Watching Tali take a rocket to the face. I knew it was going to be satisfying but I didn't know just how satisfying is was going to be.

When first meeting Garrus. I already knew that he was Archangel, but it was still a heartwarming moment when he was revealed. And then I completely panicked when he was wounded, I thought I had done something wrong and he was going to die.

At the end of the game, when I realized that I had managed to keep everyone alive.

Also, the romance with Thane is half heartwarming and half heartbreaking.

-Hugging Tali
-Recruiting Garrus
-Thane begin together with his son
-Beat the crap out of Mouse and that guy you arrest and shoot the turian on Thane's mission
-The speech after being through the swarm with the biotic field
-getting the SR2
-getting the SR2
-and that 1000 times more
-When Wrex said "My friend"
-Pressly's log on the Normandy Crashsite
-Rewrite the herotics
-Miranda talking with her sister and talking with here after that mission.

Liara was heart-cold for me. I thought she would be changed, but that asari just isn't Liara.

Couple of things:

Well, I ruined a LOT of this game by looking at the forums, so when I went for Garrus, I knew it was Garrus. I did not know that he was going to ALMOST DIE though! That was definitely an emotional moment...

The shopkeeper on Illium who is harassing the colonists from Zhu's Hope when she breaks down. Then, right after that, Shiala says something about the galaxy being a horrible place.

Tali's hug. That whole mission really.

Talking to Samara after Morinth is dead.

When Liara breaks down.

More, definitely. Bioware certainly knows their stuff.

Comforting Tali after finding her fathers body and listening to her log talking about missing Shepard.

The Salarian and his Asari daughter talking.

Seeing Miranda cry after talking to her sister.

The Asari that breaks down when talking about her daughters on the Citadel. I wanted so badly to tell her that I met both of them and they were happy doing what they did.

Meeting Wrex again, was expecting him to hug Shepard with how happy he was to see him. Gotta love the big guy.

Talking to Samara after she kills Morinth.

Ah yes, how could I forget Pressly. His journal was really touching.

No, I was sad too. She was a cute npc character, and it's a shame Shepard will never get that appointment. :(

The first thing that came to my mind was when my Shepard convinced Miranda to go introduce herself to her sister. That was heartwarming.

The stuff at Tali's loyalty quest was also good.

The chats with Samara and then in the end she tells you that if you ever need her help again in the future, just ask and she'll be there (aparently renegade Shepards don't get that conversation, and instead Samara says that if she ever sees you again she must kill you for being bad).

Getting the email from the mother of the girl Morinth murdered on Omega thanking you that the b*tch is finally dead (even though it was Samara who did the hard stuff and Shepard just watched...).

Hearing over the news announcements on Illium that after Conrad Verner left the bar he set up an orphanage called "Shepard's".

Oh, and I just remembered one of the most heartwarming bits - after you crack open Dr. Chakwas' bottle of serrice Ice brandy - her recollection of Kaiden and Jenkins good old days and then she admits that she is here on the Normandy with Cerberus because she feels she needs to take care of Joker...

Or the bit where you free Chakwas from the pod and she's like "I can't believe you came to rescue us!" and you can say "No one get's left behind!".

Also, the scene were Garrus laughs after Shepard makes fun of his newly damaged face comes in at a close second. I can't really explain it, but Garrus' expression seems to show a spectrum of emotions - relief, joy, and a feeling of acceptance by simply teaming up with Shepard again. Perhaps I am looking to much into this relatively insignificant scene, but I have to say it was one of the most emotional scenes I've witnessed during my Mass Effect 2 playthroughs.

I always thought in being paragon to Garrus in ME1, Shepard came across as a bit of an arse. It was great to see Garrus back in ME2 and there was some real comaraderie between Shep and Garrus. This scene nailed a friendship forged between the two that I wish had been more evident in ME1.

Finding Garrus, seeing him nearly die and then having the scene in the comm room is definitely up there.

