had to put a gun to their head to make them follow orders.

Legion is kind of the geth infodump, but it makes sense for him, because he IS the geth. 'No data available', huh? Are the geth developing emotions?

Mordin is the best character in Mass Effect and that is not up for debate okay.

But I always save all of them, regardless of how much I like them. Because I am the warrior of justice.

I get back from a stag do, and then read 15 pages of Garrrus thread in one go. I'm not sure the human brain is built to take that.

Inspired lunacy is inspired.

If you do want to know, however, here's a link to my fanfic that started it all.

I don't like to play a Shepard that's not me. The reason I like these kind of games is because I can create a character and make decisions the way I would IRL. I don't want to make up a character and play ME that way, it's hard enough playing as myself. Things like the genophage and the heretic geth really get me thinking.

I do have one renegade manShep, who I play because I want to see the different outcomes in ME3. But I really don't enjoy playing him, because he's the complete opposite of myself. Even though he's male and clearly not me, choosing renegade options (or skipping paragon interrupts) always makes me feel uncomfortable. In DA:O it's even worse with the (dis)approval thing. When party members disapprove with something I chose as my main Warden, I don't mind it. But choosing the 'evil' options on purpose.. it gives me a hard time. I'm too kind for this world :P

But hey, Garrus. Oooooohhh Garrus. (and sometimes the Presidium Groundskeeper )

You do have to put a gun to Wrex's head. On Virmire.

jesus man, like what happened to everyone? We used to have like at least a dozen frequent posters in this thread but not its like 4 or 5 people. It gets pretty empty in here sometimes. What we need is PGK or Garrus Vakarian to talk to. I wonder happend to Garrus, Ecael kind of decided not to play as him to much or something?

Yeah well....it would be nice to see this thread as active as it was about a couple months ago. They all just disappeared. I blame the collectors.

Blazen... why is it so important? The thread will move at it's own pace. :P Honestly, if the thread becomes too hoppin'... it discourages catch up. I know I've skipped pages of stuff simply because I didn't want to have to remember 8 or 10 points made 30 some odd pages ago.

And the Groundskeeper likes flowers... turians like flowers... so they know flower smells... this could be a good thing. ^.^

Well, I'm watching youtube videos to decide if me MaleShep should Paragon Tali and Legion (if he has the option) or just side with Tali... don't know about everyone else. They're probably just busy.

@Cerrydd: Actually, I'm the opposite. xD I bought Mass Effect to create a bunch of different Shepards to play. You're right about the decisions sometimes being difficult to figure out for a character. I'm surprised how much thought went into making a decision for random side missions with my current MaleShep, specifically the ones about Bhatia's wife and gene therapy for the baby. In the end, he made the opposite decisions as my MainShep. It was kind of surprising, but totally makes sense for him.

Not just sunday, i've been noticing overall that not to many people are showing up on this thread. Heck i'm here all the time, i see you guys around usually and ocasionally we have some people from the tali thread stopping by to say hi. But like at some points it takes us an entire day to post an entire page or two. I don't want it to be hopping fast like the tali thread but i also don't want it to be snail paced either.

But other then that, i agree with cerrydd, in rpg games its really hard not to play scenerios as i would have in real life. Its hard for me to pretend to be someone else.

Your Shepards sound really interesting Kim. Most Shepards don't seem to like Saren much. Roleplaying with Shepard can be fun, because sometimes Shepard can be dull without roleplaying.

here is an interesting thread to be talking about.

http://social.biowar...5/index/2701533

So really, who was at fault for that horrible mess in the first place? Personally i think it was a big misunderstanding on both parts, but i also thought the turians acted over-aggressively, and the council was at fault for not stopping it sooner. It took them 3 months to step in. It was like they where being entertained that the turians were going to wipe out the humans, but then when the alliance came they decided that the war was going to "devastate the galaxy" and stepped in.
