Gamersgate doesn't patch it's games. Just download and apply a normal patch and it will work fine.

aidamei,
Why are you unable to get the patch? Your posts confuse me.
I am curious as to what other games you play? Is Dragon age one of your first RPG games?

#1 tip, invest in atleast 1 healing spell for the mage in your group. Make sure you set the tactics to include it if your health gets under 50%.
#2 tip, before starting a fight, switch the the warrior in your group and get him to be the first one they attack. If they go for you as a rouge you will die in a few shots. Set the warrior to a defensive tactic.
#3 tip, Use all the money you make selling extra gear to make potions.

You are a weird person :s

You can't just say "ok, I can't do this, it's impossible, I better pray with cheats and ****" - part of the game's charm is to figure out tactics if you wipe, not just Hack'n'Slash like the good old Diablo days!

I found your post pretty offensive to be honest. I wouldn't mind helping, but I think it comes down to you being a bit too bad at this game. Well, maybe. Practise makes perfect I guess... we all wipe on encounters and have to adapt

I don't want your "help"

I find you quite "offensive"  actually a better word is despicable

And I certainly didn't ask for your pathetic sob story of tough love

No this is not my first RPG or my second or third or even 20th

Ive followed all those tips already
It makes no difference

I dont play RPGs on easy in order to re-do battle scenarios 20 to 30 times for one battle

That is not EASY

That is HARD

Take the Circle Mage the game gives you and cast Paralze on the Ogre to start the fight out. Then just attack it and drink potions until its dead.. I did this my first play thourgh on easy and I killed it in like 1 min flat.  Also have you Mage cast Flame weapons for extra damage.

I have to find some trainer or some cheat mod of some kind for this party

They will not survive otherwise and I'm not going to throw $70.00 down the drain and accept being swindled.....No way!  There's something called false advertising you know....claiming something is a certain way when it genuinely and totally is not that way.

You tell me what is easy about this?

And yes (someone asked) Was I sure the setting was on easy?

Ugh ,Yeah it is on easy.

So,what is easy so far in this game?

The answer is NOTHING

and that's deception and I dont appreciate it!

Can you tell me if this cheat mod works with the P.C. (GamersGate) version of this game:

Console Command Codes
Make a shortcut to your desktop of "daorigins.exe" (Dragon Age/bin_ship/daorigins.exe) go to shortcut properties, and under Target add -enabledeveloperconsole (after ..daorigins.exe" ) Then go into the keybindings.ini file located in "My Documents\\\\\\\\BioWare\\\\\\\\Dragon Age\\\\\\\\Settings\\\\\\\\" Find the line "OpenConsole_0=Keyboard::Button_X" (GRAVE is default, change X to any button that is not already used in the game.) Save the file, and start the game with the shortcut you created on your desktop (daorigins.exe - shortcut) In-game, you press the key that you have chosen (Keyboard::Button_X) and then type the following codes: (Note, this has only been tested on the retail version, and not the Steam version. Also, you may not see the console, or what you are typing, this is normal.)

I have to know if it does before I proceed

Gamersgate pc version is the same as every other pc version. If there are cheats and a cheat mod it should work regardless. I checked your character profile. You need to buy or find some armor and quit wearing tattered clothes. Not all the companions start with decent armor either. There would be a good place to start.

That is just to enable the use of the console.... and yes turning on the console does work. You still need to find console commands that will do what you want.

What do you feel was false advertising? For me the advertised it as a single player group RPG and that is what I am getting out of it.

And if you want serious help from people on the forums you really need to outline what your running into and how you are trying to handle it. Telling people you cant do it isn't necessarily enough. Provide a quick run down of your battles, what are your group members doing, what are the enemy mobs doing, etc etc.

well considering he spams his own topic, his profile and character update are...hopefully behind as it seems, he doesnt wear armor of any sort nor a decent weapon.

I doubt your customed to rpg's. im not going to tell you any cheats anyway since thats simply not the way to play it. Its neither false advertising cuz easy is easy and normal is normal and so on.

I think its safe to say your either a troll or simply a noob at rpgs of this kind.

The Ogre is easy if you know how to beat him. I did it on normal level. Equip all but one member with bows then zap it hard with the last member so that it comes after him, then just run around the room with it chasing you so that the others can shoot it to death. When it turns on them just zap it hard again.

