If it done right then you have nothing to worry about ( Transformers, Batman, DOA, etc) and if its bad who gives a ****. Also its being made by Legendary Pictures ( The Dark Knight, 300, Watchmen ) so there should be nothing to worry about.Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...
i really hope that they don't make it into a reality, you know how it is with the movie franchises ruining good books and games right?

Now I wonder what turians will look like in the movies, if they'll look "real" enough or kind of fake. I think they could make good turians if they really tried. I hope they would all have the same voices though. It wouldn't bother me if they didn't, but it would seem a little off if they all had different voices.

There's often talk comparing turian culture to human, but in what ways can you imagine turians being truly alien? A way of thinking, of moving, of acting, of seeing that is truly foreign to you. What about humans do you imagine comes across as truly foreign to a turian, even after they've been exposed to the Council races for nearly a millennia.
The closest I've gotten is their flanging speech, a vocal cord over vocal cord. Their speech is translated as a single sentence spoken at one time because that's how a human's speak. But with two vocal cords active at once, I can imagine both actually producing completely different sounds from the other. Two different statements being spoken at one time. Subject and predicate spoken at the same time.

He said himself that he is not a good Turian. He thinks very deferent for the average Turian.Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...
Turians and humans actually act somewhat similar, though the turians come of a little more "trigger happy" if you ask me. Their culture and government is far different from humans though. Though it makes me wonder, what made garrus jump on with commander shepard so quickly? I mean sure he hated C-SEC, but with all the anti-human propaganda around, what made him decide so quickly? Did he ever have second thoughts?

In mass effect 1 though he seemed like he was kind of a turian loyalist, he was trying to restore the good name of his race. Maybe, did he seriously have that mentality when he joined shepard?

I always saw it as him being very dedicated to taking down Saren. But beyond that, the opportunity to shadow a Spectre presented itself and he took it.

I believe so. After all he says when a good Turian hears a bad order they follow it with out question. Garrus on the other hand his actions make him more of a Turian renegade in my opinion.Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...

The main reason why Garrus joined up with Shepard so fast was because he wanted to track down Saren. He doesn't have anything against humans, so he wouldn't mind working with one.
Anyway, most of the Mass Effect aliens seem to be physically different from humans, but they're very human-like in personality. I guess the Reapers like them that way. So do I.

In what ways are they different? How is a client race different from, say, an Eastern Bloc country of Soviet Russia. Or the Turian method of serving the state different from countries that require a period of military service or a communist nation? How are they more trigger happy than a war-torn Earth nation?Mr.BlazenGlazen wrote...

Discussions of similarities are easy enough to come by, but not so much for discussions on ways they are not. Humanizing them makes it easier to relate to them, easier to sympathize with them. I'm curious to know how an acceptance of turians survives true differences.
Think of a turian's teeth structure. Imagine them being true carnivores, like eating of anything plant-based is actually unhealthy to them or a strictly vegetarian diet could kill them. Or if they have to dig into flesh to maintain their teeth, that they continue growing if otherwise unkept.
I know it's not canon, it's taking what little we know of them and actually imagining where that goes. But what's the purpose of a galaxy full of aliens if they can't be alien in some manner?

Very different to why he joined you in ME2. In ME1 it was to follow in the footsteps of a spectre, but in me2. I mean yeah he did almost die and you brought him back to life, but he had every opportunity to leave if he wanted to. Do you think it was because of the same reasons in ME1 or do you think it was something completely different.
In ME1 Garrus joins Shepard with the mind set of a Turian 'Loyalist', trying to return some honor to his species by taking down the renegade Sarian. But during his time with Shepard he makes the final transition to becoming a renegade. Garrus discovers what his true feelings are , seeing things in black or white.

So what was his real reason for helping shepard in ME2? Revenge? Helping shepard save the galaxy? Or do you think it might be something deeper then that?Sand King wrote...

In ME2 I think he rejoins Shepherd because he wants to. They are friends and he knows Shepherd needs his help. What's more, he knows about the Reapers and understands the importance of stopping them. He's a dedicated, driven friend.

In my opinion the events of ME1 forged a very deep emotional bond between Shepard and Garrus, it grows in to love (if FemShep) and brotherhood (MaleShep). Shepard gives Garrus (how do I put this) focus, some thing that drives him ( I’m not to sure how to describe it).

The other reason is the Reapers. But now I wonder, would Garrus know about the Reapers if he wasn't recruited in ME1, or does he just find out after Shepard recruits him in ME2?
Of course, everyone here recruited Garrus in ME1. xD I'm just trying to consider all of the possibilities.
