In no particular order.

* SR2 reveal. Gave me chills.

* Pretty much anything involving the Tali romance/loyalty mission. Especially hugging her and her gratitude after you tell off the admirals.

* Kaiden getting pissed at me on Horizon. He really sounded hurt that I was with Cerberus... I could understand his anger, but at the same time it really stung. Not sure it was really "heart warming", but it really gave Kaiden some depth as a character and I found it quite moving.

* Miranda's loyalty mission, especially encouraging her to talk to her sister. That really changed my opinion of her.

* "Don't die. You promise me, dammit!" Especially if you hit the "No Promises" reply. Anyone who says the Miranda romance is purely about lust is disproved by her response.

* Archangel revealed as Garrus. I'd stayed away from almost all ME2 spoilers so I wasn't sure he was in... and when I walked up and saw the blue armor I was like "Hell yes." We got to continue our bromance.

* Wrex calling me his friend.

* Getting Thane to open up and tell me I was the only friend he made in 10 years.

* "How do you like THAT you sons of b****es!"

* Miranda telling the Illusive Man to go to hell.

* The end of the suicide mission, saving your squad member (it was Miranda for me the first time), running out of the base, just making it out in time... epic.

I echo everything already said here.. But the one scene that got me a lot though it was not heart warming was on Samara's mission when you are going through Nef's room and talking to her mother. I could not see how you could not want some revenge and justice for Nef and her mother.

I hugged her too.

Some of my favorites :

The SR2 Normandy reveal always makes me lean back and smile, no so much heartwarming as it is "Awww yeah ... ".

At the end of Samara's mission when she asks you to take pity on an old broken warrior and let her have the time she needs to mourn before talking to you. I wanted so much to tell her it'd be alright but what could anyone say in the wake of what had just happend that wouldn't sound trite.

Everything about Thane's romance and his love scene. Epic table fist punch gets me every time.

Finding Garrus on Omega, just how tired and beaten he sounds.

Wrex on Tuchanka. I love how he looks so bored one minute and sees Shepard and jumps up like a little kid and runs over. The excitement and then awe and relief in his voice was quite something since Wrex isn't a fluffy bunny of emotions.

Going through Jack's friendship.

Anderson sounding tired / frustrated / irritated at the Council's BS and a little put out with Shepard for putting him in that spot.

Getting an email from mom and hearing about her on the galactic news stream. Fight the good fight mom, don't buy the Alliance BS for a minute, they hung your kid out to dry!

Miranda's loyalty mission.

There are so many more, I could keep going on and on.

Oh yeah I loved all those.

When I was making my way to Archangel and it showed it was Garrus I cheered out loud.  Awesome surprise.  I started to think maybe we would get all of our ME1 squad back.

1 - Liara almost crying because she thought you might hate her for giving your body to Cerberus just because she wanted you back. That was awesome.

2 - Watching Liara & Shepard kiss.

3 - The Paragon Hug on Tali's Loyalty quest

4 - Shooting Conrad Verner in the foot and then saying "Let me make this perfectly clear... ... This is not acceptable."

5 - Talking to Samara after you kill her daughter.

6 - Discovering that Archangel is Garrus.

7 - Reading Tali's journal on Haestrom and learning that she misses Shepard.

8 - The entire Tali romance. It's so cute watching her stutter and stumble over her words. "Did it just get hot in here?"

9 - Meeting Joker, was another Home Coming feeling.

10 - Seeing the new Normandy put a huge grin on my face, felt like I was coming home

The conversation when you tell Tali you like her too. Listening to her explain how she couldn't not be interested always makes me smile. I also loved seeing the Normandy take off again. Also reading Pressley's log at the crash site. It made me realize how much I miss Pressley and the old Normandy SR1.

Shepard dies if every other squadmate dies before him. Basically Joker has to be the one to pull you onto the ship, and because of his disease he's not strong enough. You die due to bad leadership, essentially.

The Tali romance is pretty intense, as soon as Chambers tells you she has the hots for you, helping her deal with that crap trial, her father dying, and speaking passionately on her behalf in front of all her people? The captain is a greatly respected figure in Quarian culture too, and she really likes that you're her captain.

That's some serious stuff.

Honestly though, every romance has moments like that though, even LI's from ME1, which I'm looking forward to in ME3.

Miranda - Her romance is the most satisfying to me, in terms of winning her over. It can be like that if you're tough on Ashley in ME1, but that's more of you being "hard to get" than her. Miranda point blanks tells you to stop talking and focus on the mission early on. As the game goes on she softens up, and the loyalty mission completely opens her up to her humanity, which was crazy awesome. Niket betraying her, telling her to go talk to her sister, seeing her break down (in a good way), her thanking you. On top of all of that, this is the woman who relentlessly spent two years bringing you back from the dead, she's a damn polygon supermodel, and in the end she dumps the Illusive Man and Cerberus for you. When she says to not die, that was big too.

