There are many people who wish to se Tali in Mass Effect 3 but what is it about her that makes people actually think she is exciting enough. I have never even remotely thought that Tali was any good as a character and the fact that I saw her in Mass Effect 2 surprised me a lot. Surely the other members of the squad in Mass Effect 1 and 2 are far more preferred then Tali? I am guessing that many are just supporting Tali just for the hell of it but can any one tell me whats so special about her that makes her stand out from the rest of the squad?

why does there have to be 8 threads on this same topic. How about you just go in their 8 billion page tali threads and see, I doubt anyone will say anything different than whats present in there. This is just going to turn into a 20 page thread of Tali fans not agreeing with you.

Just because you don't like her does not mean others do not.

There are a variety of reasons perhaps too many list by any single person.  If you don't like her that is fine but to ask the question of why others do seems odd.  But to try and answer I like her character, story, and overall portrayal in both games.

I think she is a fun character who has grown with the series.

I like her character but I think the cult following of her is ridiculous.

Do not try to understand the nature of the beast. Simply accept it, and move on.

Her personality is very loveable, nothing more. Plus the other romance options are not very good.

And this is atleast 5th time this thread has been made in this week, I think.

It's the unknown. What lies beneath the mask. There's also this strength, but vulnerability a lot of people feel they need to nurture and cherish. Like she needs to be protected by the..

OH GOD, now the Talimancers will crawl out of the basements and they're going to FLAME you to death. With pitchforks. On fire. And covered in bees.

Ummm....if you really wanted to know you'd peruse the 8,000 other threads on this topic.

However, since you're just flamebaiting to start with, you can skip it.

Dem hips?

On a more serious note, it's probably a combination of her "white and nerdy" personality, her voice actress and the fact that she was a forbidden fruit in the first game.

I find her initial naevity and later character growth charming. Being a main cast member in both games she has had time for an involved and emotional backstory along with a history with Shepard. She also has the hilariously awkward fixation on Shepard in ME2, which I was more than happy to encourage. Girls with accents, man, they kill me.

  • Ashley is, and always has been a bit of a hardnosed cow.
  • Liara was cute in ME1 and is a hardnosed cow in ME2.
  • Miranda is a hardnosed genetically engineered cow with daddy issues for half the game.
  • Jack is a hardnosed psychopathic tattooed cow.
  • Samara won't put out. Cow.
  • Kelly is a consolation prize.
Miranda isn't too bad once you break through her shell, but Tali is the only female in the ME universe that is even really likeable. Plus, great accent and voice acting.

If she didn't have the mask and people knew how she looked like, she wouldn't be special.

Nope.

Miranda and Garrus are much below, and the "none of the above" option isn't even close.

http://technology-sc...threadId=791698

Also, as orginally posted by Nozybidaj who did the legwork on the numbers...

Taking a look at Bioware’s very own social site we can see how much the
fans love to discuss and endorse their favorite characters.  There are
8 Tali specific groups containing 2,623 members, Garrus has 5 groups
containing 1,006 members.  Even bit characters seem to be loved and get
their own attention.  Characters like Kal’Reegar have group memberships
reaching over 225 members.  Even the comical Conrad Verner has his own
group., Ambassador Udina has 2.

The forums section is host to
its own kind of fan love.  No one who has ever gone to the Bioware
forums could have missed threads like “Keep Tali Alive 2.0” which has
grown to well over 1,000 pages and over 26,000 posts at the time I
write this and continues to grow by the minute.  Bioware has created
such lovable characters in Mass Effect 2 that the fans of the game are
simply gushing with love and affection for their favorite characters.
