I took the Bastion special class for the first time and it's not working! I didn't notice it right away, so I need to load an older savegame! What a loss of time! I lost like 10 hours, thank you very much, Bioware!
The problem is that when you cast Bastion Stasis on enemies, you still cannot damage them with tech/biotic abilities. And if you tell your companions to shoot the enemy, they will just stand there and do nothing! The only way to damage an enemy in Bastion stasis is actually by shooting them yourself. And I NEVER use weapons in this game. In fact, I usually leave my companions behind whenever possible, so I actually never kill any enemies with weapons, relying on tech/biotic abilities instead. It works great even on hardcore difficulty, never get damaged and never shoot an enemy, that's the two rules by which I play this game. I am not going to shoot enemies! I am not, and Bioware should have mentioned in the description of Bastion that it's useless! The description says "enemies in Stasis can still be damaged". What the hell?! They cannot be damaged by damping, electronics, decryption, warp or your companions' weapons (cause they won't shoot), so WHY DON'T YOU MENTION THIS; huh, Bioware?
I am going back to Nemesis. Thanx for wasting my time, Bioware. Oh, and have I already mentioned that I hate you?
I hate you, Bioware! Bastion Stasis is not working!

you refuse to use your weapon and complain to bioware that your enemies dont die?
i see a fatal flaw in your argument

They didn't waste your time, your playstyle did.
You can still do perfectly well with a bastion build. It's quite useful for the faster cooldowns and the passive barrier recovery.

yes, well, as I said, I never get damaged in Mass Effect, so I couldn't care less about the barrier. Also consider that Nemesis provides a cooldown bonus too, think about it, it increases the duration of all your powers, so incapacitation powers like singularity and stasis last longer, giving you more time to cooldown, which basically increases your cooldown time IN ADDITION to increasing the damage and duration of all powers, incl. offensive ones. The only real reason to take Bastion is Bastion Stasis, but thanx to Bioware, it's not working, so I say forget Bastion.

Actually nemesis doesn't provide any cooldown above the base adept. Whereas bastion does.
Nemesis:
Level 7 Increases force and damage of Throw by 4%. Increases duration of Lift, Warp, Singularity, Barrier and Stasis by 4%. Stacks with Adept/Vanguard bonuses.
Level 8 Increases duration or damage of biotic abilities by 6%.
Level 9 Increases duration or damage of biotic abilities by 8%. Increases Warp's radius by 2 m and damage per second by 25%.
Level 10 Increases duration or damage of biotic abilities by 10%.
Level 11 Increases duration or damage of biotic abilities by 12%.
Level 12 Increases duration or damage of biotic abilities by 14%. Increases Lift's radius by 4 m.
Bastion:
Rank 7: Reduces recharge time on biotic talents by 18%. Stacks with Adept/Sentinel bonuses.
Rank 8: Reduces recharge time on biotic talents by 20%.
Rank 9: Reduces recharge time on biotic talents by 22%. Barrier Specialization gained:
Increases Barrier's shield strength and duration by 25%. Barrier will regenerate 40 shields per second.
Rank 10: Reduces recharge time on biotic talents by 24%.
Rank 11: Reduces recharge time on biotic talents by 26%.
Rank 12: Reduces recharge time on biotic talents by 28%. Stasis Specialization gained:
Enemies affected by Stasis can still be damaged.
With bastion, decent medical exos and a good amp You can get the cycle time on your biotics down to about 11 seconds. Nemesis will be closer to 15 or 16. I'm not saying nemesis is invalid just that it's your playstyle that makes bastion useless. Bastion is generally considered better for a normal adept(using ar or master marksman pistol). There was a whole lot of discussion about this on the old bio-boards.
