While DAT SCAR (doesn't have the same ring as DEM HIPS) is sexy, I was a bit dissapointed that killing Cathka did't stop the gunship from attacking, allowing Garrus to keep his smooth, hi-res face.silentstephi wrote...
That scene with him getting the rocket to the face... I love the touch here, with his bloody nose...
It was def a good touch.
Just not sure if the raw wound on his face should be so red... maybe more purple? I dunno. It looks good regardless (the scar!)

STD's can be transmitted through the eyes (mucuous membrane), so it could still be a problem. But that's only if Shepard is indeed sensitive for this. Still, pretty interesting, because there's no battle without blood.
Well we don't even know how turian diseases affect humans. I have to think about what Tali said that when she got some sickness from Pressly she just had a fever but maybe just becouse she is a quarian.

That was a great screenshot, stephi! Never noticed that about the bloody nose...but then, that scene is so awful (I mean it's a great scene, you know what I mean), I never study it too much. But a good, clear shot of his teeth, as well.
And I always wondered about how his scar is kind of pinkish, but I chalked it up to an effect of the 3rd-degree burn. When I got burned, my skin turned completely inappropriate colors until it healed up (at one point, it was absolutely black for a while).

lol, of course not. But if a disease can travel through the eyes, it might as well be able to cause an allergic reaction.
Or not, because Shepard is a superzombie that doesn't even die from drinking ryncol. I don't think Garrus' blood would cause a problem for her, but it's still interesting to think about.

She didn't catch Chicken Pox, she got an allergic reaction to the virus.
It wouldn't even bother Garrus.

I would never try to mod my Xbox version, even though I know it's possible. I would probably just break the game.silentstephi wrote...
AM I alone in not wanting to mod my ME game? I mean, as much as I'd love to see Garrus walking around in black (/swoons) I'm just... bleck about modding ME. I've modded Dragon Age, it was a pain, not sure I'll do that again.
I've futzed with my WoW UI, but ME is fine the way it is.
Though admittedly, the lulzy Zombie Garrus/Thane Effect are priceless. XD
If I had a separate PC version, I would definitely try to learn how to mod it. From what I've seen on the forums, the guides are detailed enough even for me to understand them. xD But I don't think my PC could handle the game, so... that won't happen for quite some time.
Most of the mods would be for my Shepards, but some of the Garrus mods look really cool too, like the armor mods, that new casual outfit, and Nihlus' face. (Now that I think of it, shouldn't that work with any turian face in the game?)

Just my hypothesis, but I think what puts a thread in most danger of being locked is the signal-to-noise ratio. For instance, if I ended my post here, that would be noise.Xsause wrote...
Does this mean that I won't be able to post my silly Garrus comics any more?
If I said that Garrus was my bro and left it at that, followed by ten others in agreement, that would be on-topic noise.
If I wanted to talk more about how hemocyanin might be a possible cause for Garrus's blue blood and how that relates to the creatures of Earth with a similar vascular system, we're likely to be under the category of signal. I might also mention how those creatures with such a system tend to be invertebrates and given that turians have an exoskeleton of sorts, if it's even possible that they are some hybrid of an invertebrate/vertebrate system.
I never bought into the idea that dextro-amino ingestion had a considerable risk of anaphylactic shock. You could possible have humans who are incredibly allergic to turians in the way they are allergic to bees or peanuts. I figured the worst most people would get with dextro-amino ingestion is that the system simply doesn't recognize the amino acids, can't process it, and it just goes straight on through.
Oh, and silly Garrus comics probably also fall under the category of signal.

I've seen the query about the exoskeleton come up in the Wiki I think.
Exoskeleton in the codex is a bit of a misnomer - they don't actually mean turians are covered in an exoskeleton. I think it was a comparison.
Other than possibly the hanar, I don't ME 'verse has a sapient invertebrate species. And I'm not totally positive the "jellies" are invertebrates.
I'm curious though what it says about Palaven: it's metal poor core... so all the metal was in the mantle/crust? Otherwise, why would they have metallic skin/plates to protect them? What kind of metals? I wonder if that's almost like skin tone with humans... there's definitely some distinct skin tones out there for Turians.
Gah, after my even this weekend, I'm scouring the CCN for all the turian stuff and compiling. I need more turian lore. Some day I will match those tat's with their colonies!!!

I wondered about that too. I didn't even buy the upgrade on my first playthrough because my Shepard who romanced Garrus wouldn't just get her scars healed when he has to keep his (although, she was a Paragade and didn't need it anyway). The MaleShep I'm playing in ME1 right now won't use it either, and he's more likely to keep those scars without the upgrade. It just seems cruel for them to fix their own faces and leave their boyfriend/best friend with a scar that's much worse.CalJones wrote...
I do wonder why the Medbay Upgrade facial scar healer wouldn't work for Garrus. Not that I mind the scars but the poor guy has to wear an ear ****** for the entire game...

I don't even bother paying for that upgrade any more. It doesn't help your crew, and if you're a paragon you don't keep your scars, and a renegade wouldn't care. But, mostly... why should my Shep get healed when Garrus can't?
