It this DLC existed, it'd be great to play through while waiting for and as a link to ME3.
Missions involving: (in order by "how the thought came to me", not by priority. And of course, tailored to be broad enough to cover the decisions made in ME2)

A- Mordin curing Thane -The salarian developed and deployed the krogan Genophage, his genius intellect can certainly cure the drell Kepral's Syndrome. AND, perhaps we discover a Sub-Plot -The hanar were only pretending to find a cure because they needed the drells to continue their "services"???

B-Working with Legion to obtain upgrades and weapons information to use in the upcoming final battle. As the heretic geth are reabsorbed into the collective, Legion can share new Reaper information they have processed. This information can be researched for the Normandy and crew, or perhaps this can get Shepherd back into the good graces of TIM/Cerberus???? Perhaps a Sub-Plot discovered - The existence of a new race lone survivor of  the Reapers attack centuries before with valuable information we need? Hiding somewhere remote and deep undercover? We locating this survivor by finding clues to it's whereabouts (Promethean or even before their time). We can end the mission with either just the valuable information, or the survivor, or both.

C-Completing Zaeed's misison by finding and killing his traitorous former partner (that got away on his loyalty mission). AND, opening up the same dialogue application as with other team members. (now, you just click on him, and he says prescripted stuff) Possible Sub-Plot - his partner was working on upgrades to the pistols that anyone could use, and smuggling them, so we break that ring, track down the dealers and upgrade our next to useless ones.

D-Traveling to earth and learning more about the crew (completing loyalty missions for them, in essence), and finding out more about Shepherd's 'roots". Perhaps a Sub-plot about Cerberus or Joker's past?  That TIM is related to Shepherd, and that her parents were on a Cerberus mission for TIM when the colony was attacked???

E-Finding closure.  Ending previous relationships with ME1 team members, or checking in with ME1 team members in case they'll be in ME3. ("Hey, I'm back from the dead, how the hell are you").   This would include dealing with Alenko -confronting him about his lack of support, rubbing hero status in his face (renegade, eh), or taking him back as crew and/or romantic interest (paragon), or even just the "I'm moving on dude, you can play or stay". Possible Sub-Plot - Former team members may require Shepherd's help (as Liara did)

Thoughts?????

Stop being a wimp and leave the silly refinery workers to die.

Also, pistols are great.

Yeah you cant add in a DLC that lets you go kill a character than 1/2 the players already killed. Its a gyp to all the renegade players.

Whether I left the "silly refinery workers" to die or not, Zaeed's crooked partner took off in a gunship. So, gotta find him again, and kill those other idiots working for him on whatever planet he escaped to.........

I believe you picked the wrong dialog options, sir.  Vido didn't quite make it to the gunship on my Renegade character, but I won't spoil it.  Whether or not you turn off the valves doesn't matter.  In the conversation with the Refinery worker right after you meet Vido the first time, make sure you pick the renegade dialog option and tell Zaeed that stopping Vido is the most important goal.

Other than the Illusive man-shepard family ties...

All of these are great and I would love them. A mission for joker would be great since he seems to be a central character in the story.

My ultimate DLC would be a new squadmate

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Name: Kaynik

Race: Drell

Gender: Male

Primary Weapon: Sniper Rifle

Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle

1st Power: Warp Ammo

2nd Power: Throw

3rd Power: Concussive Shot

Loyalty Power: Fortification

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Backstory: Kaynik was exiled from the Hanar homeworld of Kahje for assassinating a Krogan Drug boss named Rock that was smuggling "Red Sand" into The Citadel. He was exiled because when put on trial a crooked Hanar politician said Kaynik was the real "Red Sand" dealer and was framing Rock. Kaynik is now a revengeful Drell with a gun, thats NOT someone you want to be on the wrong side of!

Dossier: You are sent to Tuchanka, the Krogan home world, you see a pack of Blood Pack Mercs. talking to Urdnot Wrex. You then interupt them, Wrex and the mercs. will say they needs you help as an assassin by the name of Kaynik has been hierd, by a rival clan leader and is looking to kill him. You must then track down Kaynik and stop him, but that means you must fight him, to get Kaynik in your squad you must knock him out then take him back to the Normandy and talk to him.

Loyalty Mission: You must help Kaynik with some unfinished buisness. You must go to the Hanar homeworld Kahje and take down the crooked politician that framed Kaynik and got him exiled years ago. This will result in his loyalty and him being removed from exile. To do so you must sneek Kaynik on Kahje and break into the politicians home and....End Kaynik's problems...

I'd like to see a DLC that acts as a mini "suicide mission". It can be played before or after the final mission. You use your entire squad like in the suicide mission, but it is shorter and nobody can die (but some might get hurt).

And ideal DLC would be an expansion that raises the level cap by 5 or something, and gives you a new set of systems to explore with a unified plot that hints at events in ME 3.

My preferred DLC is:

1) Buying a ticket and attending: "Hamlet, by the voice of Elcor". The 14 hour experience. Would also open up more Citadel areas, like the mentioned-destroyed arts stage.

2) Buying a ticket and attending "Blasto, the first Hanar Spectre". Take your LI with you. Maybe Garrus too. Anyone who appreciates that a Spectre needs to get their...tentacles dirty, once in awhile.

Why add more content where I shoot things? Let Shep take a week off.

That'd be a good name for the DLC

"Shep's day off."

I'd like a DLC that involved taking out the Shadow Broker or an element of his operation.  Something that would teach the ****** a lesson for trying to sell my body and placing one of my friends in danger.

Good ideas by the OP. I'd also like to see something involving Balak and his terrorist cell from BDTS. Even if you killed him they could still do it with another Batarian in charge but have references to what you did on the asteroid, references to Kate Bowman and her father...etc.

