I seriously hope BW doesnt start giving fan service to the "gay" community. Seriously, (Asari aside and talking about RL anyway.) had nature intended for Humans to be "gay" they would have made it so that we can reproduce Asexually like the Asari. But, seeing as how (aside from adoption or artificial insemination) nature doesnt work that way, it makes homosexuality "wrong" from a nature standpoint.

...You an idiot by chance? Be honest now.

That's why I love having the PC version. I can romance whomever I want with whichever gender I want!

I have the Jack and FemShep love scene if anyone wants to take a look at it. I cut out Meer's VO from the vid so it just goes silent for now. I will dub over some of Hale's VO in the future.

I would rather not have 6 people hitting on my character simultaneously thank you that would be ridiculous. A love triangle is interesting, a love hexagon is just stupid.

So don't talk to them?
I rarely talk to Jacob, as I'm afraid his blandness is contageous.

Then don't romance all six of them?

You make yourself sound silly when you say things like this. Liara may not have technically been 'female' but to FemShep she had all the physical attributes of one.

And to Kaidan.

"Well Commander I didn't think you were into.. um..."

While it was a hot (femshep has a great ass, who knew?) If the writers intended for a character to be straight then that character should remain straight.
Not everyone is bisexual in the future as some people on this forum likes to think

lol, but it's not about bisexual/straight/gay, these people arent real. Making a solid character and then having their sexuality change based on the players preference doesnt seem far fetched to me, in fact I can see it being incredibly possible. I know people really really hate this, but I don't.

Not only have I gotten shafted more than once with romances in games being a female gamer, but being a bisexual one even more so. Anything that gives me more options (and in my opinion, in the case of ME2, better options) then I think I can forgvie a little continuity error. The character would still be the same, it's all just pixels anyway.

Never said they were real. Its biowares game and bioware wants them to be straight.
Its like being straight is weird all of a sudden -.-

You people are clearly too spoiled with biowares previous same sex LI.

I don't usually get involved in these topics, but..rewriting or otherwise modifying a character to alter their sexuality is a mark against their quality. It takes away from the depth of the character and immersion to know such aspects are changeable on a whim. Introducing a character that is gay I don't mind at all, but retconning an existing one to include something that's clearly or even slightly against the rest of their actions annoys me.

"Ah... the lesbians"

I could assumed that Bioware do plan same sex options in ME 2 but backlash from ME 1 Liara's cut scene was a possible reason to cutting off those in final part.
Heck in ME 1 there was actually recorded lesbian voiceovers between FemShep and Ashley but scene itself was blocked (she is still there but not available since there is no way to trigger romance between FemShepard and Ash).
But there is always possibility for same sex romance DLC...

Hmmm... it's irony that there are almost no protests when comes games where blood splatters at the each corner of the monitor and characters cussing worst than old drunken sailor... but even a slight sigh of the naked body rises worst panic than could caused hordes of the reapers suddenly descending at the earth.

I think this song could fit perfecly to this subject

... are you one of those people who think Asari aren't female?

Asari's have one gender you cant have male's or female's... they do look like human females though.

I mean the "getting to know you" option. If you REALLY can't stand people hitting on you that is.

oh boy, ignoring the troll bait, i too want to know how to dress femshep in Miranda's outfit.

or even better would be FemShep in Samara's outfit. Can anyone explain what must be done to achieve this?

what he said^

I've seen a lot of modded outfits going around but this is the first time I've seen femshep in Miranda's clothes. *sigh* another reason I'm going to have to upgrade my PC and get the PC version:pinched:

You can talk to them all you want, just dont flirt, and if you accidentally start a romance, turn them down.

It's like people are afraid of hurting their imaginary crewmates feelings by telling them "no", lol.

Well the one thing they absolutely got wrong in ME2 was not having separate romantic/friend conversation paths. Conversationally speaking you really should have made a very specific choice to go down the Romance path. (regardless of gender) Otherwise you stick on the Friend path.

Dragon Age did a better job in that regard.

Well...usually if they are romanceable and you don't romance them it kills off all further conversation.  This is regretfully why I don't really get to know Jack besides the fact she thinks she is all hard and committed lots of crimes and doesn't trust anybody.  Also happens with Tali but it is more of a 'Garrus is endlessly calibrating his guns' sort of issue there.

I enjoy talking to people who I don't want to sleep with to.

And if female Shepard was attracted to said monogendered species that looks female, that would make her what? lol

Which is what's important in terms of the media.
Also, they're female. They look feminine, they use feminine terms, they have no use for masculine terms in their own society (Aria's dialog on the name "Patriarch"). They're mono-gendered, which means one, which is female.
Arguments against this are technicalities and semantics.

Oh I do...well I try to with Jack the woman just will not take no for an answer.

Anyway as I have said in several posts this thread it just tends to kill further conversation.

Mass Effect really needs to have a friendship path like in Dragon Age if they are going to have alot of romance options.

most likely a lesbian... I was just saying on a technicality that asari's aren't female. I do agree if Shepard was attracted to asari's she would most likely be attracted to human females.

Its been mentioned on the forums and in interviews. There was no pressure from any group. It was a choice made by the dev team as a whole to not include gay romances. We will never know why other than what Bioware tells us.

They're lying. Or at least, not telling us everything.
They got a lot of flak over the sex scenes in the first game especially the EVIL F/F Liara + Shep coupling, to the point that devs have come here to claim Asari aren't female.. yeah right. Hoist your technicalities elsewhere.
Oh there was also the fact that they were naked (even though you didn't see anything you wouldn't see in a PG-13 film) and now all the sex scenes are fully clothed (oh well you see Miranda's BRA, stop the presses!).

If the media had no influence on this I'll eat my hat. Which will be hard as I have no hat.

But they won't tell us if it was something outside that influenced their decision. It could have been nothing. I am just saying its not worth it "demanding" the truth. Nor should they have to. Its their product and their hardwork. We just benefit from it.

You can argue that Asari, while being asexual, are female in terms of gender (different from sex).

When she picks Miranda up the leverage looks wrong. When male shep picks her up her legs are wrapped around his pelvis. When fem shep does it Mirandas legs are wrapped around her torso. Its easy to pick someone up when they are straddling your pelvis because it puts all the weight on your legs. Not so easy if they are straddling your upper chest because all the weight is on your back.

Or maybe I just have a bad back?

I had to grin when I saw that, especially when you consider how thin human females tend to be ME. I guess Miranda's biotics have a casual application too?

We both know that wouldnt work. Femsheps were kinda jumped with the Jacob romance and straight males were practically raped by Zevran in DAO. That kinda thing doesnt bother me but i could see why some people would find it offensive if a crewmate started hitting on them like that
