No. But since your tactlessness has already made you enemies I might as well enjoy it. Image IPB
So go fight the good fight, Zenn.

The most nonsensical thing about Mass Effect 2 has to be any complaint that doesn't involve planet scanning.

Was that the word of the day?

Who needs tact. The results are the same either way so why bother with format?
Really though the story brought the characters together in LoTR. The characters attempt to bring the story together in ME2, and that is why it doesn't work. The story owns the characters, not the other way around.

Who needs tact?

Why, people who want to criticize do.

You’re right about most of the things you say, but because of the way you say them your good points can come off as flaming.

Bashing, going on about how writers are stupid, insults and criticisms and all this… these are the things that make a troll out of a truth-sayer.

It was the most interesting I have seen of this forum.  Non-emotional, non-contraversial posts are just a boring waste of time.

It's true I was getting bored.  All these people trying to be overly nice and considerate to one another....  Every other post starting with "I appritiate your responce" or "I have to strongly disagree"  wtf is this?  What they really meant was "sorry pal yer full of smelly digested food"  (see what I did there if you didn't that's ok too...yer just slow).

It really doesn't serve much logical purpose to censor your opinions on a discussion board.  It's not a job interview and there is no "actual" reputation to defend or protect.  It's a virtual space for thoughts.  Let them be free.  Don't hinder them with some twisted notion of propriety or tact.  There is no point.  Everyone has a different definition of proper so no matter what you end up getting it wrong.

Unless you have specific purpose that relies on tact, its always preferable to just call it like you see it.

Man, ZennExile, you are one bitter son of gun.  Just because someone wants to be polite you have to run them down. People like you are the reason schools teach about internet courtesy.  Who are you to presume to tell other people that the way they conduct themselves on the internet is wrong?  And then you continue and insult every person who has the decency to be polite by mocking them.

You say you liked the game but you also say that Bioware has no writers and that they are all just interns.  Are you serious with this?  I'm having a hard time discerning between your bitterness and possible sarcasm.  Do you honestly think that the whole game was written by interns?  Not that it should even matter who wrote it as long as it was a good game, which you say it is by saying you liked it.  Honestly, you seem to be targeting anything and everything and that SCREAMS bitterness.

Also, isn't this like the second or third thread you've started on this subject? Were you just not getting the answers you wanted in the first ones so you thought you'd start another one?  Whatever the case I think you should calm down (and yes, you do need to calm down. You may not be upset at anything in particular, but deep down you seem upset) and just relax( and yes, I am intentionally being condescending).

was the stupid intentional too?   Image IPB

Yes I believe the game had to have been written by interns otherwise it would have been a deep and complex story like every other Bioware game in the past.

Yes polite people ****** me off because they are fake.  Fake people are as useful as stupid people.  few hundred square miles in the sahara, a high yeild nuke, and some mashmellows would fix a lot the world's problems.  Stupid people and fake people would be 1 and 2 on the invite list for this VIP party.

Your assumptions are only makin an ass out of u by the way cause me, I'mza smarter dan joo.

And who are you to judge what is courteous?  Or to judge anything I have to say?

eno oN :rewsnA

/fin

How are all polite people fake?  I'm polite (usually) and when I am It's because I honestly don't want to offend anybody or because I don't want them to get the wrong idea about what I'm saying.  And what if, as you say, the story was written by interns?  They could be really good writers and the intent is to leave you with questions more than answers.  What if Bioware is taking the Trilogy-spanning story arc idea further than any other company in the history of man?  They could be withholding large amounts of information intentionally in order to build anticipation for the third game.  The whole point of what they did with the story in my opinion was to avoid falling into the "2nd act in a trilogy" hole.  Instead of trying to come up with a story that lived up to the first and eventually the third games they made the game about something else entirely.  They made it about your characters, which for me is the reason I play RPGs.  It's the reason I didn't like Fallout 3 and the reason I did like Mass Effect 1.  These characters defined the game.

