Just occurred to me. If you import a save game in which you never actually recruit Garrus in ME1 (remember, he's optional), how does he react to Shepard when you meet him on Omega?
Just curious - I've never actually done a no Garrus run in ME1.

As far as I have read, he will react "normal" to you, if you and Garrus were Buddies for the whole time.
Bioware must have forgotten that you can do such thing.
I also read that the dialog with Wrex on Illos can be pretty boring and lacking the option to kill him, for if you leave Garrus on the Citadel, youre squad will only consist of Kaiden, Williams, Tali and him (You can skip Liara's mission as far as I know...). And because Ashley and Kaiden won't be selectable for the upcoming mission, Wrex mustn't die or else your squad would be broken.

Huh. Strange.
Also, was Liara optional? I know you can leave her until last (and you should do it once because it's funny), but I thought that Therum was a main story world that needs to be done to open the end game.

I don't think you can complete the game without Liara.
As for Garrus...er, maybe in those 6 months after ME1 and before you died, you went back to the Citadel and met him or something.

Liara isn't optiona and the garrus bit is just a plot hole I guess. Doubt many skipped him though so it was probably not something they counted on.

Obviously BioWare isn't perfect and there are plot holes now and then but they are so small compared to a very polished game, you can hardly call outrage.
Actually, Garrus' recognition of Shepard can't be that big of a plothole because in ME1 you at least meet him twice. First on the council tower (where he even comradely greets you with "Hi Shepard" and there's a chance he will remember you for all this years) and the second time, if you could avoid him on the medical bay, he will run to you before you go to the elevator down the normandy. I think it is there, where you can leave Garrus behind. He will then wait in C-Sec until you have changed your mind...
However, you have to either bring Wrex or Garrus along. Tali and them two humies join you no matter how big the **** you are.
Humm... but on the other hand Garrus' reference of things being the same as in the "old times" is kind of strange and that's mabye the only thing which makes out this little plothole.
I have researched this matter through google because of my newest ME1 playthrough, where I wanted to explore new possibilities and decided to not recruit Wrex. I searched and found some gamespot.com threads about this matter and there is where I got my informatin.
However to be entirely sure, you have to play for yourself I suppose.
edit:
Here, I found my reference to Wrex not dying on Virmire (sorry I wrote Illos earlier): http://meforums.biow...13332&forum=104
meh, the internet is evil and too big. I can't find the particular thread anymore I found during my searches... but just take this thread for an example reference: http://www.gamespot....0520&pid=944907
