Miranda isn't too bad once you break through her shell, but Tali is the only female in the ME universe that is even really likeable. Plus, great accent and voice acting.
- Ashley is, and always has been a bit of a hardnosed cow.
- Liara was cute in ME1 and is a hardnosed cow in ME2.
- Miranda is a hardnosed genetically engineered cow with daddy issues for half the game.
- Jack is a hardnosed psychopathic tattooed cow.
- Samara won't put out. Cow.
- Kelly is a consolation prize.
You make it sound as though she's just the lesser of many evils. You really hate all the potential LIs that much?

The Tali love thread keeps itself confined to a single one..except when forced by the moderators to start a new one.
The Tali haters start far more Tali threads. Ironic really.

She's so popular because a huge majority of tali fans just outright ignore the other squadmates, and only actually talk to Tali, therefore they think Tali is the best, while all the other characters are lame compared to Tali.

I really don't get why this keeps popping up.
Tali love threads get posted way more than Tali hate threads.
I
mean, there has been a spike in tali hate threads in the past few days,
but still not even close to half of the number of tali love threads
that get posted everyday.

Solely as a character doesn't stand out on top. I find Thane, Garrus, and Legion far more interesting.
Tali is the introverted techy nerd that some can connect to, plus the whole 'mystery' of what she looks like appeals to some.

Go ahead and look. The other character threads are in version 2. Tali is in version 3.
There are two Liara threads, multiple threads dedicated to the ME1 LI's getting tossed.
Go look for yourself. There is the one Tali love thread. And there are about 2 or 3 "anti-tali love" threads.

Do you really have to start a thread like this just because you don't like one of the characters? Can you not fathom the idea that people have different opinions than you? I mean hell, I think Grunt is a boring character, but you don't see me making threads complaining about why anyone would like him do you?

Tali just hits me in that special place, the dark place.

well maybe these days. It wasn't long ago that there were dozens a day showing up. True though people should limit the amount of threads started with the same topics all the time.

There are many people who wish to se Tali in Mass Effect 3 but what is it about her that makes people actually think she is exciting enough. I have never even remotely thought that Tali was any good as a character and the fact that I saw her in Mass Effect 2 surprised me a lot. Surely the other members of the squad in Mass Effect 1 and 2 are far more preferred then Tali? I am guessing that many are just supporting Tali just for the hell of it but can any one tell me whats so special about her that makes her stand out from the rest of the squad?
Nope.
Miranda and Garrus are much below, and the "none of the above" option isn't even close.
http://technology-sc...threadId=791698
Also, as orginally posted by Nozybidaj who did the legwork on the numbers...
Taking a look at Bioware’s very own social site we can see how much the
fans love to discuss and endorse their favorite characters. There are
8 Tali specific groups containing 2,623 members, Garrus has 5 groups
containing 1,006 members. Even bit characters seem to be loved and get
their own attention. Characters like Kal’Reegar have group memberships
reaching over 225 members. Even the comical Conrad Verner has his own
group., Ambassador Udina has 2.
The forums section is host to
its own kind of fan love. No one who has ever gone to the Bioware
forums could have missed threads like “Keep Tali Alive 2.0” which has
grown to well over 1,000 pages and over 26,000 posts at the time I
write this and continues to grow by the minute. Bioware has created
such lovable characters in Mass Effect 2 that the fans of the game are
simply gushing with love and affection for their favorite characters.
The main reason the Tali and Garrus groups are so strong is that after having been recognized by the Devs as being an influence into why the characters play a more important role in the story. These people now feel empowered that if they act overly obessive to the point that makes it sad that they can continue to get these characters in the next game. Kudos to Bioware for creating good characters but some of those people are just insane. But now everyone feels like they have to give their stamp of approval on certain characters because if they dont Bioware might forget about them.

Cutlass Jack, from what I saw.. seems pretty cool.
If they really wanted to know why we like her, they could just ask in her fan thread. Sure they will be swamped. But if you want answers you must brave them waters.
