when i try to run Mass Effect  i ger this error message:Failed to find default engine .ini file to retrieve My Documents subdirectory to use". I've been trying to fix this for 2 days now buth with no results. Please help!!! I'll probably just delete the game if i dont fix it in this week.

Sounds like the issue the Impulse version had at first. They literally forgot to include a necessary config file.



Where'd you get the game from? I thought they'd fixed this...

i recieved it for my birthday...dont know cause i didnt buy it

Ah, retail/disc then. Very strange. Have you tried un-installing & re-installing yet?



If you want to try diagnosing it exactly first, try looking in mass effect\\BioGame\\Config under wherever you installed it. (Probably something like C:\\Program Files\\Electronic Arts\\Mass Effect by default.) Are there any files there? I have 9 .inis on my working installation.



If you do have 9 files there, what about My Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect\\Config ?

yeah i have reinstalled it like 2 times but no luck so far

in my documents i replaced some files to fix but its the same problem. And when i try to run mass effect config it crashes..
