Small OT question for the ladies and gents of this thread. Thats my Main Shep, what do you think looking good or needs some work?

Something seems off about the chin/neck to me. Could use more definition between the two. Other than that it looks fine.

And regarding Bowser-Hock.....It's the eyebrows.

It needs more cowbell.

I wonder how much of humanity garrus has studied over the years. I'm pretty sure once he gets close to shepard again he would be able to pick up alot more things that he missed.

I recall the final scene of the romance has Garrus berating himself for not watching Mordin's videos, and was about to extrapolate "not much" but then realized he could probably know plenty about regular culture and just not much about human sexuality.

Meh.

Okay, two quick questions here:

1. Does Garrus swear (ie ever drop the f-bomb)? I just did the LM again with Sidonis dropping it and then thought does G actually swear apart from mild cussin' like damn, etc?

2. Does Garrus actually ever lose his temper with Shep? I mean, even after the LM (in my case, not killing Sidonis), he was annoyed but not a full-out, angry meltdown (which he had every right to do IMHO). At the end of the LM he strides up to Shep like he is going to let her have it and then just, well, doesn't.

Nope he doesn't. And yeah there are certain points where it looks like he is about to go up to shepard and shake him/her, but he doesn't. He had a crapload of respect and self-control when hes around shepard.

only time I had him really lost patience with my Shep was when I tried to talk him out of Killing Sodonus(SP?)M yGarrus was full renegade from ME 1. (completion level 6)

As for dropping the F-Bomb I don't think so. he uses hell and damn and stuff liek that alot.

Thanks guys. I thought as much - I guess, for me anyway, it is part of what makes him so endearing as a character. He seems like he is genuinely a nice guy - still got edges to keep him interesting, but at heart he is a good person (er, turian? bloke? meh...whatevs)

Alright, question time - for the girls, what first
attracted you to
Garrus? Did you find him interesting in that way in ME1, or was it
something that set in in ME2? What's your favorite part of Garrus'
personality? Favorite part of his romance?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In ME1, I did not find him attractive or unattractive; I wanted to talk to him after every mission, even when I realized that he was simply going to thank me (until the end). I did not feel this way about other squad
members, so there was something about him. My (Earthborn Sole Survivor) Shepard and I felt about him as I felt about Bao Dur in KOTOR II- the part where Bao Dur says that he realized something important and will tell you about it later- and never does. I think that kind of intrigue with someone is a good prelude to romance
later, but it wasn't conscious with Garrus, although it definitely was with Bao Dur.

The intriguing quality of interactions drew me to him from the first as well as his asking for help with things so
personal and close to his heart. This is also a favourite part of his personality for me, that he is not afraid to ask for help and wrestles with his choices and will show when he disagrees. He will take Shepard's
advice but has his own take on things.

Romance: When he says 'definitely' with that look in his eye, swoon. And, the end part is
touching and wonderful. His awkwardness and sincerity is what makes that special for me.

The voice, enough said.

@Xsause:

The last picture from your post with the Sidonis pics makes me smile and feel all giddy. That is lovely. Where did you take that picture?

*A Garrus moment from work:

A co-worker told me that her makeup secret is to think of someone she likes for the perfect appearance of
wearing blush. Thinking of Garrus accomplishes that for me, which I did not go into specifics about with her. [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie]

Oops, sorry Andaius, sometimes you spoil me with all your great screenshots and I get too lazy to click a linky. :P
I wouldn't change anything; he looks good to me.  I do wonder what his hair looks like under that hat, but the hat is great.

ZOMG Andaius that's a great facial expression there, with the narrowed eyes Posted Image
And too bad you can't give him tattoos or he'd look just like your ava. Posted Image

Holy cow Blaze, your Shepard looks like Donovan Hock's cousin.

I really enjoyed pissing that guy off, i'm sure garrus would to. In fact i'm kind of glad garrus couldn't come to hock's party or else his self-control would of slipped and he'd be stepping on someone's neck.

You shot his vase, didn't you? ;)
Hahaha, me too.
And I definitely wonder what comments Garrus would have had about the turian sculpture.

Well both faces are about the close as I can get to looking like the actually me. So only middling in resemblance. (I'm kinda bad with the face gen!) Miri took me like 50 minutes of tinkering before I gave up and kept what I had.

