Meer > Hale. Hale sounds ridiculously hamfisted and forceful most of the time, bordering on chewing the proverbial stage and the ridiculous obsession with her is born out of the superiority complex the (laughable) minority of rabid FemShep devotees exhibit.

I.E 'we love FemShep and since we're in the minority obviously Hale is superior to Meer.' It's a means of compensating for the lack of numbers with ridiculous assertions about voice acting ability.

The fact that no one here is deriding Meer other than external factors affecting his performance while you are borderline flaming Hale shows your lack of conviction and your sexism.
Obvious troll is obvious. Go back to your bridge.

People on this board are ignorant idiots who have no idea what a troll actually means, and they simply take it to be the umbrella insult they apply to anyone who disagrees with their own (usually) asinine position.

I am not sexist, just because I believe a woman gives an inferior performance does not mean I believe that performance is inferior because she is a woman. Idiot. Hale's performance is inferior for the reasons I stated, she over acts constantly, her lines are far too forceful and in a lot of areas nauseatingly flirtatious. She is ham fisted, scene chewingly awful.

Not because she is a woman. Because she sucks. Get over your wounded pride and realise that such fervent ardour is nothing more than a pathetic comfort blanket used a substitute for actual majority consensus.

I also feel this needs to be restated.

Both Hale and Meer are good.

Though I have the feeling that Hale already got some reputation ahead for her performance as Bastila.

Seems like the thread got derailed. Speaking only for myself, I find that changing character appearance and portrait can make the voice acting (be it male or female) more convincing.

If the main character's voices conveyed any more emotion, those emotions would disagree with what I felt, and I would feel disconnected from the game.

Barely emotional delivery is what's best for Shepard, simply because it lets most of us fill in the emotion ourselves.

They modeled on MaleShep because they were lazy? Wouldn't the correct saying be "modeled on MaleShep DESPITE being lazy"? A true example of laziness would be what they did with FemShep, who I repeat DOES NOT HAVE A FACE. If they were "lazy" on John Shepard then Jane Shepard must be completely meaningless since they didn't bother. Harkin hitting on you and odd, unfulfilling romance options (compared to MaleShep) are what Jane gets. Sorry. Sux2bu.

Who cares what default face FemShep has? I make my own.
I'm glad that most ManShep players make their own face too, and don't use Sheploo, who is born out of laziness.
They wanted a mascot, looked in some fashion magazine and picked that pickled prune of a face. So what? How does that make ManShep more important? Sorry, it doesn't.
But then you're obviously insecure about his importance, so you hate instead.

All custom characters suck.

End of line.

Brought back a semi-dead topic just to say that?

I actually missed that, but the fact you needed to repeat it shows you are in fact a troll. You have no opinion, you just want to say Hale is awful to get a rise out of people and cry when we ignore you.
Amusing really.

I really think some people are deeply underestimating the emotional effects of suffocating in space. I for one would not consider that a memory to easily get over.

no kidding, that would suck

On the "suffering" part when Shepard died. I'm pretty sure Shepard is in a world of hurt after being hurled against a bulkhead only to then be caught in an explosion before "passing out". Notice many people who "die" on operating tables or such for a short time usually claim to have had some kind of religious experience or strong emotional reaction.

Secondly, Shepard is well aware their love interest might be dead, their ship is destroyed and a general overwhelming feeling of loss and anger. Waking up and being told you were dead for two years, how do you come to grips with that and even trust your own memories and thought processes? Nobody has EVER remade a brain which has maintained all of its cognitive thoughts after so many days of simply not working.

Your not even sure if your a mere clone or advanced robot let alone your now something "more" than simply organic or machine.

Your right, that would not affect anyone at all. Nor would the past experience just before dieing of killing a world ending entity and having the council simply ignore the danger you just fought.

Love how this became a VA debate when Im almost certain it was intended to point out mark's various roles in the game.

That being said, I noticed on one of the side planets theres a merc on the scanner which in NO WAY sounds any different from mark's shepard lol I was like "Oh man did i just find sheps evil clone here???, wouldnt that be something! haha

And Im TOTALLY not sure on this but was i the only one who thought Blasto sounded quite familiar?!

just asking...

I'm really bad at recognizing voices. Do you have any examples? I'm curious. I mean, he doesn't sound like Shepard at all in Dragon Age.

he is, for instance, the turian at the food store on the citadel
