I have read that the Player character(imported or new) will be Level 20-ish in the Awakening. If that's the case then please modify the UI to expand the quickbar!

I think most players will find that once they pass Level 20 the quickbar just doesn't have enough slots for accomodating all their spells/talents alonside the essential potions and balms. On top of that the quickbar length is determined by monitor size and resolution which means players with small or non-HD monitors get shafted(for example I get only 25 slots at max resolution).

So PLEASE, Bioware, either add a second row to the quickbar(horizontally above the current one or vertically along the right side of the screen) or add a second quickbar with a toggle button. With all the new skills/talents being introduced this is a big necessity.

Seconded. My mage has already filled all 40 of her slots even with the highest resolution. And that's mostly with spells, not even items! 10+ more spells in Awakening and she's just not going to have enough room. The option to expand the quickbar vertically to include another row or two would be perfect.

If you aren't averse to mods, there's one that gives you a new quickbar for each weapon slot. I dunno if it will be compatible with awakening tho - hope so.

Sadly that mod has a 3 second delay for the second quickbar to appear, which can be annoying in combat, especially if you pause a lot. I'm surprised nobody seems to have raised this issue yet.

I have the Radial Menu ... so does that have the same amount as the quickbar?

That mod is excellent for a character that wants to, say, hybridize between ranged and melee talents and wants their quickbar to switch based on the weapon they have equipped. However, for a mage who only uses a single staff, tying a quickbar switch to a weapon switch is impractical. Having an extra row on the quickbar would be a much simpler solution.

<sigh> Looks like this thread will be ignored by Bioware. Only one day and it's already been pushed to Page 3 by new posts and threads.

I never had a problem w/ the quickbar. What spells I couldn't fit I simply placed into tactics.

However... with so many new spells on the way I have a feeling it's gonna become a problem.

Since most players posting on these forums seem to have had the good fortune of owning hi-res monitors it looks like Bioware won't be very interested in fixing this problem. For those who aren't so fortunate about it I recommend this excellent mod at DA nexus. Unlike the more popular ones it swaps the quickbar instantaneously with your weapon slots and also auto-transfers equipped weapons into the other slot it blank. The only problem is that it doesn't work when paused. Make sure to endorse it if you liked it.

If i knew that would be the case, i would have not bought the "warden's keep" dlc. 2 more active abilities? and where am i going to put those? MULTIPLE bars PLEASE, just like in NWN. I use tactics for NPC's not for PC (why would i, if i control it 99,9% of game time). oh, and i play Arcane Warrior/Blood Mage, which gets TONS of spells/active abilities. Should have played warrior....

This is so frustrating...

You think you PC people have it bad? PS3 gets 12 slots and you only have 6 using your best weapon. If you want to use the other six you have to swap weapons. I was playing arcane warrior/ blood mage too so all that i could do was configure my blood magic + inferno and cone of cold to use the Final Reason staff and my arcane warrior + arcane bolt + blizzard to use Spellweaver.

Not a problem on 360, I cant understand how anyone uses more then 3 main attacks anyways. So much is added from sustained abilities to supplement.

Last Darkness, you suggest that i should use things like paralysis or crushing prison/force field as my "main" attacks? Or you suggest that i should not use them at all? I can throw away my sword and armor and go naked too, if that makes u happy...

saddly, i can only run the game at lowest resolution and having less quickbar slots.........

Im suprised that bioware would overlooked something like that, with tons of spell/skills, even my warrior is running out of slot before awakening, and Morrigan was just full, some spell have to be removed from the quickbar and none of the items can fit into it.

hope they can fix this.....gives us one more quickbar....plz

Obviously y'all haven't discovered this, but the 1.03 patch did expand the quickbar. Make sure it's unlocket, then left-click on the right end of the quick bar. Holding your left mouse button down, move your mouse to the right, and the quickbar will expand. You get at least double the number of original slots. I found this out completely by accident.

EDIT:  Nevermind, I had a brain glitch when I wrote the original post.  My bad.

I need an entire row as well. I can't even imagine how crazy that would drive me on the crappy console version.

Maybe we could get a button that scrolls the quickbar across? It isn't as good as having a new quickbar but it's something.

I really thought that there would be option for second row as a default. My lvl 23 has run out of space long ago and i would like to keep 1 mana and healt potion there. It brakes the combat flow when you need to go find the stuff from the menus even if i pause the game alot.

Some bumping from here too!

Ran out of space for my 24lvl mage(PC), this with just the spells and i do use all of those that are in the quickbar. Like tossut i would like to still have 2 free spaces for mana and healt potion and i'm not even near the end of the game.

Yea, major oversight here. If I recall in Baldur's Gate the spells would scroll on the bottom so you had tons of slots for all the spells. In this game even if you extend it out there aren't enough spots for the entire game.

How hard could it be to patch in a second row anyway, should be included in the next patch.