In no particular order
1) "Been better, but it's sure is good to see a friendly face" really drove home just what a desperate state Garrus was in. The line, the voice, I could just imagine the toll the fight was having on him.
2)I didn't realize that a Tali romance was possible in this game so her awkwardly endearing confession that Shep was the only she truly trusted for "um...intimacy" completely caught me off-guard. That conversation still puts a smile on my face.
3)Mordin contemplating the korgan corpse. That whole mission should a template for presenting ethical dilimas in games.

Hmm, there were quite a few, many of which have been listed by other people, but let's see:
  • Hugging Tali on her loyalty mission.
  • Patting Nef's mother on the shoulder to try to comfort her.
  • Seeing the SR-2 for the first time.
  • Seeing Wrex!
  • Thane's romance scene.
  • Thane and his son at the end of Thane's loyalty mission.
  • Miranda and her sister.
  • Reading Pressly's journal and finding out that he was willing to sacrifice his life for everyone, including the alien crew members.
  • Seeing Garrus for the first time!
  • Returning the lost locket to that asari in Nos Astra.

Yeah..."And then he said he would love our daughters, no matter what color they were." Manly tears. Even as the most puppy-kicking Council-disconnecting Renegade Shepard, I can't break them up.

Ohhh, yeah. This got me too, big time. Pretty much everything being mentioned here got to me, from the salarian dad and his asari daughter to the moments with Tali, Jack, Thane, and Miranda, but this one in particular just grabbed my heart and melted it into a freaking puddle. I was like, "Oh. My. God. WHY are you not in that krogan's arms yet?!"

Even the memory is getting me all mushy. Damn it. They're like the cutest couple ever.

As many others have said, Tali's loyalty mission after you find her father and hug her. Also on the mission to recruit her. Hearing her video recordings in the journal about missing us and wishing we were there was sad.

A lot of stuff with Samara and her daughter was also pretty sad and the Garrus romance after the silly stuff was sad.

Not a touching one exactly, but one scene early on really grabbed hold of me.

When Garrus gets injured during the fight with the gunship early on. Hearing him choking on his own blood had me totally convinced I had done something wrong and he was going to die right there.

Another surprisingly touching moment was the culmination of romancing Jack.

Several moments with Tali that others have already listed (she's my favorite LI)

So many others, it's hard to think of them all.

Tali's loyalty mission was the most heart-warming part of the game. They really fleshed out the character Tali with this. I found Tali pretty boring in ME1, but she became my most favorite character in ME2!

I really liked it when Shepard and Wrex met up with each other again. The music kicked in, and it was a cool moment between two old friends. Of course, for those of you who didn't play ME1, this probably meant nothing.

Me too! I didn't realize how much I'd missed Wrex until that scene.  The bro gestures between him and my FemShep kind of amused me too.

All the ME1 reunions were poignant actually, esp. with the music.  Although Kaiden didn't waste any time ruining it being a little **** about things.

All the romances and everything everyone has already said.

I love the drink with Dr. Chacwas.

Having a beer with Gianna Parasini.

Getting the Rachni Queen message.

Beginning of Grunt's Loyalty mission if you get the Shaman to like you.  "I like this human, he/she understands."

At the end of Grunt's Loyalty mission if you choose the neutral option when talking to Uthank,
Shepard   "If I know Grunt your answer is coming at muzzle velocity."
Grunt         "Hah, you do know Grunt!!"
BOOOOM!!!!   And Grunt just lays that other Krogan flat out.

Grunt's Loyalty mission when he gets several breeding requests and Shepard gets 1.

Grunt's Loyalty mission when Wrex welcomes him to Urdnot.

Garrus Recruitment mission, just that quick line when Shepard asks Garrus if he's ok.  And then when Garrus calls all the Mercs witless idiots.

Garrus Loyalty Mission, talking with Garrus on the way to kill Sidonis in the taxi, Paragon Options.  Shows how much Shepard really cares for Garrus.

