Alright, sorry about that. If anyone wishes to discuss Mary Sue or Asari, please use the "Character Discussion Group" link in my thread, we talk about both subjects a lot there. Buggirl, if you'd like to continue the discussion, I welcome you to start a new thread about it in the group and we can continue from there :)

So, Garrus. One thing I've been thinking about is how he was introduced to the player. He is arguing with someone about wanting more time to catch Saren, he is getting frustrated by authority and the laws - in other words, the red tape. This to me really captures part of his character, because he is really about doing things without worrying (or something similar) too much about the red tape, about in some ways doing things his way.

That may change if you paragon him, but that's how he is initially at least. Aftewards, you see him again in Dr. Michel's office - and he's a good shot. So you see he's action orientated and willing to take initiative against criminals and those threatening innocent people.

That's also part of his character. It's very important I think, since first impressions can (not always though) be vital to how people think of the character.

Doesn't really change at all in his character. No matter if paragoned or Renegaded him he still takes to quitting his job and hunting criminals in Omega.

True. However, I'm not sure what paragoning him in ME1 and/or ME2 will result in ME3.

Will do Collider.

In keeping with this thread I would just like to reiterate my love and adoration for one of the best written characters in ME2 - one Garrus Vakarian.

Well we pretty much know he's goign to be with Shep and stopping the Reapers. :P I just guess his meaness t osnarky levels will eb adjusted. I presonally Renegaded the hell out of him in Me 1 and in ME 2 I always talked to him about if he was sure if that Idea was for the best and what not before I helped him off Sidonus.

Hell yes. Everyone loves Garrus (well, most people do...). It's difficult not to think that he's an awesome character.

Hey y'all. Me again. Back with another question about Turian biology. The.. um.. edges of a turian's mouth. They move, if I recall correctly.. they're flexible, sorta... But.. Would you call them lips?

(I'm not talking about the mandibles here, I'm talking about the parts you can see 'inside' there..

They don't have lips like humans, but i think they do have something that does resemble lips.

They are lips by definition. May feel strange to call them that though...

Lips:

1. (countable) Either of the two fleshy protrusions around the opening of the mouth.

That fits the description of Turian mouth...edges.

Yeah. That's kinda why I was asking, hehe. I guess.. They surround the mouth, so they're lips? But it feels weird calling them that. Asari have lips. Salarians have lips. Even Batarians have lips. But Turians? Mouth... edges...

I wonder exactly how much movement they have there. You really only sort of see them wobble back and forth a bit when G's talking.

Fleshy protrusions, lol.

The mouth edges are a bit flexible, but not much. You sometimes see some movements in those 'lips'.

And of course it makes everybody wonder what turian language sounds like. We need our lips to pronounce some letters like the 'P', don't know what kind of sound comes out of those... mouth edges.

If the translator made everybody sound like Brandon Keener...

But yeah, I know it's a translator, but that still makes me wonder about turian language. But that doesn't matter, because we'll never hear it :(

who knows, it might be cool if there was a point in ME3 that your translators glitched.

That would be as sweet as liquid sugar... What? I'd pay money to hear turians speak their natural languare. I mean we got to hear batarian in BDtS.

This is true, although what they sound like isn't necessarily related to the flexibility and range of movement of their lips. Human lips are flexible and have good range of movement because a human's flesh allows it, which begs the question how "hard" is Garrus' mouth?

I can stick around while trying to draw shenanigans. I didn't really pay attention to Mass Effect 2 news until the game was out so I knew nothing going into the game. Was awesome seeing trigger happy turian cop go vigilante.

As for translators glitching, I'd love that.

Man I stll have 900 something pages to catch up to reading, haha.

Well you need hard and soft palletes to help make certain sounds.  Also front teeth help to ennunciate harder sounds.
