Here comes the jokes. If you don't like the romance options then don't use them. Just stop the cheap shots on those of us who do. I'm not even talking about the PG13 scenes, they can take those out if they want. It makes the game realistic, to get to know a character on a level not commonly found in video games. This is supposed to be a fantasy world, right? And people want video games to be somewhat realistic? Well there you go. As far as no romances in Awakening, I'm ok with that. I just want the story to flow from origins, if you marry Alistair/Anora, etc.

I also like a romance option in some games. Sometimes it really fits, sometimes it doesn't.
But let's talk about being realistic.
If you were the only hope to save the world from certain doom as evil creatures intend to utterly destroy it, would you begin trying to flirt with the people around you? If so, then I truly fear for the ultimate survival of the human race.

People have needs. Its not like you are all over each other while trying to settle a dispute between the dalish and the werewolves. (which to me seems a bit like a waste of time) All I'm saying is that I don't like the "you must not have a life" line people keep throwing out there. I'm not insulting people cause they have a different opinion than mine so I would appreciate the same. This is the first game I've played with romances. It is a new thing for me and I am disapointed it will not be in the expansion.Will I still play it? Yes. Will I like it as much? Probably not. It is my opinion, take it for what it's worth. Now, lets just all get along.

Of bloody course I would! bit off stress reliefe here, bit there LOL  and if the world is going to end, I'm going out on a (kind of) happy ending thanks
The whole setting is fantasy, why couldn't all these elements fit?

But truly, with the snipes thing it's getting really sad that when some voice their opinion it's assumed they are sad little basment nerds with besides DOA the only other love they get has staples down the middle or comes with a air valve. I don't think anything of others that want more spells or more this or more that anything, it makes the game more enjoyable for them where is the harm in that?

Agree with cmessaz. I personally don't care for romace options in games - too distracting. However, I will not demeen others for liking it. It adds a whole new layer to the game, giving it much more depth.

Amen sister. You know as much as I've played this game I have never romanced Zevran. I just downloaded a pretty Zevren mod so he is more attractive now. I will do it next play thru. That settles it, I am a nerd.

I never said there's anything wrong with romances. I just like them to fit the story, and if they don't, they should be left out. I never want to see anything like the mass effect romance again. That one seemed to me at least to be VERY shoehorned into it. A romance for the sake of having romances, not for the story, which is an epic fantasy story, not a romance novel. There are plenty of those already out and they are quite cheap. Some of us like heroic fantasy, and don't want it crowded with cheesy romances.

Or maybe you could try not demanding that all games are turned into a romance game.
Try realizing there are other people in this world besides you. My money is just as good as yours and they want me to play their games. Since you are part of the "must have romances" crowd I would imagine I've also been their customer longer than you have.
That's all I'm saying.

But it's easy to by-pass the romance in game so everyone could have what they wanted if they added it and the ones who like their romance novels better can by-pass and just slaughter dragons ect. Hey glory for everyone!

Not as easy as you might think. As I said, Zevrans constant flirtation kept me from enjoying him as a character.

Well then we are actually at a similar wavelength as far as the things we want. Like I said, I'm fine with romances when they're done well, but I can't stand them when they're not.

No, I'm not saying it's better. Long term commitment to a company is a desirable thing however, and you misunderstood why I stated what I did. I don't want the older gamers to get left out in the cold and be left without any more games with "backbone" in them.

Insults to myself? I never once was as vulgar as you were in your jokes. I just said that sometimes when I see those posts I think the people who made them don't have any real relationship so they must simulate them. It may be untrue, but it's usually what I think when I see these posts.

Hmm. Now that I can somewhat relate too as I loved the origin story for the Dwarf noble and was kind of upset when I found out I couldn't become king of the dwarves. So yeah, I hope they (Bioware) let you stay queen.
