Garrus is a strong leader and is very good sniper. However he can be rash at times and can let his emotions get the better of him, but he is a good man in his heart. Shepard deserves to have a man like him.

I was just playing Mass Effect, and... just a word of advice foranyone who's trying to avoid Liara's romance - don't choose the "Let's talk" option. Ever. >_>; After you get the "I'm not interested" conversation, just quit while you're ahead. My MaleShep just went to talk to her after her mother's death, and it was a really bad idea to talk with her more, apparently. I just knew I'd have to reload when he said, "I enjoy talking with you, Liara, no matter the subject." She starts talking about all of the asari rumors again (which I already heard from the Investigate option for asari culture), and then she and Shepard start talking like they're a couple, are they ready or should they wait, and there was no "we're not in a romance" option. This is how the "rumors" get started, Liara. He just wanted to see if you were alright after your mother's death! I guess you're alright then...

@Zalmida: Both pictures of Garrus and Shepard are awesome. And Shepard is adorable in the second picture. That's pretty much how I imagine my MainShep's happy face.

Wait, why would you think Garrus would mess up Chellick's investigation? He didn't seem all that condemning when Shepard went to confront Chellick about it. In fact, he seemed to think this was Chellick's usual style.

I didn't mean he would mess up Chellick's investigation just because he felt like it. I just think Garrus would be more likely to try to arrest the mercs (or maybe even kill them) instead of following Chellick's plan.

The best why to avoid the Liara romance is to pick her up last, plus you get funny dialog.

I've seen videos of Liara's funny dialogue. By "last", does that mean she has to be recruited after Virmire? That would seem a bit strange for the storyline.

"Hold on, Saren. I've got one more squadmate to pick up before we chase you down at Ilos. In Revelation, you said you're a patient man, so... thanks for waiting! I really wanted to avoid this romance."

Who knows? Maybe Saren understands... Benezia could be just like Liara.

If you do every other main mission planet (Noveria, Feros, Virmire) before Liara's, when you meet her she's delusional and thinks Shepard is a hallucination. It's pretty funny.

Yep, you have to do her recruitment last of all the main missions.

I find it a bit creepy that Mordin knows everything about all Shepards flirts. Perhaps the gossip junkies Joker, Kasumi and Kelly actualy works for him...

There's also the "salarians only sleep 2 hours every 24" thing - he can catch shift change gossip, mess hall chatter, third watch banter between the four crewmen on duty, any conversation really. Probably subverted some of the bugs as well - he is former STG, I'm sure he's watching his back.
It's his complete and utter lack of shame regarding the subject - appropriate for a salarian scientist (or is that scientist salarian? ) - that gets me about them. It's a conversation I imagine them having not quite far enough from other crewmen for Garrus' liking, somewhere about halfway up the walkway to the Main Battery. Mordin rattling on, Gardner trying not to make it obvious he's listening, Garrus fidgeting uncomfortably with the ration pack that was the sole reason
he came out at all, Kasumi cloaked and stealing oranges from the mess "just to keep busy"...

Well, technically, you won't know Saren is going to Ilos until you pick up Liara so she can tell you.

I always thought it made sense to do Noveria last. I'm not sure where Saren got his information that the Conduit was on Ilos, but I had always assumed it was information he gained soon after using the beacon on Eden Prime. Plus he got the cipher before you. The only other piece of the puzzle he needs is the location of the Mu Relay, so once Benezia gives it to him, what is he doing? His next stop should have been Ilos.
