Ok so I beat the game but I didn't bother recruiting Thane or Samara. I had everyone survive (Guess you don't need those two to survive the suicide mission with no deaths). Anyway, I thought I'd try to recruit them after the endgame and the annoying thing is that the dialog doesn't reflect that you already destroyed the base.
