I killed them on nightmare with a pure melee party, without the knights help I didn't stand any chance (might be the toughest fight in the game if you do Redcliffe early).

I can't even take down two at a time, but all swings miss or do 1 damage. I could hurt the darn revenat but it would kill off my des and offtank, so I had to use Sir Pith to hold him as I killed the trash to get it one-on 4 .

I'm trying to do this, but every time I do at least a couple of armors run to my ranged attackers (myself and Morrigan) at some point. I have both Allistair and Sten using Threaten and blunt weapons. My party is level 8 and I can't even manage to kill 1 armor before one of my party members goes down.mosspit wrote...
Taunt to get attention of the armors. Get out of the room and position the tank in between the side bench and the wall. Done correctly your tank will only be atked by 2 armor - 1 from each side. Dun aggro the rest of the armor and juz focus on the one your tank is focusing on.
I have to say that I'm not really finding the combat in this game very enjoyable so far compared to most other Bioware RPGs I've played - I've had to fight most encounters multiple times on Normal in order to figure out the "gimmick" to beating them.

Check out screeny

Orientation-wise fireplace is to the btm of the pix. In the said position, only a single armour will atk you at any one time. So basically the tank can hide there while your party supports him from afar. Just be careful of arggoing unnecessarily.
