The "Bad Things that make this game Disappointing" people continue to reel off like some sort of titanic flaw to end all flaws are really not that bad. At all. People are so caught up in sensationalist reporting of "horribly bad" or "incredibly disappointing" flaws that they don't seem to realize that their expectations were so unrealistic that not even a five year development cycle was going to deliver the sort of earth-shattering revolutionary game that is the be all end all of awesome to their doorsteps for just $60 (or a little higher if you went Collector's).
You're missing my point. I am not trying to attack the ME2. I am simply sharing how I feel having played the game, although ONLY twice. The problem for me, is I'm not that excited or motivated to keep playing. I haven't been hooked the same way I was with ME1. I don't have a grasp on all of the reasons.
Was ME2 a value for the price paid? Absolutely, a terrific value. But alas, the magic is wearing off sooner than I had ever expected. I'm just trying to understand why.
I'm wondering if it's about time, specifically.
I remember, for ME1, like....I didn't totally "believe" BioWare. I heard about consistent changes, I heard to preserve my savefile. And I sort of like, didn't believe it. And, after 2 years, it started to slip my mind.
Then ME2 comes out, and I even don't realize it till launch day. And, I find my savefile on an old harddrive (in a desk drawer).
Suddenly, in ME2 (through playing it and watching alternative choices in youtube), every micro-decision I made had a consequence. They basically came through with their promises. And now, I'm making tons more decisions. With like 10 additional characters. And..the game ends.
Now.....I dunno. No matter how many playthroughs (I'll do 2, and stop, I think, like you)... there's like 14 characters in the game. I don't know who will be back fgrom Me1 or ME2 in ME3. I want them all back. And, no matter what, finishing this adventure is 2 years away.
In summary....one day after finishing ME1, it was just one more game with an uncertain future. One day after ME2, I have 2 thirds of a trilogy I am dying to finish.

Watch this a few times, and playing ME2 again (creating that one perfect playthrough for ME3) won't feel so empty
Honestly that trailor is still freaking epic as hell, the game not so much, I think part of it is the music.