Heh. He's using a shield on a dual-weapon rogue PC as well. Maybe he just likes the look of the prison garb more than any of the leather armor he's found?

Trolls are,by definition, folks whose purpose is to inflame and aggravate other people especially on forums such as these.

Their methods certainly vary, however there are a few very fundamental aspects common to all trolls.

One method, which you have obviously mastered,is fabricating falsehoods (lies) and spreading it around to people especially on forums such as this.

You know nothing at all of my armour because I did not post those specifics

At the moment my main character is wearing:  Scale Armor (Steel) Dwarven Boots,Helmut and Gloves

The most expensive stuff I could afford at the present moment which makes your statement above a fabricated lie and subsequently proves that indeed you are the troll feeding off of your pathetic lies.

I have a very important question

It is a two fold question

Is there a website where someone can pull up a listing of all the various travelling companions one meets up with at each town and gives a description of them?

I have also another question;

How does your main character persuade (Gromin) dwarf from the beginning of story to rejoin the party AFTER you meet up with him in the human towm of Denerim whilst he has become a merchant of dwarven merchandise?

I know some of you said that you felt that the cheat console I posted here was safe to use for me.

Can you please elaborate?

There was a warning on it saying it had not been tested with Steam (the other online download vendor) mine was GamersGate

I thought that games purchased and downloaded online could not use patches except if they were issued by that vendor and that that would apply to stuff like this cheat mode as well?

Is that incorrect information?

Thank you

Can you please tell me where I can find a list of the companions (for party) from town to town?

Do you know anything about this cheat code?

Do you have any idea whether it is safe for me to utilise on my gamers gate version game?

Do you predict I am going to run headfirst into some major glitches in the game which will block me henceforth from moving forward?

I ask this being to the fact that GamersGate has offered no patch and may possibly not offer any at all for this game

These are my instructions which make sense

Secrets
Platform: PC
Dragon Age: Origins Cheat: Cheat List
Alter game files at your own risk and always make backups! Make a shortcut for the file daorigins.exe found in C:\\Games\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe or wherever you installed the game and got to Shortcut Properties. Under Target, add -enabledeveloperconsole at the end so it looks like this:
C:\\Games\\Dragon Age\\bin_ship\\daorigins.exe -enabledeveloperconsole
Now, open the keybindings.ini file found in the game folder (My Documents\\BioWare\\Dragon Age\\Settings\\).
Then you'll be able to press ~ (or the key above Tab) for the console. Note that you won't see the console but there will be a line of symbols in the upper part of the screen as you type. You might want to press backspace a few times before you start typing just in case. Enter the following codes for the desired effect:
runscript addxp X - Adds XP in the amount of X
runscript zz_money X - Adds copper in the amount of X (1000 = 1 Gold Piece)
runscript pc_immortal - Infinite health (will not drop below 0)
runscript zz_addparty NPCname - Add party member by name
runscript ai off - Turns off AI
runscript selectparty - Party selection screen
runscript chargen - Origin screen
runscript pc_immortal - Player can't be killed
runscript killallhostiles - Kill all enemies
runscript zz_addapproval X Y - Add approval to a character
runscript addtalent X - Add talent or spell, where X represents a specific talent or spell (1-?). Note: Some digits may be unusable talents/spells
Character Codes (for use with certain cheats, enter the number below for the desired character)
1 - Alistair
3 - Morrigan

But what is throwing me is what I need to do specifically with the KeyBindings.ini?

Are you just supposed to reference this or what do you need to alter or change on this?

You haven't been swindled Aidamei. Bioware has from the very beginning promised a challenging, complex and huge role-playing game, and they have delivered. I find it hard too, but it's very rewarding. The encounters are very fun, especially the later; you are forced to use tactics, even on easy. Hence the usual tactic of enough gear and clever character choices is only half of what's required to complete this game.

I think you should refund the game. Wait for Mass Effect 2. That's what you're looking for. This was made for those of us, who love challenges.

You do know that others can see your characters here on the Social site right? And it hasnt been updated for awhile, so she was probably just assuming that was your gear.

Besides that I agree with others here, that this game is not for you. I dont know what you expect from an RPG but if you are not willing to put some thought in to battle tactics then DA:O is defiantly not for you.
