Soldiers are bottom tier I think....they have too many ammo powers and not enough abilities.

That's basically what people said about the soldier in the first game, too, haha.

"Oh no it doesn't have any crowd control or anything, how could it possibly be useful!?"

*stands in front of geth colossus and shoots it to death without moving on insanity in 5 seconds*

This is not ME1 and while we are on the subject, they are definitely not low tier. But not as good as vanguard or adept either (ME1).

Never mind that in ME1 I could pull the same trick with any class.

ME barely had a shooting element at all.

Your estimate is WAY off. 65% Warp is Warp Spam - perhaps the least efficient way to play Adept apart from completely ignoring your Biotics and just using your guns. You could play that way if you found it fun, but since you don't find it fun, why are playing in a way that's bad AND boring?

By and large, you need maybe 4 or 5 Warps per encounter - you generally don't need to use Warp to strip defenses one by one. You strip defenses with one Warp or one Overload or guns, then Warp Explosion clears multiple defenses at once. Once those are gone, using Warp for anything other than Warp Explosion is BAD because it doesn't do that much damage and the cool down is too long.

Insta-kills with Throw or Pull are better, and even when they aren't Pulling guys out of cover with either Throw or Pull to serve them up to your mates for the finish is also more efficient.

Since you're using Pull and Throw on multiple individual enemies and also because they have half the cooldown, you end up using as much Pull and Throw as you do Warp, usually more because some mission are just bad for Warp (Reaper IFF).

My live play of the final mission is uploading. Its about as true as I can get to my normal play, except I am talking about everything as I do it so i do get distracted and make mistakes, which I will be pointing out. I didn't count the number of each move, but you'll see for yourself in a few hours.

Soldier is the easiest class to play with imo

Still fun though

Only easy if your a good shot. Since you have no CC, not missing is really important. So if you are a bad shot, then this class could be the hardest. I'd say that soldier is the most straightforward class to play.

I now have that Live play I promised. Haven't counted out the number of moves for each, but you'll see. Fairly even. And I don't think you can argue that, while the results weren't always as planned because of mistakes made on my part, my reasoning for using each move was sound. Its also a guide video, so I wouldn't recommend someone use an ability if I couldn't try to show that it was the best ability to use in that situation.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

This was all one long marathon session as you'll see. I never even went to the pause screen, I just kept on recording through the whole process.

If you guys are pissed with biotics, just mod the game, you can remove cooldowns and make attacks stronger. I haven't done it personally, but I have seen people report doing it.

I didn't watch all the videos but the OP may be using some passive mods to boost damage slightly, or he may not be, there is no evidence either way

Hes not, Im actually just finishing up my Adept, tali and jacob loyalty, then IFF, then end game, did all side missions, had almost ZERO trouble on insanity.

I thought adept was wayyy more fun then my infiltrator, you just need to make sure you have the right team mates. Heavy geth = Zaeed with squad disruptor, and Garrus or Miranda with area overload.

Heavy armor fights, I like Thane and Samara for area reave/throws/pulls/area warp.

I died a couple times on harder fights till I figured out good positioning, after that, its all a breeze.

"And Thane decides to use his Shredder ammo straight away."

Good job Thane.

Here's a useful hint about Singularity. If you run into your own singularity, it will dissapear as long as it has been around for at least 1.5 seconds. So it's an effective tactic to stay just out of range of your singularities if you're casting it nearby.

Heh, good to know. I was just trying to spice it up by giving Harbinger some smacks to the face.

Gatsby, have you ever tried area pull? I'm just wondering if it can affect enemies behind cover. Sometimes, an enemy takes cover just before pull gets to them.

Area pull only works if it actually hits a specific target and not cover. I do use it in my last videos. What happens is that when area pull hits an actual unit, it then pulls an area. So even if you hit a barriered enemy, an unbarriered enemy next to them would get pulled. But if it hits cover, it simply disappears. So you can pull people out of cover as long as an actual enemy is hit.

Too bad.  Otherwise, it might be worth the investment.

I tend to ask my squaddies to use whatever ammo powers they have on both their guns straight off from the mission start so they don't waste cool down doing idiotic stuff. Also, I have auto-power use on the OFF setting, so I use squaddie powers almost like an extension of my own - two slots with separate cool downs from the rest of my power slate.

In that last part, it was just a personal oversight. I also have my squad abilities set to off, but because ammo is considered a defensive and not an offensive ability, squadmates will still use it automatically before they fire the first shot (kind of like how Jacob will seem to spam barrier).

@Roclimn thats a good idea, and for sure the way to do it so they don't waste time. Problem is when you use squad ammo to give them something else, then they override it with their useless ammo just for fun.

@Tvai you need to curve your pull around the cover like a ninja.

Hm... Never noticed that. Must be why I get annoying ammo switches every time I bring two squaddies with different ammo abilities.

I do.  It just doesn't always work.  I was hoping area pull would make up for near misses.

Might want to try Area Throw for that. As long as you hit behind cover and the enemies are within range, they are affected by Throw.
