Really though the story brought the characters together in LoTR. The characters attempt to bring the story together in ME2, and that is why it doesn't work. The story owns the characters, not the other way around.

Who needs tact?

Why, people who want to criticize do.

You’re right about most of the things you say, but because of the way you say them your good points can come off as flaming.

Bashing, going on about how writers are stupid, insults and criticisms and all this… these are the things that make a troll out of a truth-sayer.

It was the most interesting I have seen of this forum.  Non-emotional, non-contraversial posts are just a boring waste of time.

It's true I was getting bored.  All these people trying to be overly nice and considerate to one another....  Every other post starting with "I appritiate your responce" or "I have to strongly disagree"  wtf is this?  What they really meant was "sorry pal yer full of smelly digested food"  (see what I did there if you didn't that's ok too...yer just slow).

It really doesn't serve much logical purpose to censor your opinions on a discussion board.  It's not a job interview and there is no "actual" reputation to defend or protect.  It's a virtual space for thoughts.  Let them be free.  Don't hinder them with some twisted notion of propriety or tact.  There is no point.  Everyone has a different definition of proper so no matter what you end up getting it wrong.

Unless you have specific purpose that relies on tact, its always preferable to just call it like you see it.

You do know there isn't "a writer" for ME2 right?  Actually better question, do you want $100?

Yeah but there is nothing riding on my presentation or my tact. In fact (heh I crack me up) tact itself isn't generally effective in furthering a conversation. I don't much care how someone else thinks you should appear to me. What is important is the content. The meat. That lump of **** I might accidentally step in and be forced to clean off or deal with the smell from.
Tact generally limits the conversation to a struggle between presentations and that my friend couldn't be any less useless to me.

I'm curious about this preoccupation you seem to have with asses... do you color with the brown crayon?

So are you sticking with the retardation insult, because it's starting to lose it's charm after the first response. I mean, you did throw in the ass comment, but it was only mildly funny. Well only if assuming that  I'm a guy, and I would be gay if I were so preoccupied with asses so really it wasn't funny.

Just wondering if you are going to acknowlege that your argument for 12 is invalid, or maybe you would like to discuss it sometime. I'll be here listening to Ulrich Schnauss waiting.

I didn't ask if you needed it.

Do you want $100 yes or no.  Simple as that.  If you do then all you have to do is find where I said I didn't like the game and then quote it or link to it.  That's all.  If you don;t want $100 then you really have nothing to add to this thread and it's kinda pathetic that you continue posting.

Up to you.

I just want to mention that what you pick up isn't ammo, it's thermal clips.  That means that the overheating that happened in the first game was done away with by having heatsinks that were ejectable.  The heatsinks absorb the excess heat and then you get rid of them.  It was a technology advancement, not a recession.  Now, in the grand scheme of things they act just like ammo with a set number of shots before you need to eject the thermal clip but if you remember you could only fire you weapon so many times in the first one before it overheated, unless you had frictionless materials.  Granted, if you didn't have any thermal clips you couldn't fire no matter how many shots you technically had left.

And of course it is just an excuse to make it so that you can't totally decimate you enemies with constant fire for like 10 minutes or something. But the explanation is there in the codex, you just have to read it.

Well as you say yourself, the thermal clips act as ammo, because when you run out or thermal clips you cant fire your weapon anymore.. So its actualy just semantics, because the amount of ammunition available determines the amount of shots you can fire. So if instead of bullets, as we commonly know ammunition, the amount of shots is determined by thermal clips, and to me its unclear what the difference between the two is. And that being said, the overheating from ME1 was actually a more advanced technology imo, then these thermal clips which are just as stupid as the running out of fuel and having to go to the gasstation to be able to continue your very important mission.

I understand it's just semantics, but the OP said they didn't give an explanation and they did.  It doesn't matter that it's a weak example obviously bourne of a need for an explanation and not the other way around.

