Comments about the "maker" was ALL over Dragon Age. I found it funny and temping to tick charaters off when they asked me any opinion about the "maker" (and I often did...
).

I always thought of Andraste as being somewhere between Jesus and Joan of Arc -- but otherwise those work as pretty broad comparisons.Jackimole wrote...

Chantry = Roman Catholic Church
Tevinter Chantry = Easter Orthodox Church

I think Maferath as a Judas-type figure is fair. Judas is the classic "betrayer" in Christianity, just as Maferath is in the Chantry. None of the comparisons work beyond a superficial level, but in terms of symbolism it works.
