Gah, I knew it didn't quite look right yet. Someone got a relatively big sized garrus pick with a helmet? I've always loved his helmet anyways. I'll check back in the morning for it. It can be ME1 or 2, doesn't really matter.

Hmm, I wonder than too.

Could be the latest fashion appeal. Don't want to see a turian equivalent of Kaidan helmet.

Now thinking about it, ME needs more turian fashion!

I have to say, Turians are the best designed aliens I've ever seen in science fiction.

Garrus' helmet: Original purpose is to block out the pixelation on the PC, while now it's upgraded to 'cool' accessory.

Actually, I like Garrus' ME2 helmet. ME1 helmet for Garrus looked very much a motorcycle helmet.

I think Bioware really hit a home run with them. Making them different enough that they really seem like aliens instead of say....blue women... but making them have enough of a resemblance that their emotions can still be conveyed across their faces and players still get it. Their culture's not stereotypical  of basic sci-fi tropes in any way but still seems logically structured and believable.

Overall, very well done.

Hey Clan V. I brought...rum! No? Okay.

I had to add my 2 creds to the whole Garrus/Friend with Benefits senario. Obviously, how you personally RP your Shep is how you are going to perceive the relationship. I know we all have different attitudes to how Garrus interprets this new proposition from Shep (although most on  this tread seem to agree it is not just friends), but I think it is Shep's pick up line (if that is what you'd call it) that sets Garrus up. <_<

We've discussed how Garrus feels in each convo...but it is our Shep that has been the one to cause the confusion. If we had the option to say 'Hey, Gar, you know I really respect you and think we would be good
together. You want to give it a shot?"
(cough. no pun intended). Then I think Garrus, in my game-view anyway, would have been all for it. Not  only that, there would have been clearer boundaries/expectations between
them. Sheps "ya wanna try that reach out, big boy?"line would make any potential LI think 'okay, she just wants to keep this casual'.

But he doesn't want casual...and the more he thinks about it, the more he knows that. "Perhaps you could find something closer to home..." to me meant "if you just want a fling then why not try someone else and not stuff up
what we have..."
Not anything to do with the Levo/Dextro thing.

BTW I am still thinking that Mordin was just pulling legs with that  whole 'do not ingest' line btw and that there is no real danger unless you happen to be a tiny percentage allergic to Turian sp...never mind.

As for the facepaint/tattoo thing. Yeah, 'twas me with the henna suggestion. Sheps comment on 'slap some face paint on there...'is what made me think that it might need maintenance but not be a daily ritual. Otherwise I  would have an image of Shep and Garrus arguing over who gets the mirror in the morning... I was thinking it would be a dye that needs tidying up every few months or so. Don't know why, just seemed to fit for me.
Random thoughts are random. Rum is bad, children, stay away from it! :police:

EDIT: I fail at formatting...bring more rum:devil:

I also think Mordin was joking around. If there is truth to it, it's probably minimal. He seemed intent on picking the most uncomfortable sexual mayhem conversation he could devise for all the possible romances. This is a man who likes to use farm equipment. He has an evil sense of humor.

Yeah, there has been A LOT of emphasis put on this whole anaphylactic shock thing...and, hey, I will be the first to admit that biology is NOT my strong point. But I thought it would be a non event rather than 'Shep, why are you frothing at the mouth?  Shep? Shep!" I honestly thought Mordin was just being a teasing so and so. Shep even says 'are you yanking my chain'or something?'

