Well, as Commander of the Grey in Amaranthine, you don't want just anyone joining, do you?

*Found a random bum on the street, and is about to force the vial down his throat*  Wait, what?

Just toss the vial in the village well. That village will be ready for the darkspawn within a week, either empty or resistant to the taint.

Hmm... so do the ones you choose automatically survive the ritual? Or some do and some don't? Or it's random everytime? I'm interested to see how they handle this.

I was wondering about that myself. Maybe a percentage chance of survival, with some being more likely to survive than others, but with enough possibility for other outcomes to keep you guessing?

I'm a huge fan of strategic gameplay when it comes to controlling troops and such, so I'm quite excited to hear more. Even as simple as the final battle at Denerim was, with pick-a-troop tactics...that made the endgame all the more interesting. If this does become a new facet of gameplay, I hope it is well received and will be expanded even more in the next release.

On top of this, the whole idea that your Warden is the commander, is a big deal. We went from bumbling about with Alistair to recruiting and rebuilding. The fanboi in me is far too excited!

Can someone please explain the NvM2 situation in more detail please? I want to know if this is worth me dancing in my house.

The story of NWN2 wasn't too different. You had to collect an army and ready the region to face the King of Shadows and his army.

Thanks. For various reasons I haven't gotten around to getting NWN2 yet, but damn that sounds epic. Me want. Speaking about Obsidian: Here be the compulsory "crying over KotOR2 getting rushed out the door" and "yay New Vegas, plz be gud", thank you.

I think it would be hilarious if
we meet Arl Howe's kids in Awakening or the sequel and then they turn
out to be wonderful people that are nothing at all like their father.
Then you suddenly start feeling bad because they're now penniless and
reviled throughout Ferelden because of him.

I'd be pretty disappointed if we couldn't meet them.

As for the Joinings: I'll surely [cat] out and reload most of my related deaths away, but it really sounds fantastic all around.

Yep, i think that puts him to the front of the line.  Honor to be a grey warden or not, I'm with Zev - the hero dies, and I recruit heroes damnit!  Who wants to die join first?

Do you want to join the unity, or do you want to die? Join. Die! Join. Die!
