Ok, so for this one you have to fully upgrade a weapon. Each weapon has
7 upgrades. I've got a bunch of my weapons at 6/7. I can't seem to find
that 7th upgrade for any of the weapons. I've checked all the vendors unless there is a tough to find one that I am missing.
I'm afraid I missed something on the ground during one of the missions,
but I am very thorough when exploring so I don't think so.
Anyone
have any ideas? I just picked up the IFF so I don't have much more time
to dilly dally before I save the Universe and all that.

I usually have at least two weapons (usually Assault Rifles and Sniper rifles or Shotguns) fully upgraded before I even go for the IFF, because those are the weapons I use the most, ditto for my teammates of choice. How many side missions did you do? Did you ever go back and re-check a store you had already visited? sometimes a new item is available, I think. Make sure you ask all the team members for valuable upgrade input, aside from their usual contributions, talking to them seems to randomly unlock an upgrade you need to make more upgrades in the stream available... I got that achievement my first playthru with no issues, it was for assault rifles...

I was able to get this achievement on my very first playthrough but don't remember ever having to obtain up to 7 upgrades. I've only had to go up to 5 upgrades for most of the weapons. Assuming you did purchase all of the upgrades from the store and did some hacking/bypassing, you should've gotten a full set of upgrades for one weapon at least.

Achievement is for getting 5/5 in any weapon. This will also unlock 2 side upgrades per weapon.
All together is for example: 5/5 pistols, AP pistols, Pistols accuracy = 7/7
(this might not be an accurate example, you can look up possible upgrades and locations on ME wiki.

I just looked at the Wiki page for the upgrades and I found it really helpful. From what I remember, I may have passed on a handful of upgrades (despite my attempt to explore every inch of the levels). And yes, the achievement should be given if you get 5/5. If you didn't get the achievement, the game might be bugged.

Ok, I will talk to the crew members again and check the stores. I found a different thread that talked about an easy to miss store in the Krogan city so I am going to check that out and see if I miseed that one or not.
Pingo, when you get progress in the achievement the pop-up says x/7 so I think there are 7. Each gun has 5 damage upgrades, but 7 total upgrades and the achievement is to "fully" upgrade a weapon.

It is very easy, just use all the heavy weapons you can and bam, you get it.

Exactly. The achivement says fully upgrade A weapon. Just one.

We're saying the same thing. I never said I thought you had to upgrade ALL the weapons. Just one, and each weapon has 7 upgrades.
So say I didn't pick up the one during the Garrus Loyalty mission. There is no way to go back and get it, right? So it's possible I missed this achievement if I missed an item for each weapon at some point. I don't think that is likely, but possible.

Sure, you could have missed some, but it would be very hard to miss it for all weapon types.
Assault rifles can even go up to 6/6 damage alone.
Look at your research. Maybe you missed one of the unlockable upgrades. You also get two more in IFF mission (sniper and something else).

Several people posting that it is kind of hard to find. I can't remember off the top of my head if I have been to it or not. So that will be the first thing I check next time I play. I did the IFF mission already, so hopefully that is what I am missing here.

I think the 6/6 thing may be random. My heavy weapon ammo is 6/6 in current playthrough, but last playthrough I had assault rifle 6/6. Everything else is 5/5 except for skin weave(4/5) and one other(4/5). I never have been able to fully upgrade the skin weave in any of my playthroughs.
