There are many people who wish to se Tali in Mass Effect 3 but what is it about her that makes people actually think she is exciting enough. I have never even remotely thought that Tali was any good as a character and the fact that I saw her in Mass Effect 2 surprised me a lot. Surely the other members of the squad in Mass Effect 1 and 2 are far more preferred then Tali? I am guessing that many are just supporting Tali just for the hell of it but can any one tell me whats so special about her that makes her stand out from the rest of the squad?

Taking a look at Bioware’s very own social site we can see how much the
fans love to discuss and endorse their favorite characters.  There are
8 Tali specific groups containing 2,623 members, Garrus has 5 groups
containing 1,006 members.  Even bit characters seem to be loved and get
their own attention.  Characters like Kal’Reegar have group memberships
reaching over 225 members.  Even the comical Conrad Verner has his own
group., Ambassador Udina has 2.

The forums section is host to
its own kind of fan love.  No one who has ever gone to the Bioware
forums could have missed threads like “Keep Tali Alive 2.0” which has
grown to well over 1,000 pages and over 26,000 posts at the time I
write this and continues to grow by the minute.  Bioware has created
such lovable characters in Mass Effect 2 that the fans of the game are
simply gushing with love and affection for their favorite characters.

The main reason the Tali and Garrus groups are so strong is that after having been recognized by the Devs as being an influence into why the characters play a more important role in the story.  These people now feel empowered that if they act overly obessive to the point that makes it sad that they can continue to get these characters in the next game.  Kudos to Bioware for creating good characters but some of those people are just insane. But now everyone feels like they have to give their stamp of approval on certain characters because if they dont Bioware might forget about them. 

Those are the consequences for doing what they did to the ME1 LI's.

Haters keep on hatin', if that makes you feel good.

I'm basing it off of my own experiences. I think I'd know if I was making stuff up.

And don't get me wrong, I don't think all tali fans do that, but I do think a good chunk of them did ignore the rest of the cast

Well most of the fans were around even before ME2...hence why I don't think simply ignoring the ME2 cast is valid. I didn't.

I did all of the male romances, and the Garrus one for femshep. Thus far, Jack was second best, but didnt top Tali because i pretty much knew how it was gonna go .

Miranda has easily been the most shallow romance i've played in both games. It's just not my thing.

I've seen far too many pictures of Alenko in the Alenko thread pretty much naked after the romance scene from ME1.

They do love their Kaidan. But maker bless em for it. I admire their devotion.

For me its a bit funny. In ME1 I wanted to romance Tali because I liked her persona, background. I found her intresting. But since it wasnt possible I went for Liara. In ME2 I wanted to continue my romance with Liara but couldnt. Then I discovered Tali and after doing the missions with her realised why i liked her as char back in ME1 and went for her.



But then again, her competition isnt that hard. In ME2:

Miranda is part of Cerberus, wich isnt that trustfull as a orginasation.

Jack is crazy.(Its bad what happend to her, but I cant comfort everyone)

Samara turns you down.(Maybe she changes her mind in ME3)

Tali is a shy girl with a good heart.



My good guy went for Tali.

My bad guy and Cerberus supporter went for Miranda

My neutral/impulsive char went for Samara and then Garrus.
