No offence intended here, but maybe... because unlike a certain Yeoman Kelly Chambers, Miranda isn't bi-sexual or lesbian? Ever thought of that reason? Or do you consider all party members/NPCs as just objects rather than characters whom might have a preference if we were to 'flesh' them out so to speak?

I hate to break it to you but Miranda isn't a real person, her preferences are whatever the writers give her.
I don't see why it would be that hard to make her, or hell Jacob or Tali or Garrus or *through teeth* Thane bi-curious at least.
I've always thought we all are, to a certain extent.

But she's still a character in a story like in any other story . She was designed to be heterosexual.
John Rambo ain't homosexual.Just accept it Image IPB

Also no .. I'm not bi-cucious.The sight of 2  bearded men making out gross me out.Not so much about woman though.

Seeing this post makes me think that some people have a serious problem that not everyone thinks like they do. I hate to break it to some of you all but some people are gay/lesbian, some are bisexual, and some are just plain straight. I don't understand why people can't except reality whether your gay, bisexual, or straight. Not everyone thinks the same way you do and arguing and spreading hate will not change that. Our culture claims its tolerant but the reality is we are all a bunch of hypocrites that don't want to except that other people think differently.

Personally I am straight and I have no problem with people being homosexual but I hate listening to people who want to make heterosexual people homosexual or homosexual people heterosexual.  Its pathetic.  Okay I am getting off my soapbox.

I really don't know why Bioware didnt do this. Preassure from the media? Homophobia? Lack of time? I would really like to think it's none of those, since I doubt you guys are homophobic based on your previous games, and I doubt you care about the media since you had gay elf sex in Dragon age, so why? I don't get it.

Yeah there is no real explanation why they didn't.  The best I can gather is that they have a certain image of Shepard and that includes being straight...

not sure why that is necessary but there it is.

I think we can expect future homosexual options in their future games though.  I am also curious to see if they are ever going to be brave enough to have a character who is gay and not bisexual.

I got this scene to work with my FemShep on the PC version as well as with Jack. My goal is to improve upon the process. Right now, you have to gender change before two conversations to get the f/f romances, which kind of sucks (but it works in the end so it's worth it!)

I hate to break it to you, you've just proved my point.

Writer created Miranda as straight sex, if you can't understand that, then I guess you really are stupid. Not every woman in the world is bi-sexual, thus in a piece of fiction not everyone in that world is bi-sexual, deal with it!

As I pointed out, Kelly Chambers IS bi-sexual. This stupid F/F crap has already brought you nothing, so why do you think re-hashing it by showing off an editted version of the game where flags were altered is going to change anything.

You should read my post from earlier. A persons sexuality doesnt define them, and these arent real people.

Bioware could have very easily written a good character, and made them an option for both male and female Shepard's, not nessicarily "bisexual". And as for Kelly Chambers, she was cute, but that was hardly a romance. That was probabaly there as a way for Bioware to keep the F/F romance supporters quiet, but it was not a full romance, not even close.

Making Miranda or Jack or Tali romancable by women wouldnt undermine their character at all.

I really don't know why Bioware didnt do this. Preassure from the media? Homophobia? Lack of time? Its been mentioned on the forums and in interviews. There was no pressure from any group. It was a choice made by the dev team as a whole to not include gay romances. We will never know why other than what Bioware tells us.

Jack would make more sense as a bi-option since she actually does specifically mention having sex with both men and women.

Jack mentions she was in bed with a guy and his girlfriend, but as she also turns down female Shepard pretty clearly stating she isn't into this particular angle i think it's safe to presume she didn't actually have sex there with the guy's gf. Just like two men in one bed with one woman don't automatically mean they're into one another.

Yes, but this is a video game, not a social commentary.

I still don't see why by giving lesbian/gay options would somehow ruin the game or ruin those particular characters.

As someone said before, you dont want to accidentally start a romance with someone you don't want, but Bioware convenietly gives you an option to politely turn someone down, ALL the time, even RIGHT before you have sex.

I inadvertantly started a romance with Jacob as my femshep when I didnt want to, and politely turned him down. It's not that big of a deal.

While it was a hot (femshep has a great ass, who knew?) If the writers intended for a character to be straight then that character should remain straight.

Not everyone is bisexual in the future as some people on this forum likes to think

So they intended male shepard to be straight, but femshep can possibly be bi, or a lesbian? where's the logic in that?

Since it looks like Shepard in that video is wearing modded Miranda's outfit, that's technically Miranda's ass you get to see, twice Image IPB

Why would more varied romance options *for both genders* be crap?

Sorry i miswrote that, what I meant was, ****e has come from the previous posts on this topic, so re-hashing it obviously isn't going to make them come out and say "We will add F/F and M/M romances into the next game.

Besides remind me where there was any in ME? None

So what made you really think there was going to be any in ME2? Just because they had some in Dragon Age? That game made by a different section of Bioware and set in a different time/place/realm/whatever?

More to the point, can you really see them changing it just for the 3rd one? Other than maybe a chance to take things further with Kelly?

They're lying. Or at least, not telling us everything.
They got a lot of flak over the sex scenes in the first game especially the EVIL F/F Liara + Shep coupling, to the point that devs have come here to claim Asari aren't female.. yeah right. Hoist your technicalities elsewhere.
Oh there was also the fact that they were naked (even though you didn't see anything you wouldn't see in a PG-13 film) and now all the sex scenes are fully clothed (oh well you see Miranda's BRA, stop the presses!).

If the media had no influence on this I'll eat my hat. Which will be hard as I have no hat.

lol, but it's not about bisexual/straight/gay, these people arent real. Making a solid character and then having their sexuality change based on the players preference doesnt seem far fetched to me, in fact I can see it being incredibly possible. I know people really really hate this, but I don't.

Not only have I gotten shafted more than once with romances in games being a female gamer, but being a bisexual one even more so. Anything that gives me more options (and in my opinion, in the case of ME2, better options) then I think I can forgvie a little continuity error. The character would still be the same, it's all just pixels anyway.

I would rather not have 6 people hitting on my character simultaneously thank you that would be ridiculous. A love triangle is interesting, a love hexagon is just stupid.

It looks so wrong when femshep picks up Miranda. I hope if they do add a F/F option for Miranda they do a much better job.

That being said I don't care either way I don't play a femshep.

You make yourself sound silly when you say things like this. Liara may not have technically been 'female' but to FemShep she had all the physical attributes of one.
