Inferno Grenade Super Good?

 I have never actually taken this as my bonus skill but I often think about it. I love the skill! I find myself constantly bringing Zeead with me because of how strong it is. It does damage to all defense types, it staggers, ignites and burns. Also it expodes into more explosions and does the same to people in the area. Sometimes I see this thing do truly outragous damage.

I just started a new game as a biotic and I am too early to really put points into it, but I will surely try with that character. Does anyone have experience with this? It's never talked about when discussing bonus talents. It's always Dominate, Reave and Warp/AP ammo. But I think this is really strong.

Do whatever you want. I'm almost finished with a hardcore vanguard playthrough, and I retrained my skills at the earliest possible moment to take the mandatory one point out of my bonus skill. I haven't had any trouble at all playing without a bonus skill. My opinion: ignore the threads that claim "This skill iz teh awesom! If u dont use it, u suck!"

Seriously, do whatever works best for you. Reave isn't the only bonus skill in town. Anyway, Inferno grenade, I found, is great early on. Especially for classes without much crowd control, like the Soldier. It's got a great AoE and does decent damage. Later on, it doesn't perform as great because there aren't any upgrades that apply to it (it's considered a "combat" power, so tech and biotic upgrades don't work on it). It's still fun as hell though and made the soldier less boring for me.

Inferno Grenade doesn't quite work as awesome for me as it did for Zaeed. Unlike him, I apparently have a limit on how far I can throw the thing. This doesn't work so well as an infiltrator, as I don't like it when someone gets that close. Probably the only time I was using it like mad was on the Collector ship. And then it's the greatest skill ever!

Inferno grenade is mediocre and terrible on Shepard as a bonus talent. It's also not that effective against armor compared to Mordin's incinerate. The only advantage really is it provides some minor CC, though again, Mordin's incinerate is superior.

The good thing about Inferno Grenade is that it works on people in cover. It is really awesome once you get used to using it, especially as an adept (as you can strip armor/shields before you even see the enemy, and in an AoE.)

Well you can't take Mordin's incinerate as a bonus skill though. It has a limited range though? Like i said I never actually tried it. I just really think it's strong on Zeead.

What I meant was that for dealing with armor, inferno grenade is a poor alternative compared to Mordin's incinerate.  As Shepard, most classes have some way to deal with armor so the grenade is pointless.  Also consider that as a bonus talent for Shepard you have to actually arc the grenade like you're throwing it; a very difficult task.

Hmm actually sounds kinda fun. Well I will try it once I am higher level and have points to waste on a bonus talent. I am playing an adept I guess I have warp. But the grenade has SUCH good AOE...



Maybe i'll just bring Zaeed with me all the time. I love him for group disrupter ammo anyway.