And by the way, your response validates my opinion that you're bitter.  You apparently hate fake people (which I agree with entirely) but because of the irrationality of that hate you see every polite person as fake.  Now, if they were like "And how are we doing today" then that could probably be taken as being fake but if they said thank you or goodbye even, then you are just overreacting.  I would apologize for my brief trolling but you would just call me fake.  Honestly, if you read over the things you've said on this thread and thought about it neutrally, you would come to the same conclusion I came too, it's glaringly obvious.

Exactly.  It's fake.  it's a pony show, a song and dance, an outwardly reflected persona.

Being polite just begs the question, "What must this person think of me to believe that they might accidentally offend me?"  Do you think I'm so stupid that anything you say or do might inadvertantly attack my fragile sense of reality and spin me into a retard rage the likes of which only TA's in the special ed class are allowed to talk about?

Projecting a persona is fake.  Regardless of intentions.  Being polite is never really about fear of offense.  It's always about motivation.  Unless you are polite in all given situations regardless of emotional context then... well ye just creepy.

Either way spare me your protection of my feelings.  I'm not as easily offended as you seem to fear I am.  Why again would you assume I lack the mental fortitude required to accept the perspective of another human being?  Have I come off as being stupid?  Oh dear oh dear....   Am I stupid?  Image IPB

It'll probably take years and you won't remember this conversation but I have a feeling that someday you will realize what I am trying to teach you.  Someday...

I personally am polite because a common sense of civility requires that I show a basic level of respect to all people regardless of how I feel about them personally.  It's not respect for you, it's respect for the institutions of our society.

But you want me to impolite?  Fine.  *Big Breath*  You're a moron.  A particularly abrasive git whom manages to find several points of actual fault with the game but ultimately negates his own arguments by being a tremendous blockhead.

Your borderline racist or simply nonsensical complaints are compounded by your laughable belief that being a jerk is somehow equal to being honest about a subject is just irritating.

(For the record, I agreed with 8 of the 17 things you complained about.  I agreed with your reasoning for the complaint on only 6 of them.)

Your tone doesn't speak acceptance, it speaks anger.  The means through which you convey your meaning is aggressive and forceful.  Your wording tells me that you have deep-seated mistrust for anyone being polite.  All of these things make me think that excessive politeness is required.  Which means the way in which you conduct yourself perpetuates the politeness.  No human being alive would look at the way you have spoken on this thread and believe that they could speak to you and not worry about offending you.  Whether or not you feel you can be offended is irrelevant, others will believe you can, thus the politeness.  If you hate politeness so much try not being so forceful and aggressive, you might like the results.

Cerberus spent billions of credits to bring back Sheperd and to make the latest Normandy, but that's not enough to make it survive vs the Collector's, so we need to get the really fancy upgrades from the people we recruit? Come on...

I agree, there was a lot of wasted production time (like the dancing) that could have been better spent addressing concerns like the truly shoddy squad AI, and having more of the side stories relevant to the main arc. I agree that most of the loyalty missions are sad, in that they don't relate to the main story at all, and so much more could have been done...

I have read both of Drew's novels, and the main story arc fits - but most of the side stuff is pretty much pointless - it's all about shooting stuff, though, I suppose, so let's dumb it down to make our combat mechanics stand out more (or was there some other reason?) Meeting Mordin on Omega fits (because of the 2nd book), Meeting Grunt fits, because of the genophage, and perhaps his loyalty mission makes the most sense, but ... bah, what's the point - it isn't like Bioware cares anymore...

My tone?  Can you hear me?  My text box is forcing you to responds with stuff?  Protection money?  My wording?  I believe I cleary stated being polite is being fake and explained why, so no.   My "words" say that.  Ok the next part needs space...

No Human alive would look at the what you have... spoken... on this .... thread.

Something suggests to me, about this wording, that these words herein, have the meaning of hearing you to sleep with the Iraq and such as....

As to your conclusion.  Were you forced to act right as a child?  Didn't you hate it?  Ever wonder why?  It sounds like you need your own advice to be perfectly honest with ya.