I am sure, if it really was as dangerous, then it would be well known/documented in-game: ie "Thinking of going all the way with your signficant turian other? Well, come to Doctor Chaffie's allergy clinic for a free test..." :pinched:
Same goes for Mordin's smexy talk about Thane...toad licking hallucinations? C'mon people, it was a joke! :P

Or maybe it is just me

Don't blame me...the rum made me do it :wizard:

I'd go so far as to say the Garrus romance is definitely something more than just a fling. He directly states that he doesn't have a thing for humans (and let's be real, when you just want casual sex or friends with benefits, you can dance with language all you like but the simple fact of the matter is stuff like that only happens if there's physical attraction involved), and just cares about Shepard specifically. I got the very clear impression that Garrus really found the physical aspect of it to be....I suppose weird is the word I'm searching for but it doesn't feel quite appropriate. It seemed to me like he cared about Shepard on the emotional level of the one person in the galaxy he trusts and respects above all others, and the physical thing frankly looks more like he's just going along with Femshep's overtly flirty tone because he feels like it's what she wants.

If I really thought this was the case, I would actually never romance Garrus. I couldn't bear to do that to anybody, even a fictional character. Either you enjoy every aspect of a romantic relationship, or you don't. I don't think it's worth it otherwise; no matter how much you persuade yourself, in the end, it won't be fulfilling for either party involved. It's better to just stay friends in a situation like that, because sex as a favour is just plain sad. Heck, if I were Shepard, I'd actually feel somewhat hurt and/or offended, if that's what I thought it was. I'd also feel that Garrus deserves better. Besides, she gives him an out specifically based on this assumption (asking him if he's uncomfortable with the idea), which he turns down. Garrus is nothing if not honest, and I don't think he'd ever do anything *just* to please Shepard; if he was irrevocably weirded out by the prospect, he'd say so. It's not like she'd stop trusting him if he didn't sleep with her; in fact, she'd probably respect him more for being truthful. So there must be physical attraction of some kind, even if, as janeym27 put it a while ago, had Shepard just been a random human in a bar, he wouldn't have gone "I'd so hit that": it's dependent on the emotional bond.

Aaanyways...what's this about a turian who likes donuts? I've heard about him before, but I've never actually come across him in game. Where on Noveria is he?

@ Rebe70: Lol @ Shep and Garrus fighting over the mirror in the morning. And yeah, I think Mordin is definitely exaggerating with the sex advice, but the thought of Shep tripping out after giving Thane a lick always makes me giggle. But it's true that, if alcohol before a suicide mission is a bad idea, surely hallucinogens are an even worse one. Makes me wonder what Shep's night with Thane would be like if she had a bad trip...Oh dear Posted Image

*Shep wakes up on the floor of her room, feeling groggy. Thane is standing next to her her with a hand over his eye.*

Shep: Urgh...I feel like hell. What's going on?

Thane: You, uh...licked my neck and then punched me in the eye, siha. Then you jumped out of bed, screaming something about spiders with knives, tripped over your clothes, hit your head on the floor and passed out.

EDI: We are nearing the Omega 4 Relay. ETA, 10 minutes.

Shep: Ah crap...

Only played it once so could have a broken remembery here...but I think he was one of the guards in the main area/foyer...beside one of the water features where you first come in...just below the Hanar needing things smuggled...gah, I am no help whatsoever! :?

Will have to play it again now and try to suck back that fun that is the Mako! But it is nice to see Garrus always fixing it...especially after my drivingB)

I saved, quit, and downloaded it immediately after Garrus walked into the briefing room. "Ummm...Garrus? You've got a little blood, umm...all over your collar. And speaking of your collar, I can only imagine the holes that autocannon punched everywhere else it hit, so, uh....let's go buy you some new armor, okay?"

That Jack's Neuromancer outfit looks fantastic in the post-loyalty-mission shuttle scene was an added bonus.

Getting more of an insight to Garrus' family would be interesting. However I'm not sure what his personal mission in ME3 would be. Possibly, it may be something to display the changes of paragon or renegading Garrus.

I’d like this. I actually like when the interaction you can have with a character actually properly effects that character in some way (hardened Alistair in DA:O to get the threesome. Felt crappy about it afterwards, so reloaded. But the fact that there was a noted character change which could actually influence in-game outcomes was pretty cool. ) It would be great if there was a mission which played out differently based on choices you had guided Garrus towards in earlier games.

