(Fail. Pressed enter accidentally and actually posted a blank message)
...I don't know if I have right to complain now that I accomplished to send a blank message but I get my ass delivered by Matriarch.

It's the first mission I got as a spectre. Is it normal to be beaten by her? Is it a hard mission? Or do I just fail at combat, because I think I do.

Feels clueless in battles. I'm a BG, IwD and DA player... and I can't control every action of my companions! So awkward. Anyway. I'm an infiltrator and have uhm... the biotic human guy aand... *tries to remember* the uhm, what's it called... the alien guy who investigates Saren, the C-sec? guy. (I fail more and more...)

Anyway, I manage to kill the groups that come wave by wave but after talking with her, I kept getting destroyed. Even the waves took me 5-6 tries. Then again, 2-3 tries were completely random fighting. Anyway, is it really a hard mission or am I doing something horribly wrong?

While you are paused, you can move the camera about so you can better micromanage your squad (aiming their powers or sending them to the right location).

I'm guessing that after you talk to her, you're getting stuck to the floor and the commandos come up and shoot you while you are helpless.

Run away from her when she's done talking, and take cover where she can't get you so you can deal with those commandos first.

I have no idea how you have developed Kaiden and Garrus, but Lift, Overload, and Dampening are all good to use on Benezia... or the commandos for that matter. Lift may not work if it's not leveled up enough though.

I haven't really touched them, thinking the game would know better than me:P

One of my problems is my team mates do not take cover... I go to one of the "corners" and there are stuff like containers... and they just stand in the middle, even if i re-order them to move there.

Another problem is commandos or whomever running melee. It just gets hectic :(

And yes, being lifted or stunned by matriarch doesn't help a bit..

The autolevel does not do a very good job.

Noveria can be a pain if you do it as your first main quest planet. Many people do it last for this very reason.

When dealing with Benezia's minions, position yourself away from Benezia's line-of-sight (she will stay stationary). Use the entire spectrum of your squadmates powers: overload works well against shields, sabotage against the pesky rocket-troopers/snipers, biotics tend to be good CC powers.

You should have Liara on your squad, it's probably better to do a few missions before you tackle Noveria/Benezia - get your team-mates to throw lots of offensive biotics at her while you shoot her with something big.

The squad will take cover if you use the move commands while paused to position them up against a barrier of some sort. Left on their own, they will jump around and shout, "Look at me, I'm a target!".

And if things get hectic (like when those commandos run right up to you and dance about), you can always pause to line up a shot or power. Make sure you focus your efforts on one commando at a time though. Or they will just run away and regen their rather impressive shields. As soon as those shields are down, try to incapacitate them. With either a push/lift, or a shotgun blast to knock them down (if they are close enough). Then you can finish them off while they can't run.

Yeah, this mission can be a bit brutal. As soon as Benezia shuts up run around to the opposite side of the rachni queen. then you can just deal with her mooks without having to worry about her considerable firepower. She uses up her biotic power to energize the Geth so you can actually beat her just by killing her minions. an infiltrator is a fine class to beat that battle with. Use overload and sniping to take out the Geth.

Well since you've actually made it to Benezia, use some form of crowd control, such throw, or lift. If you have any points in it hit her with damping.

For the earlier parts of the fight, the first thing to do after the conversation is to turn right and move to the other low platform. This will get you out of her line of sight and tends to break up her summons into smaller, more easily managable groups, since the asari tend to charge, while the geth bunker up. Then you can target them at your own pace, and retreat to recover.
