I beat the game on my Shep, recruited everyone possible and successfully beat all their loyalty missions, talked with just about everyone there is to talk with (hence taking and completing their assignments), have an 100% possible explored milky way galaxy (hence i did every anomaly) yet my Shepard is but a level 27 vangaurd, 3 levels too short for the achievment, what i r missing? I was 29 after my first playthrough without even trying, so I'm sure it's possible. At least if you start from a Level 60 ME1 character, you get Level 5 in ME2 for that.

Did you import a level 60 Shepard? I did, and had no trouble hitting 30

Even importing a 57 Shepard (sounds like some kind of badass muscle car), my first character hit 30 and still had several N7 missions left.

With the ME1 import bonus and the Long Service bonus for beating the game, any character you import that was Level 60 can easily get Level 30 in ME2 before passing through the Omega-4 relay.

thanks for the replies all, my Shepard was below level 50 for import so that must be why, guess i'll have to depend on future DLC for exp. now.

I've hit level 30 with plenty of left over XP in one go with a lvl 49 import. With a lvl 60 import I can do it before IFF mission and before Tali's quest (I leave that until after IFF so I can bring Legion along).

Reading these posts, it's clear higher level importing definitely plays a factor. I have a friend who didn't play ME1 ask me the same thing. I reached level 30 in my first play through after importing a level 60 Shep but I wasn't 100% sure that's why I reached 30 and he didn't. Now I can tell him the scoop.

I hit level 30 on my second play through with a new char, no import. I went all Renegade on this one, and was a female.

I did. On the collector base towards the middle part of the mission. It was an imported lvl 60 character though, I had a head start.

I imported a level 39 and got to level 30 on the last boss fight. So yes, it's possible without a bonus.

Imported an ME1 character, did all the missions, exceeded paragon points, with some renegade points, explored all planets, did it all, (even DLC) and completed game Level 23. I think it depends on mode you play game in (the "normal to insanity" spectrum)........

Imported a level 58 Shep and hit 30 relatively easy. Didn't even do most of the sidequests.

I imported a level 50 from ME1, I made it to level 28 on my first playthrouh of ME2.

Now I am going back through ME1 to get to level 60 to import for my next playthrough of ME2.

Do every single quest and story arc and you will get it. Trust me its hard, but you can do it!

Import a level 60 Shepard and do almost all the N7 missions (and all the Loyalty missions). Or get the long service medal achievement and get a 20% XP Boost. Both ways will do it. Combined, you are 30 like 3/4 through the game.

If you have the long service medal achievement you can easily get to level 30 in one playthrough w/o exploring any of the optional clusters.  All you have to do in that scenario is make sure to do every loyalty quest and you should be squared away by the time the credits roll.  Easy peasy.

I got to level 30 without even importing one from ME1.
I think it has to do with difficulty because this was my insanity playthrough. I got to level 30 just as the suicide mission began :)

I imported my level 60 character for my first playthrough, did all the N7 missions and sidequests, and hit 30 during the Human-Reaper fight. Perfect.

Difficulty has nothing to do with it. Same amount of xp no matter if its Normal Hardcore or Insanity.  Only time your xp changes is if you have the long service medal.

I beleve it is near impossible unless you play on the hardest difficulties on ps3(we can't import Level 60 Shep's and get the bonus). I played as a Sentinal on Veteran and finished a few hundred xp less than rank 30. Started the Suicude Mission as a 27 or 28. Got to 29 b4 Human Reaper. Do you not get any xp when you beat him? I got some after knocking him off, but not when I killed him. Woulda put me over the top. I did every side mission. Ended with full Paragon and a little Renegade. Starting my insanity playthrough. Going for renegade. I have all trophies Cept get merc's loyalty(chose Paragon option in first playthrough), insanity, and incinerate 25 shields. Guess I'll have to chose another class after finishing insanity. Another question, for my Paragon Shep to carry over to NE 3, I'll have to do ANOTHER paragon run-through, correct? I'll have to do all missions ( side and main) again to take full advantage of upload story points. Wish it would save both Shep's after starting new game with uploaded me2 Shep.
