I disagree with your statement on romances. Even though to be honest, I don't mind- it would be -selfish- to ignore the fact that a lot of other people are upset by this, and losing one of their favorite connections to the original game.
For me, the issue is the DLC items. I would actually be over it in a flash if they added some modder's creations to the game, but that is never going to happen xD
As it stands- there is no armor I've seen in the original game, or so far in the expasion, that will go with this character. Maybe there will be- I can't say for sure yet, but so far I haven't seen any.
in a few of the videos juggernaut armor is seen in on the main character. We already know DLC content won't carry over(which is ridiculous i agree) but juggernaut, drake scale, dragon scale, all the other armor is still carrying over & it doesn't really matter since we'll be getting new & better items shortly after starting Awakening. Romance isn't a large part of DAO it doesn't really effect anything at all. All it gives you is a couple extra dialogue options & a bad sex scene it doesn't really add anything to the game at all. I can't see what the fuss is about. Is video game sex really that important. i'm sure you can still have deep conversations with your new companions & get to know them you just can't have sex, you can probably still flirt or be playful just no sex scenes which we terrible anyway who has sex with underwear on? lol Point being I think most are making a big deal out of 2 things that don't matter the only 1 of the 3 issues mentioned that really should matter is the DLC even if we won't be using it very long we did pay for it so it should be up to us but I can see how taking the time & other resources to implement something in that most will drop in a couple levels can seem like a bit of a waste. I'm sure by missing our DLC content we only get the reward of more content.
Honestly I can't see any of these as game breaking issues. Awakening adds companions, abilities, skills, spells, weapons, armor, enemies, & story we can't really ask for much more. I'm glad they didn't waste time & money giving us companions & romances we've already experienced. I want content & story in an expansion which is what we are getting. All in all sounds like it is worth $30 once i get a confirmation of how long it is & a couple reviews are up I will let Bioware rob me blind with an over priced expansion!

What I AM excited for, is how there are so many new dragons...and Wade is returning...so that leaves my hopes about this expansion high.

I'm just concerned with the story flowing smoothly, thats all. I'm not saying I won't buy it because of the lack of romances. Just want a smooth story. The DLC would be nice. I'm sure someone will create a patch for that eventually, official or not.
Maybe they will, but for us console owners those chances are pretty slim you know?

By then Dragon Age won't interest me as much to be honest. The way the modding community has increased though, I'm not buying the next console. I mostly play RPGs- and they are ALWAYS better on the PC because of mods, it's frustrating.

This is an expansion designed to expand on the story of origins adding more plot & new experiences, why don't you just keep playing origins if you don't want anything to change? I know ppl don't like change but if we keep the same armor, companions, weapons, game options, then you're paying for nothing. We already know all there is to about our companions & we've seen all we can in origins. This is supposed to be a new experience offering new content not selling us a $40 expansion with 80% of the content recycled.

Why are you typing in caps? And, just because someone has an opinion, whether you agree or not, doesn't really make them an "idiot."

It's not an opinion though he genuinely thinks the reason we are upset is because we want to use the same equipment through the whole game and it's just really really frustrating.
