Hmm, the deadly Widow-wielding geth infiltrator, with top shield capacity(a thousand if fully-upgraded), Al hacking and drones as useful as Tali's, isn't good enough to deserve a fan group and several appreciative threads?
Why is Legion so unpopular?

just because we legion fans communicate our appreciation in FTL binary instead of your organic "internetz forum" doesnt mean we dont exist...

Maybe it because you get him so late in the game?
I like him myself but I wish we could have gotten him a lot sooner. Unless you continue playing after you beat the game, you never really get a chance to use him for any quests.

You cannot show him what you humans call...love.
Seriously, from what I've seen romantically involved characters usually see a little boost to their popularity. Look at Tali. She really has not had that great of a shift in her character but open things up to some strange interspecies intercourse and all of a sudden you have die-hard fanboys suddenly finding issue with the fact that you weren't allowed even to see her face. Even Shiala has seen some mention around here and I'm willing to bet that it had something to do with the awkward "invitation" she left you with in ME2.
Legion, sure he comes in late but you can still spend some quality time with him especially if you didn't finish the game before the Reaper IFF. However, because there are no hormones involved, he isn't going to look or be as attractive, to the masses, as any other organic.

You get him late in the game and he breaks immersion if you go into pretty much ANY conversation outside of your squad.
I love him don't get me wrong. It's just sad you are forced into the final mission kinda after you get him.

Legion's cool, but he comes into the game way too late to be useful. :|

I love legion. I can understand why you only get him / her / it so late in the game, but I think his / her / it's backstory and potential for expansion in ME3 is the best of any character to date.

Imo he's the most interesting squad member in ME2. It's just a damn shame he can't be recruited earlier.

Yeah, Legion is very popular. He really should have been found on the Collector ship though... The Reaper IFF means the game is essentially over, and all you have left is his loyalty quest and the last mission.
As for Tali's surge of popularity, she was always popular. There was a huge clamor for her addition as a romantic interest, so you can't say nobody liked her before.

My only problem with Legion was how late we get him. It almost makes it pointless to have him there at all, since, unless you don't mind losing a few crew members, most of your quests are completed by then. He and other latecomers even have dialogue in quests before they are available . . .

This. I still want to take him with me on Tali's loyalty quest. Haven't done that yet...Beastfoot wrote...

Its annoying as hell that you get Legion so late. True you can get him before having to recruit everyone and doing loyalty missions, but that guarantees someone will die, either the Normandy Crew or your own team.
He is a very damned good squad member. Basicly he is Tali+Sniper Rifle and 10% damage boost on special ability - Energy Drain ( which is useless anyway against the collectors ) He is by far the best squad member to have on insanity, second in that line is Tali. Garrus plainly sucks on insanity, no where near comparable to Thane for example.

Tali was introduced rather early in ME1, so she's had a huge head start in developing a fanbase, so it's rather unfair to compare the two
