I don't see why the Reaper-Human larva wouldn't be possible without guns... just boring.



You take some crazy risks popping out of cover with just health. Do you just one shot the mission whenever or does it take you a few tries before you get a good run through for a video? It seems to me like in some of these videos people are running out of cover a lot without getting killed.

This one was all one go. Every time I died I just restarted the whole thing. Also I was trying to be really aggressive so it could be the most entertaining. These collection of videos were my second attempt.

Another reason why it looks risky was the no pausing. My reflexes aren't that fast. But I would say one of the advantages of the adept is that i can lock down multiple enemies and therefore not get shot quite as much.

The lack of shields on the final areas makes an all biotic team work well there. Of course the adept still mostly spams singularity and warp.



Unfortunately the fact remains that biotics are gimped in insanity when compared to weapons/ammo and that adepts are far more reliant on their squad than the soldier classes are.

Far more reliant, yes. But I'm not so sure you can say that biotics are gimped anymore. Maybe the adept class has less pure killing speed than any other class, but it also has the best CC which means less time getting shot (course we need that because we're also naturally so weak). But Biotics taken as a whole? You can instant kill with warp,pull,throw most lower level enemies, and you can CC any strong enemy. Only krogan and varren can't be instant killed by throw 100% of the time, and even then a krogan reduced to just health and hit with pull then heavy throw is many times going to be dead.

Honestly I think its assumed that soldier is better because shooting isn't as difficult as quick managing 8 different hotkeys, and therefore people's kill speeds are much higher. Until someone can really show, and not just talk, about how much better guns and ammo are, I'm going to have to remain unconvinced.

how often do you pull an enemy, and then 3 seconds later throw them? it doesnt happen often. during those 3 seconds the enemy is floating through the air, your getting shot at, shooting other people, thinking about what biotic to use on the next enemy...theres so many other things that happen that comboing pull and throw only happens when theres one enemy left. but that doesnt even matter becasue when theres one enemy left, you dont need biotics. when theres more then one enemy, they all are protected against biotics. biotics are almost a pointless ability to have now. bioware screwed up biotics big time. sure singularity can slow down somewhat, but if im playing an adept, i would really like to use more then just warp and singularity. thats like making it so the soldier only uses melee. ....on enemies that only have health left.



bioware really screwed up biotics in ME2. biotics used to be on par with "the force." now biotics are the lamest ability in this game. christ concusion shot does the EXACT same thing as biotics. its stupid.

yeah you should remain yourself from average to crazy :-)



but great fun to watch your videos. Sometimes i think i should at least try fraps some of my gameplay, but i like pausing a lot (with shift) and play very defensively, so it would be mostly very boring.

Your charges are really awesome and dodging shots on the run... One thing i am lately learning is the rythm of enemies firepower and i too sometimes succesfully dodge heavy weapons fire, but not on the same level as you.

Adepts who use weapons to kill instead of using weapons to strip defenses is a really poor and stupid adept.

Very entertaining vid, nice way of showcasing the power of biotics.



Just blew through that area with a sentinel, almost played out the same way(Thought I sped things up by adding bullets to the mix). Brought the same squad, felt so much easier/safer then as a vanguard, not more fun however, just easier (could also be because I actually used my team mates this time). You can actually kill the reaper using warp, I basically did that. (3 sec cool down on warp as a sentinel is crazy)



When you have reave, 2 warps and access to pull/throw etc for the explosion it becomes too easy on insanity. Biotics are incredibly powerful in this game.(Tho thankfully not quite as overpowered as in me1).



Ps about not using pull+throw combo often, if you can't do it fast enough because of too much thinking of what you are going to do, just hit pause. I used it extensively as a sentinel.

Okay, I am an adept through and through, but no. Soldier is a killing machine.

All three ammo skills is so powerful, it's I don't even know. Disruptor for shields/synths, Inferno for armor, Cryo for husks melees... with adrenaline...

Yeah, I have to confess quite a bit of glee upon seeing Harbinger get bludgeoned to death by Shepard.  class act man. :-P

Definitely wrong - bottom tier in fun quotient, yes for some people who prefer a more tactical approach, but bottom tier in killing ability, definitely far off.

They made the soldier a bit too good after the lacklusterness of the soldier in the 1st game it seems.

The three classes you mentioned are all soldier classes. The soldier classes play the same on all difficulty levels because unlike biotics, the weapons and ammo are not gimped by higher difficulty levels. Those classes also all have passives that increase their effectiveness with guns. They are designed for shooting.

The adept is supposedly the biotic master. They were supposedly designed to conrol the battlefield and kill the enemy without ever firing a shot. Their ability to do so is gimped as difficulty level rises as the majority of their powers are denied to them until the enemy is stripped of his defenses.

How come some of you abilities are ready before the others, i play on the xbox and I have to wait for my all of my ability's  to recharge after using one and then I can use the others. It's quite annoying i must admit especially the Reaper fight cause i cant seem to kill him quick enough and have my team mates distract all the other enemies cause they dont go to cover when I tell them to lol. Nice vids by the way.

@drewsta1337: You're just misinterpretting the interface.  The abilities which are coming off cooldown at different times are his squadmates abilities.

@Grumpy: I'm not sure what to tell you.  Christina Norman posted explicitly saying that the Adept is designed to use guns on higher difficulties and that the description of Adepts using only powers was for Veteran and below.  Maybe you want to play a different game?  My mage in World of Warcraft never uses weapons unless I'm bored.

@AverageGatsby: I have a challenge for you... come up with a viable strategy for Insanity that makes reasonable use of Shockwave. =D  I'd really like to see some strategies for using the less popular skills.

You've had BioWare reps state time after time that they fully intend every class to have to use guns and abilities on Hardcore/Insane. You have your opinion on what the adept should be able to do, but it isn't shared by BioWare.

Mind you that said, Average Gatsby these videos are pretty insane, and I hope you and others keep proving just how versatile every class is on Insanity.
