LMAO what have I started

yeah I know right, these are arguments and discussions I'd rather avoid, because some cant fathom how someone can have or obtain faith in something, just because of superstitions, fear, and doubt, or how "MAN" being the weak yet divine people we are, can be corrupt and abuse things over the masses. But that doesnt make it false, that doesnt dismiss faith. Faith cannot be quantified like, light, or mass. But again just because you havent seen bigfoot or aliens doesnt mean it isnt real.

I hear ya, but in my personal experience which is just me may not be anyone else, but I've had friends that eventually chose to have nothing to do with me, because I have faith in something when they have had faith in nothing, I never pushed an agenda never said YOURE BAD YOURE GONNA BE CONDEMNED, I just said I understand how you feel, this is how I feel the end, it was as though they had an issue that I wouldnt give up my faith. Really blew me away.

Everyone is an idividual, therefore their lives are their lives, to live how they choose, it's when people push things on you that I have a problem with, it's like if a higher power revealed itself in plain sight and said here I am, and people with faith went NANA NANA BOO BOO I WAS RIGHT YOU WERE WRONG, it's stupid, if you dont believe that's your choice, but dont dismiss my faith because of you're train of thought.

ok.I appreciate all the answers.I don't care what somelikes, its their business, but I always found that kinda wierd. But then I kiss my GF's in public so I guess its not all that strange..I'm confused now, lol

Christianism made it look weird when it´s as natural, normal and nice as any other display of love and respect to a person.

that's not true. it's cultural. christianity is all over the world, but certain regions of the world, regardless of religion, are more open than others. it is neither right or wrong either way.

Not true? So how come that homosexuality and bisexuality; something that was commonly accepted and often times irrelevant in the Roman Republic and the Greek Polis was suddenly considered an aberration to nature and a direct attack to "human´s nature"?
Maybe becase people like the Fathers of the Church (and especially Saint Agustine) started considering it monstrous?
If you want more context, I´m refeering to the Western World. Asia and Africa are cases to be analyzed appart.

then why are there people of all religions who are both okay with and against gays? it is cultural. generalizations like this drive me nuts, and it has nothing to do with what i believe. the entire western world is not against gay people, just like the entire eastern world is not for it.

We are talking about different levels of analysis in both cases; while mine can be considered "structural", yours can is "individual".
Sure; as individuals, many do consider non-heterosexual orientation as normal and natural while the other is also true. But you´re bypassing the fact that ideology exists, it affects us and we are part of it no matter if we like it and agree with it, disagree entirely or anywhare in between.

What you belive is part of you; but it´s also related to those ideologies that are shared (or not) out there by other people and though ideologies are not living things on their own, they do have a "life" and are generaly clear. So, the fact that you are not a bigot does not deny the fact that Christianism and many other religions are clearly hostile to non-heterosexual (and even in that case, many practices possible in it) sexual behaviour.

I believe in God, and Christ, it is my faith, now, when I say that, I dont mean that that's it, most faiths have tennants and people within them that share so much in likeness, I believe that an almighty and all knowing force would know better than to make ONE sect for all, why would an asian buddist believe in an middle eastern origin of faith? Why would native americans believe in buddha? My feeling is the way you leave this world is based on your merit, have you done wrong to those around you with no remorse? etc, I dont think someone is evil based on their sexual orientation that's not right to me, if a homosexual pushed someone out of the way of a moving vehicle and thus saved that persons life you really think rationally there is enough cause to justify that person being punished?? Too many people speculate rather than living their life the way they choose and doing the best they can.

A great issue of the "love interest" (in Bioware´s terms) is the conflict of genres.

I´ll give a personal example; you cannot imagine the terrible arguments you can have with someone when you play Left 4 Dead (for example) while she plays Zelda and tells you that "all that zombie crap is not fun!".

Plus the stockings were way too expensive for my hobbo economy, so it was condemnd to tragedy. :D

i find myself defending people's religious beliefs as much as ,y own lack of belief. it's very strange. i find the idea that either side has issues with the other to be very silly. organized religion does have flaws, but that should not mean an individual can not practice what they believe. it's all silly if you ask me. to each their own in pretty much everything: religion, lifestyle, hobbies, etc.

well, extremism comes out in just about everything, regardless of what religion. there are people who take things to extremes in religion, politics, and many other subjects. there is definitely some influence, but to generalize an entire group of people is what i am countering.

Let's see--for this girl, gaming involves Pac-Man, Pong, Empire Strikes Back on Atari, Kotor and TSL, LOTRO, Guild Wars, NWN and NWN2, Rock Band 1 and 2, Mass Effect, etc., etc., etc....

ZOMGOSH! I love Guild Wars!

Sure, I haven't played it in several eternities, but I still fondly remember my Ranger/Warrior (Also named Godak!).

There are rumors floating around that ArenaNet is working on a zombie MMO...I would *Squee!* in public, if that was the case.

Well more like a firm graps on the rear, its not like you can do the football pat like you would do with a buddy who just scored a touchdown playing football.

why do guys do that anyway?

Because it's one of the few socially acceptable moments when they can touch another man's bottom.

why,are they afraid to be thought of as gay? I'm really curious about this aspect of male sports phenomenon

Just saw this now.

And, yeah, I guess. I don't really mind. I know some people are vehemently against it, however. I just think the US still suffers from a severe case of social conservatism.

I wouldn't date anyone who self-identified as a gamer. I mean really, that's what you'd consider really important about yourself? That you sit in front of a TV/monitor all day and do nothing but play out little fantasies?

Why is a gamer substantially better than a reader? Because books are more socially accepted than videogames?

I'm a female gamer and dated a male gamer wayyyyyyyyy back (seven years ago or so). He helped me with games that I am/was too clumsy - could need someone like that again from time to time. He also played different genres (shooters, action in general) so I sometimes watched him play because I was interested in the games (Resident Evil, Silent Hill, Half-Life etc.). We did too few 1on1 beat-em-up rounds, I enjoy them more nowadays than back then. Good thing is, you always had a topic to chat about.

Being interested in games also opens alternate conversation options with males, makes them easier to approach. I met some serious freaks, too.

Wait.

You're posting in a GAMING forum about how gamers "do nothing but play out little fantasies?"

Hello pot, meet kettle.
