You even typed out exactly why yer not worth responding to. " I directly responded to your original post " Instead of focusing on the topic you "attacked" my opinions by trying to first invalidate them and then replace them with your own.

And yet you still respond to me. Even if it is flippant, childish or an insult.

Irrespectively, when I 'attacked' (whatever that means in this context) your opinions I criticised your analysis of something that actually has nothing to do with even your self-proclaimed evaluation of this topic. Whether or not Bioware drew on ethnic stereotypes when they dealt with Jacob's loyalty mission has nothing to do with "Comprehensive Guide to things without sense in ME2". It is simply you analysing their motives in creating it and deciding that they were trying to reinforce ethnic stereotypes.

Had you instead just offered your own ideas then I'm sure several people would have responded to you and pet yer widdle head for being a good good boy. But you didn't So they didn't.

Huh? I've only really been addressing you.

Cause meet effect. Are we getting too deep for you yet I don't want to overwhelm you with all this rational dialogue that isn't born purely of your imagination and expelled like so much fieces onto the text box.

I have no idea what this even means. The reference to imagination however, it amusingly ironic in your case.

Sorry, he's not the only one critical of that aspect of the game.  I'm on my 3rd playthrough of this game and I love it.  That doesn't mean that I loved the loyalty quest for Jacob.  Whether you agree with the nature of his posts or not he is not alone in his criticism of this.  Doesn't take much imagination from me not to like it for the reasons I already posted.

Doesn't matter how many people notice it. You are still filling in the gaps with your own presumptions over Biowares motives and then condemning it for it.

No worries my OP is designed to bait lulz for people who actually care while they discuss these ideas.  It's not supposed to rub their belly and tell them "good boy".

And yeah Jacob's loyalty mission was just... I don't get how it go approved.  Damn near everyone I know woulda looked at that story board and went ..."You sure you wanna make the only black guy look for his long lost dad and find him pimpin a bunch of white slaves?  Yer sure?"

Just kinda odd it made it past even the first meeting.

Again, you're coming to your conclusion on their motives through your imagination. This is ironic. You're criticising an aspect of the game for something that you had to imagine might have been the case when it was being developed.

What conclusion?  Nothing in there should be suggesting a conclusion or asserting they had a motive when they storyboarded jacob's loyalty mission...

How the hell would I know their motive?  What I do know is the majority of the people in my life (and aside from my forum addiction suggesting otherwise they be quite a large and diverse group) would have and in fact "DID" notice it.  I'm not injecting imagination or suggesting a motive.  I'm simply saying, like the poster above you affirmed, someone probably shoulda noticed this at one of many different production meetings.  And it's also not even the focus of the topic.  The focus of the topic is why it makes no damn sense to go chasing down Jacob's daddy in the first place.

You not liking his posts doesn't mean that he hasn't raised some legitimate issues.  If you bothered to look you would have noticied that I posted similar issues on other threads before this one.  I already expressed my opinion about how he originally posted his concerns but that doesn't mean that I just blatantly ignore everything he said....nice photobucket photo by the way.

Secondly, Jacob asked you to chase him down.

Firstly, however I'm glad you bothered to actually respond. The simple response to this is that your own passive stereotyping (and your friends, companions, whatever) could be determining your evaluation of Jacob's loyalty mission. It is not Bioware that attempted to reinforce ethnic stereotypes, indeed we have no idea what their motive was for Jacob's loyalty mission and given the multicultural gaming climate it is extremely unlikely their motive would've been to reinforce racial prejudices.

Now given that, given that it is very unlikely Bioware had any motive like that - we can pin your reaction to it down to simply, your reaction projected onto the game.

Where am I doing that? I haven't made any comment about Bioware's motives. Please reference my post where I may have implied it.

It's already about 5 pages beyond expectations.  If I can figure out the damn formatting I'll have a nice update that will burn even more crap cannons than this first set did.

I've stated my opinion regarding this one issue more than once so I'm not going to repeat myself. Some of you get so wrapped up in your perception of the poster that you totally ignore the content of the post. I guess that's human nature. Maybe Zenn didn't help himself with how he originally posted. Again, that doesn't mean he hasn't made a few legitimate points. Sometimes its all about the presentation and not the content.

I don't believe anything positive can come from this continued dialogue so I'm out. Thanks for the conversation.

See what happens when I give stupid people credit?  They try and steal my account info and charge up a bunch of online porn with it....

Seriously though, this is why I didn't respond to you.  Your one and only desire in the whole world is to try and prove me wrong.  But yer too stupid to realise I make no direct assertions and my reactions (which weren't even mine in this specific case) aren't tangeble or being used as evidence for anything so yer attempt to prove them wrong is futile.

Hense responding to you is futile.

Honestly, Zenn.. you did raise some valid points. But couldn't you at least be RESPECTFUL about the "issue"? Flaming BioWare (including certain people) and the game as a whole was unnecessary. Be grateful that a company like this developed one of the few engaging and rewarding RPG's in the gaming industry. If you were very much dissatisfied then just don't bother playing the game. I'm sure you'll find other games which you claim to have "coherent story elements". Post number 15 was pushing it a little. You have absolutely no shame. Learn how to respect others.

A snide comment again?

It doesn't matter if they were yours or not. You agreed with them. No-one 'owns' an opinion.

Actually I came into the thread, noted your point and Jacob and responded to it. We've been going on this pathetic little merry-go-round ever since it wound you up. I have however noted your insecurity about people who consider your perspective incorrect.

I'm sorry, but this calls for another quote pyramid.

Also I didn't really put much thought into Jacob's mission anytime I did it, just never occurred to me.

Well, I'm happy for you.  Thanks for the enlightenment.  Since you're not the only one who played the game....your opinion and mine... equal diddly effin' squat.  But you don't have a right to tell me what my opinion should be just like I don't have the right to tell you.  I do have the right on these boards..however, to express that opinion  and I will do so when I damn well please.  Thanks for your assistance..have a nice day.
