So...I was really lazy and only used the Hammerhead once on my first play-through. I thought Garrus was speaking since he was on my team. Now on my second play-through it occurs to me that the Hammerhead has a voice.



And it is impressive!

I'll need to take a looksee at your fanfic sometime zalmi. Anyway whats up guys? I just got myself a brand new laptop and i'm so glad i'm replacing it with this piece of crap that i'm writing on, can't even open up windows movie maker/media player and has problems playing minesweeper.

Wow, the thread's getting close to 1,000 posts. xD I'm not even going to try to catch up on everything I've missed in the past three days.

I've been playing through Noveria, so my MaleShep got to meet Lorik, Li, and that turian guard who likes donuts. I'm glad Noveria has so many turians, because Garrus isn't in my squad this time around (it's Tali and Liara - Garrus was there at the beginning, but he told MaleShep to bring Liara).

Alright, question time - for the girls, what first attracted you to Garrus? Did you find him interesting in that way in ME1, or was it something that set in in ME2? What's your favorite part of Garrus' personality? Favorite part of his romance?

For the guys (unless you're flammie, haha), why do you see Garrus as a "bro" or cool character?

Um... the voice? lol. The personality? The fact that he stormed onto the screen with a perfect headshot? I liked Garrus in ME1. He and Kaiden were my go team, and together we kicked much intergalactic ass. I kind of wished he had been an LI at the time, but Iiked the Kaiden romance, so it was fine.

I didn't know he was back for ME2. When doing the Archangel recruit, I had suspicions, but the helmet reveal resulted in a squee heard around the world.  I also didn't know he was romanceable, and was sad about the lack of Kaiden... until Horizen.  I was like "Oh hell, no!", but Garrus jumped in and defended. Later, reach/flexibility happened and the squeeing resumed.

I like the fact that Garrus is very passionate and driven, but still seems to be striving for validation of some kind. It's endearing. I love that he will stop at nothing to do the right thing, as far as he sees it.

Fave part of the romance has got to be the ending. Adoreable Garrus is adoreable, and that moment when he tries to tell Shepard how he feels beut she silences him and they headbump is just... it was perfect IMO. I smiled so much all the way through that romance.

We sole survivor Sheps with abandonment issues seem to be all about the tortured turians. lol

Regarding the DA:O romance thing someone mentioned. I have just completed the game, and I LOVED the level of LI interaction availalbe, but the gift approval thing made it go a bit crazy at times. I must have had 3 seperate "You aren't involved with such-and-such?" conversations with Alistair, without ever meaning to lead the others on.

Oh, drunken Janey in Garrus related social awkwardness. Discussion ME with a work-mate who said she played it because she thought the main guy was hot. I launched into a "OMG - Garrus is awesome!" spiel at her (went on about the voice a lot)... turned out she was talking about Sheploo, not a lizard like alien creature. Facepalm and blushing? Yes.   (thankfully, my dancing and stuff later made the embarrassment of that seem minor).

I got a Toshiba with a I-7 processor, 500 GB hard drive, 4 GB ram, and a Invidia Geforce graphics card with it for like about 1000 bucks. So i'm all set. Maybe i might get fallout new vegas or Guild Wars 2 and give it a test run.

I wrote a couple of random fanfics before that really just sputtered and died. Even after a couple of chapters, people were like, "Hi, no one cares."

You just have to keep trying different things and eventually, people will find their way over to your work. Or, join a readaround group. Those tend to help, especially when you're looking for peer reviews.

I don't know, maybe i just need to post them in fanfiction and see what happens, cause right now i just have them posted up in my blog. I just need to do a bunch of editing cause i pretty much made up those stories on the spot.

My Shepard who romanced Garrus is a Colonist War Hero, and a Sentinel. I think this forum would call her an "Assault Sentinel"... a Sentinel who thinks she's a Vanguard? She has light brown/dark blonde hair and the gold/hazel eye color, and a light tan (skin color number 4, probably). So she doesn't have much in common with most of the other Shepards who romanced Garrus, it seems. But that was expected - I don't think many other Shepards like Saren and think all turians are cute either. xD

The MaleShep I'm playing right now is an Earthborn Sole Survivor Vanguard though.

I'm only a few chapters in but I think the main reason your story rocks is that you focused on making an interesting Shepard.  Can't wait to finish this baby before I get back into drawing tonight.

All writers crave feedback, but mostly, it's tough to find. There's a lot of material out there for people to cover and only so many hours in the day.

At the end of the day, write for yourself, pimp it to your friends and that's probably where your expectations should lie. Anything above and beyond that is gravy. That's why writing stuff you like is the most important part of all of this - Because at the end of the day, the only reader you can fully count on to have time to read what you write is, well, you.

Had a fun start to the morning at work. We were at the nurses' station at the start of the day and we were discussing how a knee replacement patient doesn't like getting up out of bed (not that I blame her). Staff member says: "She waits until the lllaaaast possible minute unless there's PT" and I swear all I could think was Garrus talking about waiting to pop the last heat sink. /facepalm



Yeah. That was a very awkward moment.