Actually the asses comment had nothing to do with gender or sexual orientation.  But very fruedian of you to go there....  The key was in the brown crayon part.  The brown crayon in question would be the one you make yourself.  hint hint...  And most retards don't use the brown crayon unless they are mad... or is that monkeys I forget....

i said it didn't make sense not that there was no explaination.  Stupid or not.

To go from having no ammo and having this huge amount of lore and backstory that supports not needing it, to this system where for all intents and purposes you have to collect ammo again simply does not make logical or rational sense.

Semantics and explaination just don't work to overcome the senseless act of turning 180 degrees on something so well ingrained in the ME universe.

See, this is what I mean.

I’m always up for a good fight. I love it. I’m not afraid of putting the boxing gloves on.

But when you go out of your way to be an ass unnecessarily suddenly you’re arguing with someone over stuff that doesn’t even matter. You’ve just ticked each other off and it’s not even about the discussion anymore.

“This is what I think…”

“I disagree with you.”

“You’re wrong for disagreeing with me.”

“No I’m not.”

“Yes, you are, and you’re a stupid dick.”

“I am not a stupid dick, I was just saying—”

“No, what you were saying is wrong because you’re a stupid dick.”

“No you’re a stupid dick.”

“No YOU’RE a stupid dick.”

“No, YOU, you’re a stupid dick—”

“See, the fact that you’re even saying that proves that you’re a stupid dick—”

“The fact that you’re even saying THAT proves that YOU’RE a stupid—”

But I won’t bash it, because it’s fun to watch and I support entertainment. You guys are like South Park. South Park is a must see.

Man, ZennExile, you are one bitter son of gun.  Just because someone wants to be polite you have to run them down. People like you are the reason schools teach about internet courtesy.  Who are you to presume to tell other people that the way they conduct themselves on the internet is wrong?  And then you continue and insult every person who has the decency to be polite by mocking them.

You say you liked the game but you also say that Bioware has no writers and that they are all just interns.  Are you serious with this?  I'm having a hard time discerning between your bitterness and possible sarcasm.  Do you honestly think that the whole game was written by interns?  Not that it should even matter who wrote it as long as it was a good game, which you say it is by saying you liked it.  Honestly, you seem to be targeting anything and everything and that SCREAMS bitterness.

Also, isn't this like the second or third thread you've started on this subject? Were you just not getting the answers you wanted in the first ones so you thought you'd start another one?  Whatever the case I think you should calm down (and yes, you do need to calm down. You may not be upset at anything in particular, but deep down you seem upset) and just relax( and yes, I am intentionally being condescending).

The brown crayon was still in reference to the fact that you think I'm a turd toting, helmet wearing school kid that likes asses, which implies that I'm a pillock using **** as paper decoration. It's still a retard joke, so try again.

I want your thoughts, that's why I posted in your thread. I want to understand why you think these things and discuss in this discussion board. I don't want to talk about retards and brown crayons when it has no relevence to ME. If I wanted that I would go hang out with Conrad Verner, or my five year old nephew.

You got your responses tonight, congratulations. Have fun turning the forums into a flame session.

Yes I believe the game had to have been written by interns otherwise it would have been a deep and complex story like every other Bioware game in the past.

Yes polite people ****** me off because they are fake.  Fake people are as useful as stupid people.  few hundred square miles in the sahara, a high yeild nuke, and some mashmellows would fix a lot the world's problems.  Stupid people and fake people would be 1 and 2 on the invite list for this VIP party.

Your assumptions are only makin an ass out of u by the way cause me, I'mza smarter dan joo.

Really though you never asked for input you only provided output.  And the only reaction output tends to get is reactionary and well...  Yer quote above this tells the story better than I can.

Read first then ask questions about context and meaning.  Otherwise it's like trying to explain evolution to a catholic priest.   (hidden meaning: if they don't wanna know something they will never know it)  <--- this is me using my crayons by the way.  I don't make my own but I can color a pretty neat map with them.  Image IPB

The most nonsensical thing about Mass Effect 2 has to be any complaint that doesn't involve planet scanning.