It might be nice to pick up on the back of the Sidonus thing: if you let him walk, what were the consequences of what he did next? Had he really changed? Was Garrus able to let go? If not, then what did that ‘revenge’ do to Garrus? Is there anyone out there who would like to take revenge on Garrus for killing Sidonus in return? (obviously, this is a tad clichéd, but I’m just speculating. BW write better than I do. Lol)

I would love to get a better insight into Garrus’ family, but I don’t think we necessarily need to meet his family to do this (although, I have rather fallen in love with the outlandish idea that David Bowie should play Papa Vakarian and have a, “Son, I am disappoint.” conversation with him!Posted ImagePosted Image)  I want to know more about turian family structure in general. For example: is Garrus an only child? Do turians generally have small family units or large ones? Is there some kind of ‘Clan’ system of extended family that a turian has a responsibility to, or is this covered under the general ‘for the good of  all society’ turian ethos? From which parent does a child take their name? Who generally does the raising? Does title and right pass through the male or female bloodline? Etc. I could go on and on. Obviously, I can’t see us ever finding out all these things, but I feel like at the moment, turian general society and family life is the one we know the least about in comparison to the other main races in the ME universe.

A comic series like ME: Redemption, but instead of Liara it follows Garrus and his squad on Omega.

It would be awesome.

Nah. What you want (and I’ve said it before) is Garrus: The Omega Years the video game!
Spin-off where Garrus reaches Omega, gathers his team, pisses off the mercs, and ends with a mad, all out offensive on the various mercenary groups, before an epic battle for survival back at him home base! Final scene (if you’ve kept Garrus alive) is him scoping the bridge when a familiar face walks into his vision. Garrus smiles. Fade to black.

This.

Also, regarding the “we get too hung up on the anaphylactic shock” thing: I think it’s fun to focus on that for the lulz. Xsause’s “Of course I want to have sex which could possibly kill me” line is still one of my favourite things on the internet.  I’m certain Mordin was joking (although not so much with his chafing comment...Posted Image), but then this begs the question: how sure is Shepard that this is the case? At the back of her mind, is she thinking “Do not ingest. Do not ingest. Do not ingest.” And attempting not to looked freaked? Also: if he said that to her, lord knows what Mordin told Garrus! Besides, science proved it was not true. In fact, Garrus tastes like sugar. So there. Posted Image

I saw parts of the rejection scene, but I wasn't able to see the whole thing, I just went to a different page instead. That's why I don't want to rewatch it - of the parts I've seen, it's bad. I can't remember much of it in detail but yea.

Very true. Unfortunately I'm not sure if they are going to the personal mission route in ME3. It's possible that having certain squad mates around (for Garrus, variability on whether you paragon/renegade/neutral him, etc) for certain missions, there is extra flavor dialog, and a few extra choices.

What  would be extremely cool is a cel-shaded animation video game spin-off of Garrus and his two years adventures. It would look totally wicked!

I wonder if Shep actually ever took any precautions against that. I've always wondered what the purpose of the shower scene in the Garrus romance was...Maybe she slathered herself in lotion afterwards? Although, if she didn't, it gives Garrus some interesting foreplay options right there Posted Image

Along the same lines, Mordin warns MaleShep to use disinfectant before doing anything with Tali. Yet he doesn't seem to ever do it (he's wearing his normal clothes when Tali comes in, which means that any disinfecting he may have done was pointless), and there doesn't seem to be much opportunity for him to do it afterwards...And disinfectant is a lot less sexy as a foreplay option...Posted Image Maybe it's because Shep disregards the disinfecting that Tali gets sick afterwards?

Also: if he said that to her, lord knows what Mordin told Garrus! Posted Image

If Mordin had anything to do with Garrus' choice of music, I would lol. Although he seems to stick to physiological advice, so I doubt it. Shame.