Jack - Her romance is tough for me to do because she's so lost. The more you learn about Jack, you feel pity and shake your head, but when it all comes to a head, underneath all the all-powerful **** bravado, she's a woman. A lonely, tough, independent woman who needs someone who gives a damn about her. She feels like she can put off the act with Shepard over time and when that happens, it's magic folks. I play a Paragon Shepard though, and she's more of Renegade Shepard's future sidekick in crime and main squeeze, especially the Earthborn background type. They'd both be orphans and would understand what having learning from the school of hard knocks is like. I'm surprised that didn't make it's way into the romance for the newer ME2 characters, but there's still room for it later on. One of those things they bring up and ask you bedside or something.

Kaidan/Ashley - This was GENIUS on the part of Bioware to make it hard to be faithful to your squeeze from ME1, hearing them question who you have become, calling your loyalty out, etc. Not entirely convincing as they're worked up and emotional about you, but still a tough pill to swallow. These are going to be super-satisfying in the events of ME3, no question, because of the anticipation. Of course, if you jump into bed with another, it could be disastrous and heart-wrenching. You know they're going to join your squad and you know Miranda, the most capable ex-Cerberus agent, Tali, your go-to Tech chick, Jack, who has nowhere else to go, will be there. The cat will be out of the bag on the Normandy when they pick up on your dalliance. I think if you've been cheating, everyone will jump ship, shake their fist at you, and you'll be on the extranet looking up Emily Wong before the final battle LOL. Hmm new LI. Anyway...

Liara - This one is very, very interesting. She's the innocent digger girl who can't shut up in ME1, bonds with you, her first experience in that department, and now she's a ruthless huntress looking to bring down the Shadow Broker. Fist smashing? Death threats? Damn girl! Bioware did not screw this one up, which some people seem to think. Paragon Shepard will be disappointed at first, but if the rumors about DLC involving Liara and the Shadow Broker turn out to be true, you'll get to see it come to a head. Redemption appears to be all about her getting in too deep fighting for you and your body after you die, and her revenge has consumed her. When you help her get it or maybe stop her, if you're paragon shepard and have her turn the Shadow Broker in, she'll be a woman who's seen and been through a lot lately and needs a hug and a hard... nevermind . Not the awkward Prothean data disc girl anymore, and will be alive for potentially 1000 years to tell the tales of Commander Shepard as Benezia's daughter, who helped stop the Reapers. That's a serious legacy right there, having potentially the most respected future Matriarch in Asari history as your bump buddy.

BIG question - Who the hell is Miranda's father? No one names him, he's apparently a super rich Earth-based tycoon. Shadow Broker maybe? Wouldn't that be some crazy stuff if you have to help Liara hunt down Miranda's father? It's too much of a mystery not to consider. That is an utterly ticklish possibility.

For me it has to be the Tali hug, although the whole Tali romance is too sweet for words. Image IPB

Everything really has been said, but Miranda's is the one that sticks out for me, especially if you've seen what happens if you don't convince her to go to her sister.

Keeping everyone alive. I rush through the ending sequence flinching at every cutscene. When Garrus clutched the side of his stomach, I nearly freaked out. When I finally got the achievement that told me everyone survived I felt like I had accomplished something.

When you talk to Joker after meeting Ash on Horizon:

"Oh, I get it, it was a mutual thing. Yeah. Hey Shepard, if you need anyone to talk to about this... I hear Chambers is real good at that."

"You're a real pal, Joker."

"Just lookin' out for ya."

Ranks right up there with telling Garrus he's hideous. Quality male bonding right there.

Also, it doesn't get mentioned enough, but EDI calling Joker "Jeff" for the first time after the crew gets abducted. After all those loyalty missions, that last comment felt like the last link in the chain holding the crew together.

So many...

-Hugging Tali, Tali's logs in her recruitment mission, helping Tali in the trial... etc

-Finding out Archangel was Garrus, then the sick gurgling and blood when I thought he was dead (seriously, it hurt)

-Seeing how cold Liara had become

-Watching Kelly die :(

-Jack's redemption

-Thane's meeting with his son in the turian's apartment

And the one that takes the cake..

-The sad music as Shep ponders Thane, Jack, and Mordin's coffins in the Normandy hold. Seriously, there were tears

6. Getting everyone through the Suicide Mission. I am attached to almost all of the characters in ME2 (wasn't true for ME1), and was quite happy that no one was lost.

Interesting that you say that.  I truly believe that BW put the loyalty missions in for that very reason.  In ME1, you didn't have that, and like you, I never really connected with all of my squadmates.
My choice would be either Tali's loyalty mission, or Miranda's.

The beauty to me of ME2 in terms of ME1's characters is that you got to connect with all of your former squad in some capacity. Wrex as chief of Tuchanka was awesome, especially when he gets right up and ignores Uvenk to say what's up. The Krogan are going to play a huge role in ME3 and he'll be leading them beside you. Bad ass. Liara has huge potential moving forward, as does Kaidan/Ashley, and we already know about Garrus and Tali.

In a way, ME2's encounters with each of them is a mini-loyalty mission of its own, and ME3 will see all of those relationships come to a head.

At the end of ME3, a Dragon Age style epilogue would be super awesome, seeing how everyone you ran into along the way turned out after you save the day.

Unless BW decides to continue the story of course. Which would be the smart thing to do :)
