Compared to ME1, I would say your crazy. ME2 blows DAO of the water in terms of graphics and gameplay, but in terms of story DAO has ME2 beat.

ME2 lacked the amazing dramatic moments that ME1 and DAO are filled with.

Well ofcourse I was talking about ME2. ME1 is right up there with DA, Tali was actually a great character in the first game but she was ruined by the second one and the rabid mob of kids that obsess over her.

I like Tali, I romanced her, I am also not a child and nor am I obsessive.  Your words wound me kind sir and or madame.

and/or small child.

And if you don't think the OP is a troll:
a) The topic title is 'DA rules, ME 2 suxs!' in a nutshell in the ME2 discussion area.
B) The original post is less than 50 words.
c) The original post does not really explain the OPs position beyond a hate for Tali (no comments on the character cast, gameplay, story, etc, just a hate comment).

And this is something coming from someone who doesn't even have both games registered on this site. Did you even play DA?

I bought collector's editions for both games because I appreciate Bioware more than any other game developer out there. And last year I was actually looking forward to ME infinitely more than DA, but the latter exceeded all of my expectations by miles while ME actually managed to disappoint me in terms of characters and story.

Look at my profile, under ablums.

EDIT: And yeah, I could register it on the forum, but I haven't been arsed to do it yet.

EDIT 2: And now I have - but even if I hadn't bought DA:O, IT WOULDN'T MATTER. You are a god damned troll.

EDIT 3: And here's a hint on how to stop being a troll.

1) The title of the thread - "Dragon Age is so much better than Mass Effect" - bias towards your own opinion - "I like Dragon Age much more than Mass Effect" would have been slightly better. Better still? "Dragon Age vs Mass Effect 2" - neutral, doesn't try and troll people who liked the game.

2) First post - "I much prefer Dragon Age to Mass Effect because..." And then explain your position beyond "OMG, I HATE TALI". And no, "The cast is abit better in DA" is not really explaining your position. End the post with "What does everyone else think? Who else hates Mass Effect?"

3) Responsing to critism - "You didn't play both" is not valid critism when the post was not refering to the games but was, in fact, refering to your post and its trolling nature. What I have or haven't played is irrevelant to my post on your OP.

So I have noticed that 95% of the people who are negative towards ME 2 have Liara somewhere in their profile picture. Please tell me I'm not the only one who notices this...

Wonder why that is? :(

Well I guess to be fair @ me they did do a horrible job of rewriting her character.  Apparently it is suppose to be explained in the comic prequels but I have the CE with the first issue and it still makes no sense

So which BioWare game do you people think is better as far as character writing goes? Although the Mass Effect cast does have a few saving graces, I believe Dragon Age is leaps ahead in this regard.

Jade Empire. It's a pleasure to watch the benign, father like figure of Master Li use you as the most unwitting pawn in his struggles. Then there's Emperor Sun Hai, who sacrificed a god to save his people from starvation. The child Wild Flower who is possessed by demons. The tragic Death's Hand. Oh I loved it.

It was more resonant than either ME or DA for me for a couple of reasons. For one, the opportunity to speak to them on their own was relatively rare. I didn't have to constantly service some arbitrary influence system. Neither was it possible to speak to allies so often that they would simply run out of things to say. They didn't have me running around the world on personal errands simply to secure their loyalty either!

Being able to have three meaningful conversations with your squadmates before they decide to never talk to you again on Mass Effect is infuriating and atmosphere breaking. It makes it obvious I'm playing a videogame. Dragon Age is too much of a soap opera and again, it's all about influence building. Obviously throwing gifts at your allies will make them share all their most intimate secrets with you.

They might all have nice lines and have amazing back stories you can prise out in DA and ME, but sometimes I do yearn for simpler times >.<

Your opinion =/= fact.

I love Mass Effect and Dragon Age, but I'm far more a sci-fi fan than a fantasy fan thus why ME wins out for me. But that isn't true for everyone.

Agreed

One thing I will admit is better than ME2, was that I actually fell in love with a character. My God, I was so in love with Leliana. I dunno what it was about her, but she just seemed so real, and acted and spoke like my perfect girl. Amazing. Other than that, I rate ME1/2 and DA:O on par. They are both equally amazing games in their own right!

*shrugs* I probably liked Dragon Age more than Mass Effect. That's simply because Dragon Age was the first game in a good 10 years to bring back the pause and play tactical party based combat that was actually relatively challenging. The plot of Dragon Age wasn't too great, but it played like a series of serials, and each serial did satisfy greatly plot-wise. It was also much longer than Mass Effect 2. Even after all of these things, Mass Effect 2 still came close. Mass Effect 2 had GREAT voice acting from almost everyone. The game play was incredibly fun, and it is quite emotionally engaging on most of the loyalty missions. I thought the main plot was a crap chute. I just hope in ME 3 they can explain why what happened in ME 2 had to happen without sacrificing the over all plot of the entire trilogy.

I like much more ME2 than DA:O. It has the real SWKotOR feel, while DA:O seems like a fail attempt on Baldur's Gate.

Not that i didn't like DA:O. I liked it a lot. But ME2 so far is winning by large.

If characters in ME and DA were made so that everyone liked them, they'd be bland milquetoast.

It's the fact they have distinct personalities that some people love and some people hate is a testiment to their 3-dimensionality and believability.

Really, OP? Riling up ME fans against DA fans, with a slice of trolling Tali fans?

What a sad individual you are, really.

Jade Empire blows all other BW games out of the water. Everything about it was flawless victory. As soon as I finished DAO, I loaded up JE to get a real Bioware experience. cough gag cough

I actually do think it had one of the best villains in any game I played.

I played DA last night for the first time after hearing so much good stuff about it, but was bored out of my skull, but I can't stand fantasy stuff anyway.

I don't get DAO/ME comparisons...one is fantasy, other is sci-fi. To me, that's completely different. To me, ME is FAR better. DAO was nice but the story is a million times more flat, the general attitude of the game is far from mature, the combat is more or less microing in the old D&D style. The only thing I would like to see in ME1&2 is more inter-character interaction as XX55XX mentioned. I've played strictly fantasy games since the 90's. ME has actually managed to draw me away from them more...
