Don't know much about these things but someone brought it up when I asked about whats the best site to use to convert youtube videos into mp3 on another board. I used zamzar and it came out to be 128 kbps
How many kbps is considered good for a song?

128 is fine for most. Ideally you would use 'variable'. I think OGG does variable. Don't worry about it though - quality on youtube isn't that great anyways.

Pfewwww; depends on so many factors...
Where are you playing the music? Because the standard Creative Labs speakers will sound decent at almost any bitrate but if you take the same song played through Infinity´s, you´ll see the difference...

You shouldn't notice much at 128kbs, you-tube as a source won't give you great quality in the first place so if you're just ripping from their quality shouldn't be to much of an issue anyway. Anything else if you're looking for quality I would suggest the highest sustained bit rate you can get compared to file size. Variable is good as a 'best-of-both worlds' alternative.

Get some decent earphones first. Jlabs or Senheiser should be fine.

128kbs or better, if you really want perfection use Senhieser heaphones and FLAC! (Just make sure that you've got loads of memory!)

The do; especially if you like music rich in low frequencies.
You can get them pretty easily on amazon, but any shop that sells hi-fi stuff should have a decent selection.
