I would enjoy seeing an apostate origin, though not necessarily a runner. Maybe someone that was just kept hidden from the Chantry, or they just never came looking there.
Second on my list would be an Avvar origin, and then a Qunari. But Qunari are, to keep in mind, not that common in Ferelden [YET!].
If another Origin were possible what would you like it to be?

I would like to see some sort of human anti-hero background for rogues. Maybe a prisoner, etc. It still seems like a rogue coming from the human noble background is a bit of a stretch given that the father and brother are ready to lead troops into battle, but I guess it will depend on the storyline.

Silent Sister. It would be easy -- not much dialog!

Human Trader or Diplomat or some other occupation that involves travel to places with different peoples and customs.

Another human origin, a Qunari convert/former 'slave' perhaps. Traitor to your own race fun, crisis of faiths.

There's a number I'd like to see, although others here have pretty much covered them:
Human Commoner: although if they want to avoid both the cliche "young farmer saves the world", as well as not doing yet another urban poor origin (which I'd say both the city elf and dwarf commoner fall under), it does limit the options. Perhaps starting as a small-town artisan?
Qunari: though this might be more appropriate in a sequel instead, as the qunari are supposed to be somewhat removed from Ferelden, aren't they?
Apostate Mage and Dalish Keeper would both be nice
Perhaps an origin tied to the Chantry?

I voted for an apostate. However I can see why Bioware would not do that, it would be hard to fit in. Earlier in the year we had a thread that was all about creating your own origin story and I thought "Orlesian bastard" was a good idea. It would be based on having grown up in Ferelden but having an Orlesian father from the war. You'd be subject the villagers prejudices and lingering resentment and IMO would be a good introduction to recent history of Ferelden for people who hadn't read the book.

Rod Stewart is strictly limited to worlds that support Halfling life!
I have run 'Roddo Stewart' as a tone deaf halfling bard through all of nwn's iterations (including sequels).

I concur with the others who have mentioned Human Commoner; I hate playing as nobility and as a mage, but like playing as a Human. Go figure, then, that this is the one game where you cannot be a regular Human of no fame!

How about a dwarf exception with a genetic defect where he loses his magic resistance...?Then he could be a mage?

I would love an origin where your mage gets possessed by a benevolent spirit and retains his free will while at the same time becoming extremely powerful.

Or better yet, a Dwarf that carries a Mage as his/her main weapon.
Just swing the guy around a bit and he'll be sure to cast something at someone.

I kinda want the Antivan Crows to be an origin, when they showed zevran getting ready to attack the PC i guess the mage behind him was part of the group...so you dont have to be a rogue assassin to join them and work for them.
