Garrus Love and Adoration v.2

Priestly just locked the Tali thread and told us all to never start another one.
So, it looks like I need a new home on these forums.
You don't mind if I hang around awhile?

Turian blood is not blue becouse of the dextro-DNA. They just have something else instead of hemoglobin.
Hmm...I was gonna quote the Wiki, but it seems they modified the text. It used to say that turian blood was blue because of hemocyanin, which was consistent with a dextro-DNA structure. Now it says that hemocyanin is consistent with a metallic exoskeleton structure.
My bad then, sorry. Or well, the Wiki's bad too, since they seemingly didn't know what they were talking about.

Someone must have changed the wiki since last you looked at it. Now says the blood is likely blue due to hemocyanin rather than hemoglobin.Nilfalasiel wrote...
Yeah, the first time that I came across this issue was on Freedom's Progress, when Tali's team got butchered. I remember thinking "Heeey...quarian blood is red. Hang on, they're dextro-DNA...shouldn't it be blue, like turian blood?" (according to the Wiki, turian blood is blue because they're dextros)

I have no idea.
We were on-topic and things were fine.
Then Priestly comes in, saying we're unreasonable or some bull****, and locks us down for good.
It's gonna be hell when everyone else gets back online later today.

This thread is mostly always on topic so i don't think it will get locked any time soon.

I never paid that much attention to alien blood. Only when Garrus took that rocket to the face, because the entire floor was blue with blood.
But that makes me think of something. Say, Shep has a giant wound and Garrus has a giant wound too. If some blood of him drops into her wound, could that provoke an allergic reaction too? I suck at biology, but that makes me wonder about that.

Tali fan art and her loyalty mission seemed pretty on-topic to me. I'm still not following where this leads to a lock.
But then again, this is a Garrus thread. I should bring something.

Perhaps it is now time to leave forums. Locking is one thing. Never starting a new one... seems too severe.

I also love that turquoise color in that comic (Also pretty awesome comic, ha!). I never paid attention to the blood spatters or colors, so I find it so interesting you guys do! I guess most of you are better at following that stuff than I am <<.

I think you can only get allergic reactions from eating dextro stuff.
I see no reason why that would cause a reaction.

Seriously, we had been very on-topic since I started posting, like two hours ago.
As much as I'd love to vent though, this isn't the place for that. It's about the badass turian in Team Dextro.

So it only happens when you, uhm, ingest? Because of the different amino acid level, I don't think it would be good if their blood mixes up and enters their body?
Like I said, I suck at biology, so I'm just making things up now.

I see your point. Still not sure what kind of reaction would it cause.

Well, Mordin says that ingesting turian tissue can also cause an allergic reaction. Therefore, it's anything that's dextro-DNA based that causes the reaction. Dextro-food would also be based on dextro-DNA.
So yes, accidentally getting the two blood types mixed would also run the risk of an allergic reaction. But again: it's just a risk, not a certainty, and Shep's pretty much a cyborg anyway. Don't see her getting a massive anaphylactic shock or anything.
As for blood colours:
Turian: blue
Krogan: orange
Asari: purple
Salarian: green
Don't know what colour any other race bleeds (quarian: red is disqualified, because of the blood mixups in ME2).

Every race besides those, and possibly hanar, elcor, and volus, bleed red. Makes Terra Firma's slogan pretty stupid, actually. Don't know what you mean by "blood mixups" though.Nilfalasiel wrote...

Either an allergic reaction or -more realistically- it just passes throught the system without effect or imparting any nutritional value.
I always thought it was strange that Mordin would give Shepard that piece of advice, given that any bartender
