Edit: Jacob favouritism yet again...He gets 4 death lines. Jack and Thane get 3 (still going down the list)...But both of their romanced lines are
Although Thane's voice sounds different through headphones. Less like he's been gargling cement and more like he was speaking through a synth. I guess it's somewhat similar to a turian's actually...
What the heck is it with the Jacob favouritism???! GAAAAH. Every time I find out he gets extra dialouge and scenes I always think "That could COULD have been an extra line for garrus....b*stard"

not to say I don't like humans... as friends.
Secondly, I personally can't stand how making Garrus a LI as fan service. It's not exactly FS when our once chatty turian has at most 7 lines of conversation.

-I like the mix of actual dialogue and Garrus' internal thoughts along with Shepard's additional comments. Your descriptions of the fights/missions got the basic idea across without getting bogged down.
-You included some of Garrus' feelings for her after her death and subsequent resurrection and it was just right. Some stories get heavy-handed with that theme, which comes off as downplaying their camaraderie as teammates to me.
-The chapter on Horizon where you say 'he could care less about a damn game'- beautiful in the context of that moment and the fact that Mass Effect's universe is much more than a game.
Thank you for the story, it made me smile and cry in a good way. (And the ME1 theme song came up in shuffle as I wrote this post. ('I need you to recover 'cause I can't make it on my own').
Edit: weird that you posted while I was writing this.

@ Nevara: I just finished Chapter 8 of 'Past the Point of no Return'. I don't know what to say and that is meant in a good way but I will try.

Thanks. I'm suprised so many people liked it. I just got a second one out this morning. It was bogging down my chapter 9 thoughts. It's a little darker, and edgier but so far, I've gotten some good results from it.
during the flashback to after Saren in chapter 2 I was listening to that song. It seemed fitting at the time.

i still think its funny though, and maybe its just me, but if someone can answer please do... if I've had a hundred views of one story, and one review, what does that mean? Not to be cynical (at least try not to be) but isn't it counterintuitive to the writing process to say nothing. Even if they like it say something. It motivates people (such as myself) to get props.... meh nm...
Don't feel too bad. (I think I gave you a review, if not, shame on me and I'll do it shortly.) People are shy. I actually find it more heartening to see how many favorited the story, put me on their author alert list, or marked me as a favorite author. The reviews aren't generally helpful since no one ever says anything truly constructive in them. But if they like you enough to keep coming back... that's the real test.
Oh! And Garrus.

I've hesitated to post the five stories I've written for concern over something similar happening. I know it happens because of comments writers make on fanfic about being favourited without any reviews made in proportion to the number of favourites made.

I think you did comment to the first one I wrote. It's also been c2'd, what drives me to mental exhaustion how many hits that you get. I mean are some of these people actually reading what I've got more than once?
Correction: you did review it. and I like the word deviant because deviance is bliss!

I'm all caught up, too. I'm enjoying it too and I'm curious to see where it'll go. I like how you interjected Garrus's indignation on Horizon--how I'd like to see Garrus get good and upset at Kaidan on Horizon in-game!--and you've been good at keeping everyone in-character, which is generally very important to me with fan fiction. On to your next story!
eta: and as for the number of views, I know that sometimes I have to read stories in chunks, as I get time. It's not uncommon for me to have to sign on to a story a handful of times before I can even finish it, even if it's relatively short, because I have 2 kids and real life does get in the way, such that I can only do things in little chunks sometimes.
And also, some of my favorite stories, I've read over 10+ times. So it does happen.

Phoenix II, yes. It is so pink! I like the way he looks in the helmet and the pink colour; he still is a bad*ss in pink.