That's interesting Aricle. The Character Discussion Group in my signature just started talking about KOTOR II and Bao-Dur.

--

I did really like how you could sort of mentor Garrus in ME1. It was very easy to tell that Garrus greatly respected Shepard. That's pretty awesome. At the same time, Garrus is his own person. He is simply listening to what Shepard has to say.

Since I seem to be asking a lot questions tonight :P

Why do the guys like Garrus? Why him over the other potential squaddies...Grunt, Thane, Jacob? I mean, I see the appeal from a females perspective  but just wondered about the bromance and why Garrus?

Sorry if we've covered it!

I'm glad you mentioned your group; I've been thinking about the KOTOR games a lot lately and wanting to play. The comments in your KOTOR thread are interesting; it has been so long since I played, there is much I do not recall. The circumstances of playing were different as I was learning the die rolls aspect at the time and had to get a lot of help to figure out what was going on with the battle system.
--
Yes, Garrus is his own person, which I appreciate; the evolution of that has been handled well thus far. I really had to think about what to say and do during his missions in both ME1 and ME2, even during subsequent run-throughs. I have played this game more times than most, with the possible exception of Silent Hill (due to the different possible endings).  I like wanting to play for more than the completionist aspect.

Sorry if we've covered it!

1. In ME1, Garrus is introduced to the player as someone who also wants to take down Saren.
He seems to be someone frustrated with the politics of the Citadel. From the start Garrus wants to help Shepard. He wishes Shepard luck.
2. After being shut down by the Citadel/politics, having someone who doesn't like red tape - like Garrus, is pretty awesome.
3. When we see Garrus again, he's defending Dr. Michel and is shown to be a badass. Then - if you're doing science experiments - he joins your squad and now I've got this cool raptor looking dude on my team.
4. On the Normandy, Garrus has some interesting tales to tell about his own life as well as his history with C-Sec. Notice that another popular "bro" character - Wrex, does the same thing.
5. In addition, you are able to steer Garrus into paragon or renegade outlooks. In this way you get the sense that Garrus is really listening to Shepard.
6. After you help him with his personal mission, he thanks Shepard for giving him another perspective, or reinforcing the one he already had. From this conversation and his other ones it's very easy to see that Garrus really respects Shepard.
7. Garrus is all about taking down criminals - this is a noble goal and is something similar to popular heroes like Batman or the Punisher. Garrus wants to wipe crime off the face of the galaxy, and is not afraid to rough people up to do it. Awesome.
8. In ME2 Garrus became more "badass." I mean, he took a rocket to the face and survived. In his loyalty mission he throws Harkin around like a ragdoll. Awesome.
9. Several "bro" moments in ME2. There's the conversation about his scars (gist: "Hell, you were always ugly Garrus." "Heh, I was always getting hit on - at least now you have a chance, Shepard"), the reach and flexibility conversation, and all of the "just like old times" comments and conversations.
10. Garrus is snarky (more so in ME2) and is funny. That earns points.

You could. Do it from a bromance POV. :D (Garrus is an awesome bro)

And that Garrus was cool. I can totally see drunk Garrus dancing lik that.

Evening all, well depending were you are in the world of course, then good morning or good afternoon.

Saw your question earlier today Collider, but damn work keeps getting in the way of me joining in on this thread.

To tell you the truth I had no immediate attractions to anyone in ME1 - I just finished playing Oblivion and was so obsessed with elves, mages, assasins and thieves I was like meh space.  So no romance and no inclinations at all.  I did have Garrus and Kaidan as fave squad mates though.  But I didnt even know about all the sex controversy with the first one (thanks Rupert) until I was well into playing ME2 and I was like - Jacob why is he coming on to me all sleazy like, can I sleep with the characters here? several internet searches later ......DUH.

Anyhow I loved Garrus's voice right from ME1.  I like his smart arse comments and he's a bit awkward, not polished and doesnt have any pretensions.

Favourite part of the romance - his shocked reaction to you coming on to him, makes me smirk every time.

On a side note I was in the car and driving home today thinking - where does Garrus sleep (aside from Sheps bed of course)? This topic has probably be discussed before but I was thinking several of the characters don't appear to have a crib or even a few seats to lay across so where do they sleep?  Does Garrus bunk down with the crew?
