That is only true for developers that release the full version of the game. With ME 2 you only have half the game on release. No wonder the OP is getting impatient, he wants to pay more money for DLC that will provide us with the other half of the game, which should of been included at launch.

Too true!

Perhaps, but there's supposed to be "significant" DLC this week, so maybe we should wait until the week is over to go back to complaining.

Of course, if it doesn't come when it's suppose to then let's go back it, of course - but at least personally, for now, I'm giving BW then benefit of the doubt and watching these boards all day/week.

I given them some credit for getting out the patch. That takes way more effort than getting around to finishing up and releasing a pre-planned DLC. So kudos to BW for that. I'm just not happy with their idea of stringing out DLC over months when it was used as part of the initial sales pitch for the actual game.

just play your NG+ or don't, but don't make threads trying to get Bioware to accommodate your personal schedule. good christ.

Agree completely and i must say the amount of people that really believes Bioware is giving them something for free is really dumb and disturbing, all the so called free DLC should be in the game release already, most companies do this now because of release date pressure from publishers and so release that content as free DLC, on the other hand paid DLC is developed after game release because its developed after the game is released.

fair enough, but given that it should be rectified very, very shortly, Bioware is still on my "Nice" list right now.

I agree, but the wait ... she is mind numbing. Given how close we should be, at least some comment would be nice, even something such as "expect to hear more tomorrow morning", or something else that wouldn't really commit to a specific release hour or anything of the like.

You know, just throw a bone to the very, very hungry dogs.

While I agree out of principle, oh the money I'd throw at them just to get the announcement today ......

I have every confidence that it will be. The people who create their content are really just too skilled to be described.

However, the people in charge of what to tell us and when about this stuff seem to have lost sympathy with the fanbase. You have to have grown at least a tiny seed of aparth to the fans  to keep us in the dark STILL, no?

You know how much fan loyalty they could engender by giving us some confirmation/info/etc right now?

Well, great art is worth being jerked around for I guess, but I really wish they wouldn't.

lol. Hey, if they actually set up a paypal account to throw money at for information or a sooner release date, I would. Without hesitation.

That being said, I don't think that's the way they do business.

As great as seeing Kasumi would be, they get me the next DLC in hand as soon as possible, they can take themselves a long paid vacation for a job well done as far as I'm concerned.

Alot of us won't still be playing to actually UTILIZE any DLC after this one anyways with the exception of an expansion. However, this DLC is on the EDGE of ACTUALLY BEING USABLE for those of us who don't replay the game a bunch of times.

That is, this DLC is exciting and useful IF IT HITS VERY SOON. For alot of us, if it's late, it may well enough not have been made at all.

I'm sure BW knows that the longer it takes for DLC to hit, the less interest there is in it. In fact, just holding back the announcement will make some people not get to use the content already, as they'll lose interest even sooner.

This isn't an MMO we're talking about, time until release is a VITAL factor.

Yeah, this is pretty much my last week that I'd actually get to use the DLC.

They              they know alot of us are in that boat though, right? They have to know it won't be of any use to alot of us farther in time.

If it's going to be a pinnacle station or return to ostagar "not on time", then I can't blame them as long as they tell me. But not giving the announcement just makes things worse, because whether they give the official announcement or not, this week is the expected release.

A delay is fine, immensely regretable but fine. Jerking us around is not.

Try the peanut butter and jelly waffle sandwich. Very good.

As far as all this "half a game" bs is concerned... well I have yet to start a mission that told me I could not go on it because I did not have the hammerhead or kasumi. Start to finish no problems at all.  Of course I got my fill of this with DAO and the same BS being spewed when it came out.

P.S. I can agree at one time butter on a waffle was funky but that was before the invention of spray butter. Now you can get a nice even light coating and it adds a nice undercurrent of flavor for what ever your favorite toppings are.

Ah yes, the "only a partial game argument".

Just as a philosophical question ... what constitutes a "full game"? What are you counting by - Gigabytes? Length of play? Quality? Closure upon ending?

Ignoring whether or not DLC come out after release (and hopefully shortly after), what distinguishes a "full game" from a "partial game"?

That is a definition that will change from person to person I think. For me I got the full story and I think I just said it but no where did I try to land on a planet or start a mission and get a "Oh sorry come back when the hammerhead or kasumi is released" which one of them (the hammerhead) has always been billed as coming in a DLC after the game and Kasumi as far as I know has not officially been talked about. I could be wrong about kasumi.
Just my two cents.

Interestingly enough, while I agree with you that ME2 is a "full game", as much as that even means anything, it bears mentioning that your reasoning of why it's a "full game" involves what it DOESN'T have.

Meaning, if we took this "Full Game" of yours, and ADDED certain things to it, it would suddenly become "NOT a full game".

What surprises me is how people can call content that could EASILY have been included in the retail release "downloadable content." First day DLC is ****ing retarded.

I like it a heck of a lot better than 40th day DLC.

And given how early they make master copies of the game ... how could it be easily included it they only finish it a week before launch?

Well I mentioned the things it did not have as a example because well they will be some of the examples people use to say it was not a full game. Hell I have allready seen some claim that because the Hammerhead is not out so we do not have the full game which is IMHO BS. On that note I would of loved to have the Hammerhead incorporated into the game and missions like the Mako was. Not the bland mountain climbing stuff but when it was an actuall part of the mission.

Meaning, if we took this "Full Game" of yours, and ADDED certain things to it, it would suddenly become "NOT a full game".

I do not follow. It is late for me but elaborate please. I might end up in bed before you do but I'll bookmark this to read it later.

There is something called a "content lock" or something along those lines. That means there is no more being added to the game. It is time to test what is there and press the disks. Do you think they are working on new stuff right up to the night before and santa drops all the boxes in the stores and in peoples mailboxes?
Oh and free with a new game is nice no matter how you cut it.

What if the game shipped exactly as it did, except there's 3 extra systems, with one more N7 mission in each, and on one of the planets in one of those systems, when you tried to land there you got a message that said "You cannot land here because you do not have the Hammerhead Vehicle"?

Wouldn't that be only adding to the game, not taking anything away?
