Have you guys talked about this yet: Casey Interview
CH: But there are people who are totally in love with Miranda. She was a simpler character I think, but a lot of people really responded to her. I'm always amazed at the way people respond to different characters. One of the most reproduced moments in fan art that I've seen is characters female Shepard with Garrus in the end of their romance. It's not even a love scene. They kind of hug and put their heads together. Obviously for a lot of people that meant a lot to them because there are hundreds and hundreds of paintings out there that people have done of that moment that they're sharing.
I don't like the way he called Miranda "simpler" and I don't like the way he said it "wasn't even a love scene". It was one of the most touching love scenes I've seen in a game.

I think he just meant that there wasn't anything overt in the romance scene in terms of animations implying intimacy.
IMO, most of what CH would refer to as ‘love scenes’ in videogames look cheesy as hell. The Garrus scene is pitched perfectly – touching, intimate, classy. Had it actually been a ‘love scene’ in the sense Casey meant it, then I think we’d have mostly gone ‘whut?’
Mass Effect movie always makes me

. I’d LOVE to see another story set in the same universe, but I don’t want to see Shepard’s story again (I’ve always thought that making film versions of games that are cinematic and story heavy in the first place is a waste of time. I’d rather play the game).
I’m very much an advocate of seeing the contact war brought to the screen. I think that it would be a good way to introduce the universe to people who haven’t played the games, and it’s part of the canon history most of us who have are interested in. Not to mention it would allow for epic turian battles! XD
Personally, I’ve never seen a screen adaptation of a video game that was anywhere like as good as said game deserved (although cobbling together a storyline from stuff already covered in the game itself probably doesn’t help matters on that front). Prince of Persia I have yet to see…. But I’m sure that the game will have been better. I think adaptations always suffer from one of 2 main problems: they are either a soulless attempt to cash-in on a popular franchise and so the original material doesn’t get treated with the concern it deserves, or the people making the film are too big fans of the source material, and zone in on their favourite thing or whatever, but miss the bigger picture and so the overall film ends up being incoherent or even worse, boring. (Superman Returns, anyone? How can someone who claims to be such a huge fan miss the point by such a wide mark? And 300 and The Watchmen movies looked the part, but they were ultimately lacking a certain soul, IMO). The other issue that an ME movie based on Shepard’s story would certainly suffer from is that it would set in stone this idea of ‘canon’ Shepard. How many ME players do you think are playing that version? I sometimes find it hard enough watching YouTube of other Shepards, so I think seeing it on the big screen would make me feel like my choices were somehow invalidated.

Wouldn't C-Sec's files go along with what the Council wants everyone to believe, that it was just Saren's geth ship that attacked the Citadel? Garrus would have known about the attack, and possibly that it wouldn't be the only attack, but I'm not sure how he could have known about the Reapers (or at least the details) if he didn't hear it from Shepard.
Even without recruiting him, he still has access to the files where Saren talks about Reapers. Garrus being Garrus, do you think that a little thing like Shepard telling him ‘no’ is going to stop him taking that further?

I have another question for consideration for you all.
What would you like to see in the Garrus romance in ME3? Besides continuation, of course.
Well, I want to go to a turian home world (hopefully Palaven) and see turian reaction to it. I want to know more about Papa Vakarian, and Garrus’ family. I don’t need to meet them, but I want to know. I also want more of Garrus defending Shepard a la Horizon. In terms of character and story development…. Well, I would like to see Garrus really open up to Shepard properly, just once. And vice versa. I don’t really want big epic declarations of love: neither Shep nor Garrus are the type. But I want a sense of where they are headed (depending on the state of the universe at game end, that is). Resolution of the Sidonus thing is a must as well. Basically, give me closure.
I want different dialogue for romanced/non romanced Garrus. That’s different, not ‘extra’. I’d also like a couple of different routes to take said romance depending on the path Garrus is on…. But that’s probably asking too much.
Moments of intimacy (both physical and emotional) interspersed throughout the game. (Why can BW characters only seem to have sex once per story. And in ME’s case, only right before almost certain death?). More LI specific dialogue available on missions (Not for every single scenario, but here and there it would be nice. Also if my LI is in the party and the time comes to comment, the comment should come from them unless someone else’s story makes it more appropriate.)
I’d love an LI specific mission. Even a small one. Some kind of personal favour or errand, maybe even just speaking to an NPC on the citadel. Give us a mini-mission, then have an outcome or conversation about it.
I want the ability to talk about missions (the big ones, anyway) with my LI after they happen. Get an honest opinion from them on specific events that will affect our relationship (actually, ideally there would be short convos like this available with everyone, but I’m guessing that’d be too big an undertaking).
Comments on the romance from other squad members.
MORE DIALOGUE MORE DIALOGUE MORE DIALOGUE I had a thought last night after the threesome bit in DA:O. I would like Shiala to come on to Shepard again and offer sex, and if the LI is in the party, they should have an invitation offered as well. Purely because I want the opportunity to see Garrus’ reaction to such a proposition.
@Cerrydd. That art is win!

Good luck for 900, guys! As always, someone post alcohol for me please!
