1) Sorry for the misunderstanding. Image IPB

2) I consider myself to be a very casual religious person (I'm borderline agnostic), and I'd never use the word "god" that loosley. So it completely caught me off guard that she would use it like that. And for reasons I'm too lazy to repeat for the sixth time, the entire line felt wrong. Image IPB

I understand you were just voicing your opinion on this matter so I won't get into anything in real detail.

I did want to say this, no matter how well we think we may know someone, there is always the possibility of them doing something we'd never expect.

She was referring to sex.

Hahahaaaa!

^this

In seriousness, I did find it a bit out of character for her, but that was about it.  No cringing, no chuckling, no chortling or rolling of eyes.  More like, meh-minor-error-in-characterization-ing. . .

She meant to say Dog but just screwed up the line. Perhaps Harbinger was assuming control of her.

A religious (monotheist, Christian or otherwise) may use "god" (small "g") in a loose/metaphorical sense to express someone's excellence and/or the manner in which they are looked up to. E.g. "he's like some sort of football god" or whatever.

That doesn't mean every religious person would, but even with the Ashley Williams character being established as believing in God in ME1, I didn't think this line was objectionable. Note also, if I recall from some of the dialogue choices, it suggests that she was aware of Shepard's "return" even before seeing him on Horizon so it wasn't a total surprise.

On a somewhat related note (not notifying people), if you played ME1 with a spacer background, you get a message from your mother (XO at the time) and there's some follow-up (2 news stories and an e-mail, I think that's it, I just did an import of a different savegame with different background and renegade end to see what was different, I didn't finish that import) in ME2.