Thane's recruitment mission on Illium, saving as many workers as you can.  I really felt for those workers....and REALLY wanted to slay Nasanna.  I choose all renegade options vs Mercs and Nassana on that run even though I'm paragon cause I'm so mad.

Mordin Singing and rambling.  I never interupt Mordin I love his lines.

Saving Kal Ree'gar on Tali's recruitment mission.  Then talking to him later during her loyalty mission.  I think if you are Femshep those two might have a thing going hehe.

Saving the sick Batarian plague victim during Mordin's recruitment mission.  Finally got to see a Batarian smile.  Makes me hope we finally get a Batarian squadmate in ME3.

Petting/Feeding Urdz the varren and having him follow you around Tuchanka.

Mordin Paragon Loyalty Mission ending, "Not a murderer."

Tali and Garrus walking up the Citadel stairs, "tell me again about your immune system."   "I have a shotgun."

Talking to the Matriarch Bartender on Illium about her mother and father.

Sorry, but I have to say this: if ME1 was epicness in my 360, ME2 was just touching, I did really feel the characters are alive in this game. Epic too, but what I will remember will be the emotional moments. From what i've experienced so far. I have to finish my Female playthrough.

- All Tali relationship. From an incredible: "Shepard? Are you really alive?" to her feeling confession to you, "i've watchedyou for so long, and I could never imagined you could see me through... this" (or something like that, my bad). And the Tali-hug, of course. She sounds DESEPERADE, it was amazing. My best experience in ME2 by far (well, suicide mission is a close one, that music's epic).

- Garrus recovering from his injuries. He was like a renegade-cop with temperamental issues I had to paragonise in ME1, but in ME2 we were just old friends, badass old friends. In fact, first time I did his recruitement mission I didn't knew he was Archangel, and when I saw him almost dying i really though: "****! don't tell me I wasn't quick enought. Did I really screwed up the mission?".

- Wrex reencounter. Amazing. Again, it really felt like an old friend to me, like he knew me. Also, knowing what he was doing encouraged me. I though: "man, that's my Wrex"

- Liara, in a recent playtrhough, when she told me her true story. I was a bit troll in these forums before because I felt she was just like her mother, but that moment was good enough to make me think twice.

- Thane's loyalty mission. Seriously, all of it. From his pray before dissapearing to his conversation with his son. That one really felt like someone that knows that death's nigh and inevitable.

- Mordin finding the dead female krogan. I felt ignorant in comparision with him. I though I knew everything about Genophage, but Mordin just proofed me wrong. Very emotional.

- Miranda indtroducing herself to her sister. I admit I didn't really like Miranda that much (that's not saying I dislike her. I love all ME2 squadmates), but that moment was genuine.

- Samara's convo after her loyalty mission if you are paragon (don't know about being renegade about this, an engineer Sheploo is waiting for that), and her fight with Morinth.

- Jack's loyalty mission.

_______

Some minor things:

- The pure-blood Asari on Illium.

- The Salarian father.

- The quarian mother during tali's loyalty mission.

- The Geth questioning about it having a soul.

- The Normandy SR2.

- The motherf*cking begining. Speacially after watching the Launch Trailer. I felt really sad watching Shepard, my Shepard, me dying.

- Saving Tali from falling during the final mission, and then her helping me the same way.

...

And probably i'm forgeting things. Crap, this game's one of the best games i've played for things like these.

EDIT: some typos here and there. My appologies xD

Garrus's recruit mission. I felt like my poor Shepard was all overwhelmed, all of her friends gone and having to work with these people she hates and then there's Garrus all nice and familiar. The way she says "Garrus! What are you doing here?" made me aww.

Meeting Ash again. Until I realized she wasn't actually happy to see me and was in fact majorly pissed off.

Hugging Tali.

The Asari who lost her two daughters was really heartbreaking. I was hoping for a hug option lol.