Interesting notion about a mission re:"Shep's day off" in DLC.I agree, I'd like to see that built in. After all, I'll be killed off soon, so let me have some fun!! So, Shep's on a planet with whichever love interest, and after a few days or hours, discovers; Shadow Broker intel or a lead on Balak's terrorist cell, or the cure for the drell. Gotta put down my drink and pick up my gun.......possibilities are endless. I mean, it's Shep, so is there really a day off???

1. What I'd primarily like would be small, atmospheric tweaks done by some DLCs, like new newscast messages (like, for example, the ones you get transmitted via the Cerberus Network) - some of them foreshadowing new missions maybe? - and a wider range of reactions of the NPCs and the places you visit, especially after you've done the main storyline.

For one, the colony attacks do stop, and more and more people, starting with Omega, will most likely be able to put two and two together and figure out who did it (hint: the guy with the prototype warship and the 'Dirty Dozen'-like crew of specialists). Put that in the game, have the bystanders react on you (in AWE if you did it as a paragorn, in FEAR if you went renegade).

Also, improve the reactions of the environment especially if you have Legion in your squad! Add some cutscenes, add some drama if you want, but it's obvious for all the world to see LEGION IS GETH! If I take him to the Citadel I can very well expect there to be major complications and constant reactions from the populace. The way it is now, Anderson does not even look at him and just gives one line on the armed to the teeth AI platform. There should at least have been a major problem at the customs' location instead of everybody dismissing the armed to the teeth AI platform as Shephard's personal notebook.

And I second the call for larger explorable sections on Omega, Illium and the Citadel.

2. Secondly, receive updates on the work on the Collector base if you decided to keep it, maybe even make a small mission where Cerberus tasks you with shipping some critical supplies and a dozen or so specialists there so you can see what is happening. Also: Show that Cerberus is salvaging the literally hundreds of ancient wrecks there; the data and technology to be found there is priceless and will add even more depth to the universe (eg. give some more info on all those space-faring races we read about when we explore and scan planets that went extinct).

And I want some good reasons added why after I opted for keeping the base basically every of my team members reacted as if I had just offered the Virgin mary to Lucifer on a silver plate. Seriously, either you make it a conscious choice that makes sense like the end discussion in ME1 or you at least make everybody give me some good reasons for their statements that go beyond 'I don't trust the IM'. /images/forum/emoticons/wondering.png I mean, d'uh! The ambiguity is the whole point of the character.

3. Downloadable missions should either be massive, stand-alone narratives that truly do span hours of game play OR should tie in with already existing narratives (Liara and the Shadow Broker, Mr. Thrax, the information-smuggling Salarians on Omega...). It doesn't even have to do something with the main storyline about the Reapers, really. The SR2 going after a pirate lord in the Terminus systems (new solar systems, please) because the Alliance doesn't have to guts for it would be fine. Hell, throw in a space battle or animated boarding sequence, and it would be great!

I am more than willing to pay for new content as long as that content warrants payment! Paying 5$ for the Asteroid mission in ME1 was okay, even though I had hoped for a bit more, but I won't open my purse for DLCs that amount to no more than the side-missions you did in ME 2 when you found an anomaly while scanning a planet.

Totally agree, there are so many possibilities that DLC missions could do: answer questions, tie up loose ends, continue progression, link previous content to future content, explore more worlds, while still letting Shep and the team "shoot up the universe together", and I'd pay for DLC with "meat to it"...

I'd like to second that 'Shep's Day Off' idea.

'cept I'd call it "Shore Leave", using the classic Trek-motif of having Doctor Chakwas relieving Shep of command and ordering him to go on shore leave. Pretty much rip the TNG ep "Captain's Holiday" wholesale.

Shep's relaxing awkwardly on a beach while fending off advances from Asari strippers when he gets embroiled in some inconsequential nonsense that involves shooting people in the face or the defenestration of goons. Your squadmates are two brand new folk, one male, one female (bad boy / femme fatale), who you can seduce/ be seduced by. Could potentially be fairly large, but without major plot consequences for ME3 beyond an email or two. And it wouldn't matter who lived and who died...

Like the Dr. Chakwas "having the helm" theory making Shep take Shore leave. Hell, I'd even bring her back some Serrice Ice Brandy. Or even better, another undercover op while pursuing Collector intel from the geth heretics or tracking down the Shadow Broker. A little romance with the thrill of "soon we will have to kill"..................

I don't think a mission for Mordin to cure Thane would be possible unless Shepard is willing to work as Mordin's lab assistant for several years, during which time the Reapers will attack the Milky way and Mordin will die of old age.

SVRG - wtf are you talking about?? Mordin just needs samples and DNA. It didn't take him "several" years to develop Collector research or krogan genophage, nor was Shep his ass't. Mordin has EDI now, and Shep just needs to get him the "ingredients" for the genetic formula. AND, if the hanar plot is tied into the mission, Nomandy SR2 needs to travel to the "hit by a sunami type storm" home planet of the hanar before or after the drell home world for samples.

We don't actually know how long it took him to modify the genophage, but we can be sure it wasn't a matter of days.  He also had several other brilliant scientists working him, and we can be sure scientific research isn't EDI's strength. The task you're describing is developing a cure to a disease. This can't be done with a DNA test and a simple gathering quest.

I left them to die because it was Zaeed's mission in the first place and he just wanted help on it as part of the deal for him to work with you.

hmm...i think nothing less than a full-fledged expansion is going to satisfy most people. or something like oblivion's "knights of the nine". you know, a small main quest line (10-12hrs) with a few side quest's thrown in; but with
some definent foreshadowing of future events.

just my 2 cents.

edit: i just remembered an idea i saw a few days ago about tracking down those pieces of sovereign anderson tells you were lost or stolen; so that could be good.
