Alright, here's the bit I'm talking about:

Image IPB

I believe it's missing on the right side.

@ Kim Shepard: No, he still has the bandage in the DLC armour. He just has a mouthpiece stuck to it.

On a picture-related note, I found a gorgeous piece of Garrus/Shep fanart...but it's NSFW. Should I still post the link? Image IPB It's nothing mentally scarring...just a lot of skin involved.

Do it. Although they've probably all seen it.

I wasn't sure about that part. At times I thought it was missing but mostly that I might be seeing wrong since it doesn't stand out so much.

It's better to keep NSFW out of this thread right now.

As for the DLC armor:

Image IPB

The beerstraws (that are supposed to be microphones) are attached to the bandage. It's coming right out of his head. I don't know why.

Doesn't Garrus have his bandages off in the DLC alternate armor? Can someone take a screenshot of that?

He still has a bandage on, but it looks "cleaned up" compared to the non-DLC profile.

Edit:  It's from the alternate appearance pack.

Yeah, I figured, which is why I asked. It's really not that bad, but it does seem to be a bit of a minefield around here at the mo'.

'Tis ok, I'll just save it for better days.

You guys also noticed that he has green eyes and tanned skin before the rocket to the face? But then after his skin is all white and his eyes lost a lot of color to them.

I try to avoid using a lot of animal body part names for the aliens. They're supposed to be our equals, so it's not a talon, it's a hand, even if it is three-fingered with claws.

I understand your reasoning, but I would rather call it a talon.  Yes, the entire structure is more handlike than say the talons of an eagle or something, but I like that it serves to make the alien-turian difference more up-front.  Besides, I'm not willing to say there isn't something really un-handlike (is that a word? durr) going on under those gloves with skin/scale textures, nails/claws, some kinds of other small structures we can't see...we just don't know for sure.  So for me, I still prefer to say talon.

I know you were referring to other body parts too and just picked the talon as an example (right?), but I wanted to put in my 2 credits here. :)

eta:  Haha, I forgot to say the main thing which was my impetus behind this whole post:  I don't think that using our animal body part names for the aliens is demeaning or implying they're not equal or something.  We're just anthropomorphizing (is that the correct use of the word here?) based on what is familiar to us.  Just my opinion.

Thanks for the screenshots. :) I haven't seen the DLC armor too often, so I guess I overlooked them because of the new microphones.

It's still really hard to tell if any pieces are missing, or if it's just the angle. I'll just go with "Poor Garrus!" and leave it at that. xD

Here's some snap shots of the scarred side, with the DLC armor.

I think that bandage is holding that particular mandible to his head too... it seems like since the ear/jaw part is where he sustained lot of damage, it'd make sense. That side of his face also has a bit more of a droop to it, at least the mandible does.

The new DLC armor fixed the gaping hole in the front, but just added the mic/beer straws to his face.

I hope they never get rid of the scar itself, but I wouldn't mind if they update the look on the side of his face. They really don't have to though. He looks clothes meltable without. ^.^

I didn't realize that before (real observant, ain't I? LOL!)
Wow...that's kind of...um, not goofy, what's the word? Image IPB
Not sure how I feel about their attachment, I might like it I might hate it, I must reach an internal consensus.
I do like the armor overall though and I did buy it.

Fixed :P

Maybe they'll edit the scar to make it look more 'aged', because I can't imagine it will look exactly the same. Unless ME3 starts right where ME2 stopped, which I am expecting... we'll have to see. But I'm really curioust to see what's under that bandage.

Maybe something for the next romance scene :innocent:

I think it's more they're attached to the "bandage" which almost makes it seem much more sturdy than it is.  Who knows, maybe like in Oxide's pic, underneath, there's a cybernetic part and the straws are connected to that.  It's still plugged into his head, but it's not like it's just random.
For ref, koucha's pic of awesome:

@ Cer: Heee, indeed.

Re: animal/alien parts - I remember seeing the talon ref in the CCN, so I didn't mind that ref so much. Now that we've also heard they have gizzards... which makes me wonder... like actual ones, so he has to eat rocks to digest? How does that work? Imagine giving him a gift, and it's like shiny rocks to grind his dinner with, er something. Or that's like an appetizer at a turian restaurant he and Shep go to. HILARITY ENSUES. XD

Chim: I voted in your poll. It'd probably be a good idea, just so we can all KIT. And I'll help you maintain it if you like ^.^

Not necessarily. According to the Infinite Source of Wisdom that is Wikipedia, some gizzards (insects and molluscs) have chitin plates inside to grind up food. But bird gizzards do require pebbles.

Here's a link to the article, if anyone's curious: clicky.

Danke Nil, I shall read up on that.  I was curious XD
As for the move, I'm fine with it.  I usually navigate to this thread via my BW home page, so no matter where it is, I'm happy.  I'm hoping this means they'll expand the Characters Sub forum desc a bit to say that this is the place to discuss the NPCs/Squaddies as well as your Shepard.
It makes sense. ^.^
Plus, spoilers are allowed here, so it's alll good.
